A 17-year-old boy identified as Aliyu and his 15-year-old fiancée, Aisha, have released their prewedding pictures ahead of their wedding, next week, in Sokoto.

According to inside reports, Aliyu is following his family tradition of marrying early. .

It’s gathered that male children of his family marry at the age of 17, while the female ones marry at 15. .

However, in extreme cases, they marry at the age of 19. The tradition was allegedly embraced to prevent them from fornicating and also to allow them see their grandchildren.

I cannot think of anything worse wed at 15. Never seeing the world or having experienced life?

Couldn't they do that together?

It works out well for some especially those from able homes... my niece married at 17, and it was her choosing.

How am I turning into a tribalist? I'm not the one that brought ethnicity into this discussion. Two people made comments regarding certain tribes & in both posts I asked questions. I think you're just projecting. I have no dog in this fight, so I have no reason to be tribalistic. Tribalistic? NO. Forward? Maybe grin

Yeah.
Islam doesn’t put unnecessary pressure on Muslims .
And that’s great !
True!I attended two separate weddings reception yesterday, a muslim and a Christian wedding. At the Muslim's, simple but elegant, quality of food ok. 30 minutes max. ate, snapped with my friend, the groom and left. I didnt set my eyes on the bride nor any women around the place we ate. Then i went to attend my female an acquaintance a Christian...The hall alone, the decor, the cake 5 steps, the glamour, the people, i couldnt get where to sit... i think we spend well too much on weddings! Can we simply make it simple and focus on other matters?

No, it said it in the article I read that the note is in Hausa & a few Hausa-speaking people even translated the contents of the writing.
