Please what is this thing called?

It goes to the AC compressor and wiring on top goes the Fan
and relay/fuse box.

Sorry the picture isn't that great. Can only take a picture from the top

It's like a small cylinder. Is there a sensor on top of it?

the cylindrical aluminum part is called a drier receiver, the electrical part on top of it is called a pressure switch.

Good afternoon, I have a Corolla 2006. I scanned it and it showed P0420. My mechanic cleared it and said I should not worry. I travelled down to Ibadan from Enugu and the error is back. Kindly help as I noticed the fuel consumption is a bit high. Currently in Ibadan but based in Enugu

Catalytic converter is bad. A complete replacement costs about 80-120k for a used one. A brand new one costs 360,000.

the expense is not worth it in the long run, unless you can afford to buy the new one.

i've been here a few weeks ago, spent the money on a used one and the light came back on after 5 days.

The reasons can be a lot, if you start looking for problems on the recommendation of each user, you will do a lot of extra work, if you do not guess the first time. I advise you to use the car maintenance app and identify the problem yourself or with the help of a certified specialist. Perhaps it will be a little more expensive, but effectively. And perhaps cheaper if you start to try to look for problems on their own

There is ECT: electronically controlled transmission

ECT: Engine coolant temperature.

A scan through the engine system will only reveal engine fault, same with abs, and transmissions.

For your Accord. You do need a mechanic to run this checks for you. So you do not blind fixes.

This is a Input shaft/speed sensor.

The only ECT on that accord is Engine coolant temperature sensor 1 or 2

The point is, he needs to get a competent tech to fix that problem. And ECT could translate either of those.

Then also, he probably just scanned the engine to have got just an engine coolant temperature code.

So oga demeanor, do you need any further tory undecided

Oga sir, If he had not specified the car.. You might have been right.. But for an EOD, ECT can only be Engine coolant temp sensor 1 or 2.. No EOD has electronically controlled transmission code... That term is used in Toyota's I think..
