Quality in this case simple implies a place that can be termed quality in the eyes of a Consular at the embassy. If a American Consular sees that you have been to Canada before, he's more likely to give you a visa compared to if you have been to South Africa for example.

The reason you're on this forum is because you want to visit U.S, U.S prefer quality destination for your travel history... by the way to get Latin America visa is harder than getting U.S Visa

There is nothing like conference visa. If you are going for conference, apply for b1/b2 and tell the vo you are going for conference.

Apply for tourist visit and stay in a hotel, do not stay in your aunty state and during the interview try to convince the VO that you will return because you have your work and families here in Naija.

You higher chance of getting the US visa will not depend on where you're going to stay in the US.

It will depend on how strong your ties are in Nigeria is and that nothing in the US will make you abandon it.
