It is neither a good nor bad idea.
You just have to weigh the pros and cons.

Personally, I would do the medical at my earliest convenience, just to get it over and done with because then you can just immediately upload the results / paper you get from the hospital when you get the notification to do the Medicals instead of having to secure an appointment at that time.

A con is your medical is valid for a year so in the case that your application is refused you have a shorter time period to reapply using same result.

To a large extent getting the medical request is a sign that bar any red flags in your eligibility/background check (I forget which step comes after now) you would be granted the study permit, so actually waiting to get the request if it comes might help calm your nerves and put your mind at ease.

Hope this helps

UPDATE

I just read that your resumption is May 6 and you can’t defer again. I would definitely do the medicals if i can get it done so I can just update when/if you get the request. If I’m not mistaken, I believe you can add the results of the medical to your profile even before you get a request ? I would need someone to verify that.

Background check comes first before eligibility review or sometimes, it runs concurrently.

Yes, it can.

Sorry but you can only submit additional documents only when CIC requests them. Besides, you already ticked "No" which can be a little confusing on the part of the VO. I wish you all the best but if she's applying for a program that doesn't correlate with her previous degree/program coupled with you ticking "No" for work experience then that could be an issue.

JustMellow:

Your points are always valid but in addition to the bolded, it can be done whether or not CIC request for it. "Theoretically," on the CIC website, your facts sticks and "practically," my assertion sticks. its just a contribution.

Respect!

Qudkom:

You are right bro, you can provide information using web form. But in this situation his wife already ticked no for the stated job experience and if they go ahead to submit an additional document then it can be confusing and look made up.

I was referencing the bolded.

Hi everyone. Please is there anyone planning on traveling with Lufthansa from PortHarcourt Int’l Airport by the end of the month/beginning of next month?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 4:30pm On Apr 07, 2019
Hello,
I'll advise you send an email to cic first, reminding them of your resumption date. If nothing positive comes of it, you can do the medical exam if you want. When did you apply, and what was the estimated processing time at the time of application submission?

Anamekele:
Yes my resumption date is may 6th and the school said they can't defer my admission again since I have deferred before. Please that is why am asking if it us good for me to do medical before they call for it.

Hello

I just checked and CIMT doesn't offer courses eligible for post graduate work permit. I'll advise you to NOT apply to the school.

Christty:
Hi my good people please, I want to know if CIMT College is a good college to study. I will be waiting anxiously for your reply. Thanks.

Gurus in the house,

Firstly I want to appreciate your effort for the support you have been rendering to folks here....much appreciated.

Please I need help on behalf of a friend. The previous passport he had has a mistake in his date of birth which he did not bother to correct at the time. He also used the passport to travel to Russia and came back. Now in applying for admission to Canada, his transcript carried his real date of birth so he had to correct the date of birth and one of his three names in a new passport at Abuja for 180k .
The challenge now is in applying for study permit, he is expected to also attached the old passport which will show a different date of birth as well as having one of his name different. Also because he has applied for US visa with the old passport, it might be misrepresentation to say he has not traveled before to avoid attaching the old passport knowing fully well Canada and US share info.

what do you suggest he do as a way of solution to this problem? thanks in advance.

I am sorry, but he knew the date of birth was wrong and he travelled to Russia and applied for a USA visa with it. Apparently due to the DOB popping up on his transcript he now decided to change his name. That is kinda tricky. On the contrary:
1. He should get a letter from the HQ he changed his name and attach it together with his passport data page when submitting online/paper.
2. Get a sworn affidavit.
3. Omit the transcript*** when submitting the visa application and attach other credentials I.e nysc certificate, bsc certificate, CV etc( Please note that omitting the transcript is a contingency should incase...)

I hope other members of this platform will give you the right council.

After 10months of anxiously awaiting response from IRCC and yet got denied? These visa officers can be so cruel most times. Please put yourself together, take a deep breath, never give up, restrategize and present a persuasive SOP that will justify your reasons to why you're heading for an upper degree in this recent application instead of the previous diploma you applied with in the past. Endavour to seek counsel from knowledgeable individuals here to vet the letter for you and make possible changes where necessary before reapplying.

It shall end in praises in your next application.
Amen thanks will screenshoot my gcms for the gurus to help out

Hi Everyone,
Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten a medical request recently.

Since Sally is doing a compilation, I noticed that most of us hopefuls are still on background check; please if your status has been updated or your medical request dropped, kindly share as this will help the compilation.
Thank you.

It will definitely end in praises for us.

Good day everyone, I wish to appreciate each and every one of you for your kind efforts in helping one another, more especially the monikers; austacus, justmellow, frankrobbn1, makano, 042viber, and host of others.

My study permit for post secondary diploma in environmental science at a college was refused dec 25th based on purpose of visit and family ties. I graduated with a sharp 2.1 in microbiology (4.21/ 5.0). On January 4th i applied for a masters program in pharmacology at University of Manitoba and I have been accepted .

Currently am done with my SOP , then while writing my LOE (addressing my refusal reason purpose of visit ), I became confused if am to give any reason(s) why I abandoned my previous post secondary program (Environmental science) for an entirely different MSC course on (Pharmacology).

Will trying to explain complicate issues for me? Or should I just focus on my current program without mentioning or bringing the previous program into the picture?
Please I need your kind opinions..
Thanks.

You've got to explain it constructively in your LOE cause that could be the primary reason they tagged purpose of visit in your refusal letter.

Good luck

There's nothing wrong in this private college because it in the list of designated learning institute to host International students but I will gladly advise you not to apply to the school instead, try public or community college eg Fanshawe college, Algonquin, Conestoga college, Centennial college, humber college, George brown college, Niagara college, Durham college, Fleming college etc

PS: the colleges I mentioned are fully accredited.

@Cappymayor @chibertha @yacha77. You are right about the GIC. It is meant for some designated countries like india. The reason I recommended it was because I thought since you guys have temporary residence status in other countries (Sweden UAE) I thought it could be applied. On the contrary you can set aside the living expense in a savings/fixed deposit if you have the means. I believe based on the fact that you want to sponsor yourself that will be a good wqy to proove your financial buoyancy. Dont forgot to also get a Co sponsor.

In addition, A GIC Certificate is matter of fact the best way to show your financial capability to sponsor yourself in Canada. Those Asian students are really fortunate no need for scanning heavy statement of accounts or property. Just pay 10kCAD into a GIC account in a bank in Canada and you will be entitled to 800CAD every month for 12 months. This serves as living expense. By the grace of God will get there one day.

The moniker should also think US or CAN dom account and send the 10k living expenses.
With that, you've cleared a very big doubt in the mind of the VO concerning finance wahala.

There's no problem using your local account too but in his case, he should open a dom account cause he's applying in Sweden.
