I have a relative who is currently in Dubai. He has a 2-month employment visa. He was also given a work permit. All these were gotten via an agent who was paid 700k.

I started reading this thread a few weeks ago after I learnt that my relative will be migrating to the UAE. With the info I got on this thread, I helped to verify the visa and it expires May 5. However, when I verified the work permit, I found out that it's owned by someone else. They edited the photo and name.

Now, since he got there, he's not started working. His int'l passport was collected (by the agent, I believe). They're saying he'll start work soon but no job is forthcoming and he's running out of money.

Based on what I've read so far on the thread, I advised him to ditch the agent and go in search of other jobs, attend walk-in interviews as it's usually advised on the thread for job seekers. However, he was told that's not possible. According to the labour laws, he has to work with the company that got him the work permit for six months before he can move on to another job.

Is this true? What do you advise that he should do?

I believe you don't have full knowledge of the full/Real story/Situation.
Kindly inform the person to maybe PM me so I could talk with him and see what's going on.
Because an employment visa entry permit has 60days validity and has to be converted to a Resident Permit for 2 or 3 years.

Don't give up yet it's too early, Stay past the time on your return ticket cos you have 90days from the day you entered UAE, continue your job search.
Most importantly, leave Ajman come to Dubai you have better opportunities here.
Try LinkedIn and network your way to a job. Its 99.9% impossible to get to any reasonable better country from UAE while on Visiting Visa.

U better contact ur airline and give them some money to extend ur returned ticket to match with ur visa duration,in case, if u want to migrate to Turkey u have to come back home and start the process

Pls oh my ogas... I have been following keenly for sometimes now but I have something bothering me , which is I'm planning to start my visa process through an agent here in Ilorin .... I have opted for the driving job stuff but my hidden agenda is to only work for some months and process my Turkey or better country visa ... I'd like to know if that can be done while their or I have to return to Nigeria to get that done and how logical is that ... I d appreciate any for of advice pls

Once you get here and have a good job and salary, and able to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer, you are 98% Sure of getting any Visa to any part of the world. The remaining 2% is the luck and village ppl effect.

You can by faith, forget about your return ticket cos u wouldn't be needing it.
Even if you will need it when you want to leave if you will, just call the airline or email them your itinerary with the new dates they will give you the cost for the change.
As for bed spaces in Dubai, budget 650aed to 750aed monthly.

My only advise to you is while being positive also read the msgs of those on ground right now in uae, especially those that've and are still there looking for jobs and it's not yet forthcoming. The current situation in uae doesn't have any guarantee job for anyone MOST ESPECIALLY NIGERIANS, but maybe if he gives you details of the course in question people who have idea about it will advise in that regards. I'd rather take a bank loan and play bet9ja than using it for uae job hunt giving the current state of things.

What am I saying? In a nutshell, before you take that loan, prepare your mind for the worst, try to have a backup plan shud in case the driving job didn't work out.

A) Nothing like 500K Freelance package.

B) Freelance visa do exist. Expensive , definitely over 1M but you dont any course . You just pay for the visa and as the name implies, you enter and hustle for jobs with it. You can do paid jobs legally with it(daily, weekly or monthly contracts). However, to qualify for freelance visa, you must be in the education or media industry.

C) No one, no certificate or course can guarantee you job. You gotta hustle for it like others. Unless its direct employment visa.

D) Dont take a loan to travel to UAE.

if the bolded is true then you are surely going for taxi job,with bank loan, don't bother and u won't be making 3kaed that's for sure a lot of people are in it already and looking for a way out,if u can use another source of funding to do it its better at the end of the day u have uae drivers licence which could open more doors later
