Good day All,

Please gurus in the house help my sister. She has a bsc and masters in biz admin from malaysia and wants to apply for a studypermit for master program from university of victoria, is it necessary for her to state a previous masters in d same discipline when applying for visa on tuesday or just skip the info. Will CIC find out that she has done a previous masters?

Please reply its urgent.

Thank you

At the bolded doesn't prove any career progression, and there is a doubt of been able to convince the VO of being a genuine student. This is not to say it isn't feasible but this would be based on luck.

Going for a second Masters shouldn't have being in same discipline but a closed related.

Why do I say this? There would be more convincing reasons to easily explain to the VO in choosing a close related course to a same course of another Masters.

What's the aim here? To be actually being able to prove to be a genuine student

What is this one even saying? Am saying that there's higher probability that the VO would scrutinize her application as well thorough background checking given her to be an expat which makes her immigration status and activities in the said foreign country a concern to them.

So? Its best she declare every certification she got in a foreign land as it "might" eventually be dug out.

What next? Her SOP! she should be veracious and let honest prevail even if the final outcome is feared, which "might" as well be her saving grace.

Please when did u apply for ur Visa? If your application isnt over 8 months, u dont have any right to say this. I fully support Bracha, Its assif you dont even know how it feels to wait for over 8 months without any communication from those nitwits... If they communicate with us occasionally now, that is different.. They just kept mute for over 8 months without saying a word.. What Bracha wrote is even small, If i have the opportunity of knowing their office, believe you me I will go there and cause a scene, cos what they are doing is blatant rubbish..Application that is suppose to be given a decision within 2 months is taking forever.. God pass them.. and punish them

Hi Nairaland.....I'm new here
Although I've been following this thread some months ago and I need some advice

I've gotten admission into U or Regina
All documents set I'm applying for my TRV(Online route) this week...I've done the upfront medical test
The hospital has called me that my result has been sent to the embassy.
But I'm somehow confused cos the bank statement I'm using is for my uncle and the closing balance is 3.5m(more than 10,000cad thou)...
Please I need your help, can I use the bank statement like that

Thanks in advance

Have you paid your fees? This will determine how much should be in your Uncle's account.

What is the confusion about?

Fear not bro. I've gotten an offer letter from Conestoga College for Community and Social Service Management for September, 2019. What course did you apply for?

I don't think they share information all the time but only when there is deep security concerns

Info sharing is a must for CAN and USA (cause its a treaty between USA & CAN)
Then for the rest ( UK, NZL and AUS), they can randomly pick two countries (mostly NZL & AUS).

Then 3.5M is not enough. You know the solution bro, there is no need for confusion.

...especially for a third party(even if its not), please DON'T! Let your sponsor try to build the account to maybe 10m & above, have your living expenses transferred into your personal account/raise a bank draft in your name plus either your first semester/year tuition paid(do well to check the refund policies first before any payment).

Its a pleasure engaging in this correspondence with you.

"In my opinion," I think even if the said moniker pay her first semester fees with such closing balance of 3.5m(the inflow or outflow won't be of much help) from a third party sponsor, the VO might still question:

1. Applicant's genuineness
2. Insufficient funds
3. POV

This is a part contribution/hint to your valid question/suggestion

Please don't put in this application without your sponsor building the supposed account. If you is working, do well to include your personal statement even if the closing balance is not huge(but it would work well if your sponsor's account is well sufficient for the intend sponsorship)

Hi everyone!
I have come again grin shocked shocked
Ok so while waiting for our visas or admission letters as the case may be.
Let's maximise this period of waiting.
There are many options especially if you're not working or if you are on a job that is not demanding. I have some suggestions:
1) Learn french. Yes you heard me right. I know you might not be going to Quebec but the world is so much on languages now. I know most of us have some basic grasp of french. Thanks to our yeye secondary school french classes grin grin grin. Leverage on that and build on it. I believe ultimately, we are going somewhere and our future masters, diplomas and doctorates are means to an end , not just an end. Plus, you never can know what door that extra language skill will open for you.

2) Start practising the IELTS. Trust me you'll need it. Even if you've taken the TOEFL. You'll still need it. It's logical to try to apply for PR when we get to Canada so...go figure!

3) For the academia inclined ones. Work on getting published. Go back to your thesis and try to make manuscript from it..., also try to get collaboration with you future supervisors ( trust me they have unpublished works of previous students). You can offer to be the editor and get your name in that paper. It will be stressful but ultimately rewarding. Remember the academic slogan publish or perish! smiley Don't wait till the end of your program. Make publishing a priority.
My desire is that African youths also take over everywhere like the Asians and maybe the Jews cool
It will end in Praise!
Happy Sunday!

Nice post. Please, i have a published paper in an international journal and two works in progress... Do i need to include a copy (10 pages) of this paper in my TRV application or should i just cite it?
Am going for thesis based MSc.

I came across this SOP guide online and thought to share…
Credit goes to TAMWOOD CAREERS

1) Why do you wish to come to Canada to study at the school and in the program for which you have been accepted?

2) What is your overall educational goal? If this program of study is different from your past field of study, please explain why you made this change.

3) Is English your first language? If no, please provide full details of any qualifications obtained in English, providing documentary evidence of same.

4) Why have you chosen to study abroad? How does this course differ from similar courses available in your home country?

5) How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence? Please specify exactly what you intend to do on completion of your proposed studies in Canada.

6) Have there been any gaps in time between your last period of study and now? If so, please specify exactly what you were doing during your break in studies.

7) How will you be paying for your studies? If someone other than your parents is assisting you, please identify their relationship to you and provide documentary evidence of their financial ability.

cool What ties do you have to your country of residence that will encourage you to return following to your course of studies?

Yes, it is also your duty to familiarise yourself with the refund policy of the school. In addition to sending them the refusal letters from the embassy you also have to fill the refund form of your institution.

Yeah fam you're totally right..and I've done that already. Will be sending them a mail tomorrow

Bro, please semme a pm, ain't proving anything to you on public again.. cause I don't get paid here. I will show you with 6-7 evidence in Gcms notes and then for the treaty, you can check it yourself on Google it is readily accessible
(Canada/U.S. Information Sharing Treaty Summary. On December 13, 2012, Canada signed a Treaty with the United States of America (U.S.) to enable systematic immigration information sharing between the two countries on third-country nationals).

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy/privacy-impact-assessment/us-canada-information-sharing-treaty.html

Then you come back here and apologize to me (I explained based on facts and sources not just forum speech).
No offense given or taken.
Please send me a pm, I am waiting to prove AUS, NZL and the UK.
