It is always best to be honest with your application. What do you do at the moment? Are your parents still working and who is sponsoring the trip?
THanx for replying. I am working for a small company. My mom is in charge of my late dad's properties. My mom and myself is sponsoring.

A 3 years permit is not a permanent resident permit so the answer should be NO

Pls who else was invited for interview after drop box visa renewal? This is my 4th visa renewal and I haven't had problems renewing in the past. My first interview was in London while I was doing my masters. My husband has a valid USA visa. He travelled in Jan spent 2weeks and came back. (He too was invited for interview after drop box and was issued visa). I don't have family in USA. The last time I spent 6weeks as against 4weeks ( i was stamped 6months entry). I was supposed to stay because I had conjunctivitis (Apollo) and shifted my ticket till I felt better. I have a good travel history with uk and eu. I am not pregnant and don't have kids and I would be travelling alone. Any idea why this happened and possible questions? Thanks a lot!

At times it happens like that. Try a different browser or try much later at night when the site is less saturated.

good day house.

please I have a question, I have a visit visa to the us, and I just 8months left and I will like to move to the US, continue my accca exams and possibily get citizenship without the far of deportation cz I had the laws are very strict now. please any useful info on that will be appreciated.

The only useful info you need is for you not to try it.

So much is at stake, especially deportation & a ban.

This is the reason why Nigeria’s denial rate is high.

It is illegal.

YES, you are a permanent resident in the country as long as you have the resident card. Choose Yes, and put the country name.

What is the difference?
USING ITALY FOR EXAMPLE AND SAME GOES FOR MOST OF THE COUNTRIES IN THE EU. A PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT IS THE EQUIVALENT OF WHAT IS KNOWN AS GREEN CARD IN THE USA . IN MOST EU COUNTRY IT'S CALLED THE E.U PERMIT FOR LONG PERIOD AND IN ITALY IT'S CALLED CARTA SORGIONO PER LUNGO PERIODO . OTHER PERMITS IN THE FORM OF 6MONTHS, 1 YEAR , 2 YEARS OR 3 YEARS ARE NOT PERMANENT HENCE IT NEEDS TO BE RENEWED UPON EXPIRY IF CERTAIN CONDITIONS ARE MET. PLEASE NOTE THAT PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT IN ITALY DOESN'T NEED RENEWAL.
IN ITALY IF YOU HAVE A PERMANENT RESIDENT PERMIT YOU CAN STAY OUTSIDE THE E.U FOR A MAXIMUM OF 1YEAR AND STILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY TO ITALY, OR STAY OUTSIDE ITALY FOR 6 YEARS BUT REMAIN WITHIN THE E.U DURING THIS 6 YEARS OR ELSE YOU WILL LOOSE IT. BUT WITH OTHER PERMIT YOU CAN'T DO THIS.
I HOPE YOU NOW KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

THE POSTER SAYS HE HAS A 3 YEAR RESIDENCE PERMIT THAT MEANS AFTER 3 YEARS IT NEEDS TO BE RENEWED IF CERTAIN CONDITIONS ARE MET. 3 YEARS RESIDENCE PERMIT IS NOT PERMANENT. THE POSTER COULD HELP BY TELLING US IF THE PERMIT IS A STUDY PERMIT , WORK PERMIT , REFUGEE OR PERMIT FOR HUMANITARIAN REASON.

He can tell where is applying for. If he has a card, he is a permanent resident even if it's two years. If he is not a resident, he can't apply from the country. He must go to his country of birth.

FOLMUS DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME. I DIDN'T SAY HE OR SHE CAN'T APPLY FROM WHEREVER HE OR SHE IS LIVING AT THE MOMENT EITHER TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY . I WAS ONLY TRYING TO PASS A MESSAGE TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER BECAUSE HE ASKED ABOUT RESIDENCE PERMIT AND WANTED TO KNOW IF TO SELECT PERMANENT RESIDENT BASED ON HIS OR HER QUESTION. .
HERE IS A LINK FROM WIKIPEDIA THAT TALKS ABOUT THIS MORE. WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP EACH OTHER OUT. I AM JUST GIVING THE ORIGINAL POSTER AN ANSWER BASED ON MY OWN UNDERSTANDING OF HIS OR HER QUESTION.

Sure! I quite understand your message. Since we don't know his country of residence, we may have this divergent opinions. However, 3 years is not a temporary residency. If he has a resident card, he is a permanent resident of the country. He is different from a tourist who can't enjoy enjoy what he can enjoy. We are all here to learn. someone wrote the content on wikipedia and quora based on what he or she knows. I am telling you too what I know. Cheers!

FOLMUS I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT IN YOUR OPINION REGARDING THE RESIDENCE CARD.
BUT FROM MY OWN UNDERSTANDING, THE POSTER WAS REFERING TO RESIDENCE PERMIT AND NOT RESIDENCE CARD. FROM WHAT I KNOW A RESIDENCE PERMIT AND A RESIDENCE CARD COULD MEAN 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. BUT JUST AS U RIGHTLY SAID SINCE WE DON'T KNOW HIS COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE ONE CAN'T BE TOO SURE. THANKS

Hello guys!
Thank you all for the great work you're doing here.
Please guys, I have few questions that I could sincerely use your help with and it's quite urgent.

A friend of mine (and her husband) wants to attend her friend's wedding in the US, the said friend that is getting married is willing to send her invite. They have 3 kids, she owns a registered business (a school) and her husband owns another registered business, they have landed properties and other tangible ties. Their intention is sincere and will return back to Nigeria to face their lives.
Now my questions are:
1. Do they need to fill separate DS-160 forms?
2. Should the letter indicate that she and her husband are invited or just her?
3. Aside filling the form, paying the fees and booking an interview date, is there any other thing we're missing?
4. What and what should they go with during interview to help their case?
5. Is there any way they can include their kids so that subsequently in the future they can all travel for holidays? Or should they apply for just themselves now and apply whenever they're ready to holiday as a family?
I promised her I'd help her get as much information as I can because the agent they wanted/want to use is asking for almost a million naira. So I consulted few pages from each part of this wonderful thread, and I might not have enough time to go through the thousands of pages. More so, some of the info are as far back as 2011-2015 and i believe some rules or procedures must have been changed, knowing fully well how sensitive US immigration is at the moment. So please if you all don't mind assisting as much as you can. Thank you all so much, God bless you

It's not polite to use all caps. It is used when you are emphasizing words. When in an entire sentence/post, you are shouting.

Yes they have to.

2. Should the letter indicate that she and her husband are invited or just her?
Both. Or the whole family since you suggested it below in

3. Aside filling the form, paying the fees and booking an interview date, is there any other thing we're missing?
Evidence of financial capability.

4. What and what should they go with during interview to help their case?
Self confidence and other items the gurus will post about. Alongside the appointment confirmation. GTPay. Passports

5. Is there any way they can include their kids so that subsequently in the future they can all travel for holidays? Or should they apply for just themselves now and apply whenever they're ready to holiday as a family?
If they can show financial capability and the dates don't fall during school period. They can apply for the whole family.

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by iyaaliya: 7:31am On Apr 21, 2019
kelEmi, you don’t even need invitation from anyone. Cos they don’t even check it. It is useless to the bearer. But if your friend will be staying with the friend, she can have her address and contact to fill in the form. However, the important question is how did that friend get to the US? This is important to the entire application.
Yes, they fill different forms but they must fill each other’s name where they ask if any other person is traveling with you and they tie up their applications in their profile when booking for an interview date.
Pay visa fee, fill Form 160 honestly and upload passport photograph. Nothing more.
Documents to take depend on your situation u r presenting to the VO BUT VOs are NOT interested in documents!! Taking your confirmation page, passport and payment receipt is importanta here.
Taking your child is your choice but if not going with you , no need filling a form too unless they ask for dependents in the form(this I can’t remember if I have seen before or not) but they are LIKELY to ask how many children you have at the interview.
Now, has your friend traveled with her family before?

@kelEMI, they need to fill ds-160 for each person, going with kids is a choice, invite can be sent to cover everyone but my concern is how that friend made it to the U.S, another concern is the travel history of your friend and if the whole family has ever traveled together?lastly tell your friend NOT to patronise any agent, las las come back here we will assist to the best our knowledge but being honest during the whole process Is key,not only for today but for future application
