GTbank can easily afford the money. Profit will reduce a bit but not so significant

From 2.4 to 8billion. Compound interest of over how many years?
You can find out if you applied the formula in view of other terms and conditions.

That's to show you they're tribal bigot. I remembered the last time this case was up in which EFCC invaded his residence, threads upon threads were being created bashing Innoson, his wife and anything associated with him. None of the silly mods removed those threads. I now believe they enjoyed the bashing of Innoson.

Shame on all of them.

A lot of Nigerians are uneducated about these things.

GTB total asset is N3.16 trillion, declared over N180 billion profit after TAX last year alone.

This is a dispute of N2.4 billion, even with the interest it is just N8.7 billion.

Innoson knows he can never win the case, hence the reason he is sponsoring fake news. The Friday case wasn't even between him and GTB but another company with an account with GTB. Yet, misled media and people that it was the same GTB case. Why if you are honest?

GTBank would have settled the 2 billion long time ago, see how they will now pay 8 billion because of carelessness and self confidence. I wish both GTBank and Innoson well in their future transactions

Because it is fake news sponsored by Innoson, and GTB has responded that they had no case in court with Innoson on Friday, that it was between Innoson and another company that has an account with GTB. Innoson is misleading people and this is not the first time.

People should quit re-publishing stories obviously written by functionally-illiterate ‘journalists’... undecided

That someone is a journalist or otherwise employed by a newspaper to write stories does not render them literate in all sectors - particularly ones in which specialized knowledge is required. For starters, GTB is OWNED by its shareholders and thus no court will render judgment to takeover the bank (in which the shareholders have a proprietary interest in) when the shareholders are not a party to the lawsuit (and folks have to understand that the bank and its individual shareholders are DIFFERENT ‘legal persons’ and thus a suit against one is not a suit against the other(s)). In other words, you cannot deprive persons of a legal interest via a lawsuit in which they are not a party to. It is quite obvious that the newspaper journalist neither understood the lawsuit itself nor the judgment of the courts thereto.

Shut up! Fake news was in Circulation when the news broke out and the case was said to have been won in Ibadan the capital of Yoruba Land itself. The case was delivered by a Yoruba judge on behalf of Innoson but here you are still crying like a Baby and playing unnecessary tribal Card.

GTB should stop fighting and simply respect the court judgment and pay. It has no choice.

Though GTBank remains my core financial institution and has been a friend of the family for many, many years and has done no wrong at all in my personal business dealings.... and has shown a very high level of consistent performance.... you will want to acknowledge and support thedecision of the apex court as a victory in many fronts.

For the customer against a leading service company....
For the underdog against a mighty behemoth...
For the pioneering industrial concern over the smash and grab financial industry....
For the hardworking blue collar guys over the tight upper lipped white collar slave drivers....

There are so many reasons why this is necessary to generate confidence in the economy especially to those looking from without, seeking to invest in the brick and mortar industries required to build a thriving and sustainable economy. That 'too big to fail', long standing, politically connected and finacially powerful concerns are not beyond the law.

Innoson too has to play its part to ensure this event is contained and settled with minimum fallout to the greter economy from which it hopes to benefit. It is time to clean up the mess.
