kaen1317: If the government is to build refinery, it has to find the money And it costs 10bn USD to build just one refinery. We need at least 4 of them. Oil is very low...and is going lower...harsh effect on our revenues. So we are left with foreign investment...or Nigeria takes another loan. 2 Likes |

Why are they acting like their is no refinery in Nigeria? They can't make what we have to work dey are planning on building another. The problem of Nigeria infrastructure is adequate maintenance. 1 Like |

Sirchef: There is. The problem is, NNPC is spending the money that they would have used to build refinery on subsidy. NNPC cannot make a profit because maintianing the subsidy means that they buy fuel at N180, sell at N145, and cover their lossess with N35 per liter of PMS...which makes things worse. That's why Atiku's idea of privatising NNPC plus removing subsidy would make NNPC profitable enough to build refineries. Just like the Saudi ARAMCO...which is a private company really. 1 Like |

Olawalesmarter: Saudi ARAMCO is a private company and one of the big oil companies. Saudi Aramco (Arabic: أرامكو السعودية ʾArāmkō al-Saʿūdiyyah), officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, (formerly Arabian-American Oil Company), is a Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.[4][5] Sauce: Wikipedia. this is not a welcomed development, one thing is certain they would milk Nigeria oil resources via the establishment, on matters of employment 80 percent on skilled labour would be from Saudi, while 10 percent of skilled labour from NiG and the remaining 10 would be unskilled labour that they would surprise to severe Hazardous working conditions even the skilled labour from the country won't be left out And moreover would they allow a Nigerian owned refinery in their country "NO" they won't and if they do 70 percent or so of the ownership would be theirs while the remaining 30 percent of the ownership would for that NiG investor if you doubt me check for fact This APC govt should realize that power won't last forever 1 Like |

Federal government should be careful with the way they deal with foreign government, some foreign government are be control by terrorists organizations |
Re: Saudi Arabia To Build Refinery In Nigeria by Nobody: 1:25pm On Apr 25, 2019 |
Turantula: Saudi ARAMCO is a big oil company that is valued at $1.2trillion . Not a 'terror' company. And you people don't complain when we do business with China...who persecutes religious people , Christians inclusive, or with any of the colonial powers who have committed crimes as well...or even the USA...who has also done it's share of violence over the decades...including sponsoring terror attacks.Or Russia...who has sposnored terror groups, and also done its own violence share. Mind, I don't like Saudi either too. 1 Like |
