Hi, my case is at the NVC at the moment? Do I need to wait for packet 3 before I pay the visa fee and schedule an appointment? I already have a case number.

Thanks.

Hello marketgirl,

Without knowing the exact details of your brother's case, it would likely have been closed if USCIS did not hear from your family for over a year. You would need to contact USCIS to find out the specifics of this case and how to proceed.

marketgirl:
Dear VO,
I am an F3 beneficiary whose date has not become current. My mother the petitioner filed for I and my brother. About a year before we were invited for DNA, my brother died. I was the only person that was able to do teh DNA and got my approval in 2014. My late brother is surived by a wife and three children who were his dependants. After his death, we just took to faith and did not follow up with his file.
1. Is it possible to still continue my late brother's case for his dependents without him?
2. If yes, how do we go about it?
Thank you.

Hello

Good day, please we need a clarification. A friend of mine whose visa is still valid till November 2019 was turned back mid way to US, when she was connecting to her second flight. She was told that her visa is no longer valid, she was not given any notification prior and was put on a flight back to Nigeria. In a situation like this what can she do to know what actually happened and what she can do going forward. She has been to US severally and she never over stayed her visit for once. We await your kind response.

Hello hammed71,

The diversity visa is designed to increase the diversity of immigrants to the United States. As such, many countries that send large numbers of immigrants to the United States are not eligible for the diversity visa lottery, including but obviously not limited to Mexico, China, India, and the Philippines. We cannot predict the future and cannot say if or when Nigeria will become eligible again for the diversity visa lottery. We encourage you to read more about it at https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/diversity-visa.

Hello VO

I have a friend who is a refugee in a country where uscis has an office. He has lived for over 2years there. He got married to an American a year ago. Can he successfully apply for a spouse visa to move to the states with the wife? If yes what’s required of him to facilitate this, any guidelines as he is still a Nigerian over there which is why I make this inquiry here

Hello VO,
my mum's elder sister has been in the united states for more than 30 years. What's the process involved if I want to migrate to join her as a young Nigerian graduate without prior travel experience?

Hello Gentlechuks,

Your friend's American spouse will need to file paperwork with USCIS to begin petitioning for him. USCIS should be able to provide more information on the process.

Hello FerrytimCharis,

You would only be eligible for family-based immigration benefits if you had an immediate American citizen relative, e.g. a parent, spouse, child, sibling, etc. You might find it helpful to start reviewing your options on USCIS's website: https://www.uscis.gov/

Hello VO,
Thanks for what you are doing on this thread and i really love it when i see someone who is willing to help and tries their best to do that!

So i have a some questions to ask..
My mum and my brothers had our F4 visa interview on March 19.. And it went well... But we were given a letter requesting us to drop an I-864A form in which our Petitioner Spouse Must Complete Along with our international Passport at DHL office.. And i think the reason she demanded for the I-864A form was because our petitioner is married and they need an evidence that shows that her husband is also committed in supporting us when we finally immigrate. And not Because of the Money because our petitioner has more than 120% of d poverty guideline for all of us in her household.

So we submitted the signed I-864A form on the March 26th then we added the Following additional Documents along with it :
1)Our petitioner marriage certificate to prove he is the spouse,
2)we also added his W2 form as an evidence that he collects **** amount which has been written in the I-864A form
3) His naturalization certificate to prove he is an american Citizen
4) Lastly, we included a notarized letter Written by Our petitioner Spouse Stating that he is the One who completed the form and He is the Spouse Of the petitioner.

We did send all those additional Documents eventhough they were not requested in order to make sure the Visa officer has every thing she needs in case she is not satisfied with the I-864A form...
So we saw a case update on our case On 28th March ..i think that should represent when our Documents and Passport got to d embassy..
Then there was no update until on the 03 April ..since then we haven't gotten any case update

So my questions are
1) i hope those additional documents won't affect our case in any form ??..because am so scared that the VO may be saying we are doing too much.
2) Our ccase Status on d CEAC website still shows That Our Case is READY for interview ..in which we have done the interview which is making us very confused?? What does it mean?? Is it also another way of saying Administrative Processing or what??

I am looking forward to hearing from you.. Thanks !

Hi VO

If one was banned on the ground that he submitted a fake bank statement, What if the bank statements were actually genuine with concrete proof backing his claim.

What can he/she do to rectify the above situation?

Awaiting your kind response

Hello aduku1,

This seems like it is better suited for the non-immigrant visa forum, but generally if you have been found to have submitted a false document and have been given a lifetime ineligibility, it is because your documents were actually verified at the source. If you would like to contest this, you can submit a new application and pay all eligible fees again. This does not guarantee that the outcome will change - in fact, it most likely will not. Please submit any further questions to the link here: https://www.nairaland.com/4624837/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening-pt

Hello, Good evening

My mom who is a green card holder petitioned for my 2siblings in September, 2017. At that time, they were age 17 and 19. It's 2019 now and one of them will turn 21 by November and we're yet to get an approval from USCIS.

My question is this, I hope her case won't move to another category once she turns 21 and we'll have to wait more before we get approval. Thank you for your help.
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer Pt. 2 by USMissionNGRA: 2:51pm On Apr 10, 2019
Hello ptdinner,

Please correct it on the form you are filling out now. That is an easy mistake to make and to explain - it will be okay. As long as your photo and biodata are clearly legible and are not damaged at all, your passport will probably be okay, but if the photo is faded or otherwise not clear, you will need to get a new passport. You can wait until your interview to speak to an officer and see what they say about it before making that decision.

Hello CO,

Please I need a favour from you. Thanks for helping on this. We have case specific questions that cannot be answered on telephone by the embassy on our immigrant case, we have sent 3 emails to LagosIV@state.gov with no single response.

Please we need your favour to help us inform the team monitoring that email handle to please check and respond to our questions. I know they are very busy but we have been waiting for response for more than 2 weeks now

Thanks for your anticipated support.

I have visited the USA 2016 on a visit/tourist VISA. I attempted to renew as it had expired, I used the drop box and was told to book an appointment.

I have now booked an appointment for JULY.

Any idea what to expect?

My questions , is there any complications going for a new one now before the interview. Am just trying to avoid any long talk or questions on the passport

Hello Visa officer
Good day and happy Easter

I sent an email to the US Consulate Lagos last week (April 9) requesting for an update on our case .. So I just received a reply from them (April 18) stating :

"According to our records, visa issuance is pending receipt of I-864A for the petitioner’s spouse. Please scan to us at LagosIV@state.gov with the case number as subject."

I don't understand what this statement means because we have previously submitted the I-864A form to them since March 26th at the GSS document collection ,which i have told u about before, and we sent them an email few days later (April 5th) to ask for an update on the case and they did reply us on The 12th of April saying:

"We have recieved ur I-864A form and Your International Passport and a consular officer would review it and you would be Contacted when they are done reviewing it"

...
So I am confused here as to why one email response is saying they have not recieved the document and the other email response says They have recieved the document .

I would appreciate it if you would explain what is happening?

And i would appreciate it if u give us any advice on the next step to take as the delay in our visa issuance is really causing so much stress and emotional breakdown to my Mum and Brothers...

I look forward to getting a reply from you .
Thank You .
