Thanks bro. My point here is you cabt go for a diploma after a bsc rather an ADVANCED DI0LOMA or any other related program. Even me I got a visa to study an advanced diploma program.

To the bolded, its legitly feasible but only to a tedious convincing end.

I think you should send your transcript if it is one of the requirements. I didn't send mine to my school and I was given a conditional offer so I had to quickly request the schools I attended to send them so that I can meet the conditions before applying for visa.

Okay, my status is reading department recommend and I have also received an email to that effect. However, I am also supposed to receive an official letter from the school graduate commission which I can then use for my visa application. I am wondering if I need to start sending my transcript now or do I wait till the official letter comes? Can you please help me out (any one in the thread who is knowledgeable in this area) as school starts end of August and I wouldn't want to waste time.
Thank you so much dear sister and congratulations on your admission. I will do just that. Hope we meet someday.

I need an answer to something, I might be one of the gurus but I need to ask..Wat does this eligibility stage entail?

The eligibility review stage is the final lap of the SP race(though sometimes, background checks runs concurrently with eligibility review) whether a PA would be approved or refused despite meeting conditions of:

1. Required documents(an applicant can submit all the documents portraying a well packaged application, the VO might be looking for another document that seems likely to be the reasonable document to explain the applicant's situation without requesting for it even if they are suppose to)

2. Medical pass(an applicant can pass medicals and yet denied due to not meeting eligibility)

3. Background checks(an applicant can pass a background check but upon undergoing a secondary review/scrutinized by a second VO can yet be denied when on eligibility review stage)

During the eligibility review stage, it takes not only the principal VO handling an application but "could" compromise of more than one, and so what they review is most often intertwined with the "number of applications received" paving the way for either a critical or flexible eligibility review to the following:

1. Financial capacity/Means of funding

2. Genuineness of an application(done at their discretion)

3. Family composition(this is common and is entwined with point 1)

4. Review of several components that reflects always on refusal letters/arising concerns of the VO which are:

a. Assessment of your purpose of visit(intertwined to point 1) by scrutinizing your choice of course, program, sponsor, SOP/LOE in its entirety etc

b. Home ties by reviewing your legal status to your CoR or Home country and level of establishment both economical or social likewise general reasonableness.

c. Veracity and an Authenticity of an applicant. These VOs wants applicants to lie to an extent but in a sincere way of an actual reasonableness.

d. Other factors subtly based on the VO's discretion.

Disclaimer

The stated assertions was opined from both personal observations, gcms notes, and logical assumptions; though with influx element of facts.

Firstly, congratulations on your phd letter. It's a monumental achievement to get that from a top top!!! University. You should gather the following:
1. Since you are research inclined have the supervisors et all you've worked with give ou a reference letter to back your claims. That way you begin a comprehensive timeline of your activities since your last academic program.

2. You still need to show proof of finance most especially living expense so your parents soa is acceptable together with their property documents (2-3) is fine.

3. You also need a detailed SOP to explain why and what you intend to do after your phd program.

Other than this I think you are ready, those VO's won't know what hit them. All the best and we are all rooting for a successful application. All the best.

Thank you for these helpful tips @qudkom. Congratulations on your approval

Congratulations darling. I love seeing more African women phds.
Check your tuition against your funding. Do you have an excess of 10,000 + after tuition deduction? If so, just get your mum or dad to attach their account statement or source of fund as a supplement. Let the person (the parent ) write a letter of support not sponsorship that he/she is aware of your funding from school and wants to support you for travelling expenses and miscellaneous costs.

Make sure in your imm 1294e form, You stress in the funding/ sponsor part it's ' University full Ph.D funding. Let them know it's your source of fund. You'll have no problem. I wish you the best!

Thank you so much @schonebaby. After deducting tuition and some mandatory fees, I will be left with a little less than 10000. From enquiries on cost of living, the scholarship will not be enough so like you suggested I will need to get a letter of support from my parents. Thanks again.

Hello 4evaco,

With this excerpt of information provided, it seems to me that this your application would scale through positively. The details is very straight forward but what you've failed to state in inclusion is:

1. The amount cost of your tuition fees

2. Current resident location

3. What's your Home ties to either your current resident location/home country outside your parents landed properties/your connection to their properties given your family composition

4. The funds available to you personally outside your parents 11m+

5. Your marital status which also would connect several dots in relating to your home ties and financial support - what position your spouse would be playing in this twist of SP and financial capacity.

6. Given you have an infant baby, if you is applying as a sole applicant or with an accompanying dependent(of your infant child)

Irrespective the case, this is a buildup assumption/assertion(though might as well be fact) from my opinionated hints which is as follows:

1. Sponsorship: Given that your parents has in the past acted as a reliable and capable sponsor for your Masters degree enables a cutting edge of credibility both in financial sufficiency and parental support for a child. There will be no need to doubt their sponsorship capability/prowess this time around, cast it out either via the window or via the back door because such doubt doesn't worth casting through the front door.

Your family composition is perfectly okay as your siblings are "almost" not reliant on your parents for "most" of their necessities except maybe for one serving/doing NYSC which could also be converted to your own sponsorship advantage of, in quote: "my parents have 5 children and only 1 of the 5 is dependent of them" when constructing your SOP. This gives the VO a clear view of your family composition, killing two birds with one stone of been:

a. Able to meet financial requirement/sufficiency with your parents 11m+ sponsorship funds. This would be more certain and concrete if you can show at least some funds to cater of your LE in your personal account statement. If also your father has a pension account(even if the funds isn't huge), it would go a distance to support the traditional account.

b. That at the point of your sponsorship, despite their own personal "parental" needs, their is "not much" of "children" responsibilities to cater for given to the family composition. This dots can be further connected and related upon intuitively with your SOP.

2. Home ties: Relating to this subject in the aforementioned list of details you omitted, its unclear to give a state of your current place of residence but I would place an assumption of you been oversea which would require you showing to "an extent," some ties of either economic or social there and same similarity applies to your home country. This gives the VO no choice of being an opportunist to critical scrutinize your application/eligibility in this area.

Nonetheless, showing ties to your home country could be more easier owing to the fact that your parents have several landed properties which in the case you don't have your personal property, they can easily gift you one or state you in an authenticated written document as a heir. In all, your home ties must be social or economical, or both.

I will stop here.

I hope this answers your question/ease your curiosity to an extent.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the critical points you raised concerning my case. But this your grammar no be here oh. I carry dictionary dey read am. I just want to acknowledge your reply. Considering how important the points are to my application, I would like to take my time to respond to them so that I can get a helpful feedback from you. Thank you again.

Thanks for the response

You seem to have good hometies. But I must warn lumpsum deposits is a huge redflag and I will advice you not to dump money in your account especially if it doesn't tally with previous bank transactions. Your wives assets can be used as hometies that way the VO understands in your temporary absence your family will cope well. You also don't need to open any dom account or whatsoever pay your tuition for a semester together with other documents and you are fine. Also find a way around the deposit.

Thanks @Bracha

Bracha:
Hello,

1. Just pay the lump sum into your account and leave that money there as proof. They want to see you have enough money to take care of yourself, while your investments show you have money, they don't know if the money will be available immediately you need it. That's why we advise enough cash be in the account that will be presented.
2. Yes, your spouse can be a co-sponsor.
3. I don't know about the domiciliary account. Austacus can help with this.
4. Yes you can, but make sure the statement of account has the required amount in it. i.e tuition + 10,000cad (if you haven't paid tuition).

Hopefully someone else gives you a more detailed advice.

@JustMellow you too much
Thanks a lot n lolzzz cheesy @ the concrete floor

JustMellow:

You mentioned you is married, which is quite to your advantage when selling off your most priced possessions(Land and Car). Its good you swiftly realize that the VOs value liquid funds as proof of funds to mutual funds, bonds, treasury bills, fix deposits etc(though these can be vital as a support for proof of funds/home ties).

The liquid funds after the sales from your most priced possessions shouldn't be deposited into the/your account intended to be used for your visa application to boycott a lump sum/huge fund deposit but there could be clearly other means to present/show this liquid funds to the VOs without any rousing scrutiny/suspiciousness by either:

1. Approach your bank discuss the intended purpose of the meeting, deposit the funds in installments at intervals(if time is not your nemesis), get your account officer to recycle the funds to blend with records, give a fee.

2. Have the liquid funds deposited in your wife's account, then get her to transfer the funds to your account with a written letter of support, as funds contributed towards your career/personal advancements for the sake of the family's future/reasonableness. The letter will ease the thoughts of the VO.

3. Even your parents can do point 2 if you don't want to use your wife.

To your other questions:

1. The best way to thread after the liquidation of your investments is to at least pay for either a semester/1yr tuition from the funds, better than incarcerating it again in treasury bill or fix deposit(I guess you already know why by now).

2. Very well, in fact, it transcends far to show that she can thrive comfortably in your absence and even vouch for any action taken for the aforementioned in point 2 with proper evidence to back up her source of funds.

3. In as much as this is credible but no need for too much long thing especially when there are varieties of substitute. If the teeth can chew meat, go for fish which is even cheaper and easier to cook and offer same protein - just use your savings/current/cooperate account then support it with your RSA(its sage not to apply with this alone).

4. Very okay, this way, your home ties is even stronger than a concrete floor, even include the car.

I do hope you get the scope, good luck!

When you ate being sponsored you dont really need to declare anything in your path. And your age and status in your country is also important. For example, if you've been out of uni for 10yrs married and all then your financial portfolio will be different to someone fresh out of university.

At the eligibility review stage your full application is analysed. This is the stage where

1. A VO can pass your application to another colleague should incase anything needs clarification.

2. Employment verification*** and other document verification is done.

3. Your reasons for coming to canada is analysed. If the vo isn't convinced then it doesn't matter if you've done medicals it can still be rejected.

4. Your bank statements can be confirmed from the head office at this stage. Godforbid if it is fake then misrepresentation immediately! !!

5. If you've provided your travel history this can be verified. They can check if you overstayed, if the informations shared in your past application is coherent with the information with them etc.

6. They can verify employment prospects in your home country to see if it talies enough to compel you to come back home and all.

7. Family composition and sponsor(s) dependents is checked. And many more.....

Both are Family Information Forms. Some applicants are required to submit IMM5645E. Some are asked for an IMM5707 Form. Who needs to submit what is not clear. But the right form is whatever is written on your Documents Checklist. If the form you downloaded contains parent information, siblings, spouse and children then you are good to go
