I sort of grew up with various people and at different locations. For some reasons, I didn't spend much years with my parent, max 4 years. Then, those I lived with also, I spent a maximum of 4 years with them too or location.
The ones I lived with the longest, we got to really enjoy each other's company after I left for the University and came home once a year.
Even in school, I lived with people once. When someone becomes too close, it feels good. I enjoy it and as soon as they begin to drift away, I do too.
In essence, I drift away easily.

So, it kind of make me detached and make me find it hard to remain close to anyone. And when I see any sign of withdrawal or even you reacting in a funny way to me, I start the process of ending it unconsciously.

I really need advise from people. I've tried psychologists but I don't have enough money for their sessions.
So, help me glean from your experience and anything you want to say.

This is just me exactly, tbh i am not really doing anything to stop cause i don't see it as an habit, i just see it as being ME but i think a serious relationship can help you...and also look for something to miss about someone...i am tough, very tough, i hardly show emotions and i don't miss people but when i started letting down my walls a bit...i try to reach out more now

This is me in a summary. Learn to enjoy solitude. I don't have friends and don't even need them. I enjoy my space. I hardly talk to people. I find it grueling even to pick up calls. I leave Whatsapp and other social media chats unanswered. They say I'm snobbish, but I know I'm not. I'm only friends with people for a moment and once I notice you start drifting away, I completely leave you alone until we have a reason to discuss again. I'm a very intense person & I find most people quite superficial & empty of higher virtues,very few dey my wavelength esp now many folks can't stand against peer pressure,everything na competition. I can relate to most of what you said except that I'm easily hurt lol.
My own relatives accuse me of no liking people, but it's not true. The only reason I withdraw from people is because they've hurt me in some way, no matter how inconsequential. One small thing & I'm ready to never speak to you again.
With relationships I fair better though. It's friendships & family bonds that I'm absolutely the worst at. I have only one close friend (16 years of friendship to be precise), but even that relationship is volatile at times because she always does things that make me wanna drop her on the spot. TBH, if she weren't so patient & persistent, the friendship would have ended a long time ago because I neither chase nor beg people. If we don't talk, then we won't talk. I don't have even a single sentimental bone on my body. I will write you off never to speak to you again, with ease.

What you should work on is showing loyalty and gratitude to the friends and colleagues that patronise your business through referrals and direct patronage...for the rest, you can contact them once in a blue moon

Also, try and have one to three people you can chill with around your city and immerse yourself deep in work.

You can also join one or two online communities of people that share similar interests as you do.
