Don't mind them...later they'll be crying that foreigners are treating them bad in their own country. All the useless politician cannot use common sense to invest the stolen money in something reasonable that will employ youths and make good money. All they know how to do is steal.money and go on vacation in Dubai, UK, America with different kind of prostitutes, buy houses in other countries and fill up their garages with fleets of cars that they won't drive. They buy houses everywhere like birds and leave the houses empty as people can barely afford the rent.
They will.be making noise about foreign investors as if they cannot use their own money to.invest in their country.

Make them kuku sell the country.

Dear Saudi Arabia,

Lagos, Ogun, Ondo states are open for you to build it.

We assure you that neither your installations will be vandalised nor your workers kidnapped.

Moreover, we also have the seaports to berth your equipment and also ship your finished products.

We are open for business.

Thanks.

See one ipod yoot as usual displaying raw ignorance as others cheer him on with likes, saying Nigerian government is importing terrorism doing business with Saudi Arabia. I'm sure the ignoramus dont even know some of the biggest business interests in the western world are owned by the same Saudis, from Europe to the Americas.

How did one come about sharing the same planet with these things for God's sake?

If the government is to build refinery, it has to find the money

And it costs 10bn USD to build just one refinery. We need at least 4 of them.

Oil is very low...and is going lower...harsh effect on our revenues.

So we are left with foreign investment...or Nigeria takes another loan.
as they use to say "lets sell the country and share the money"
Re: Saudi Arabia To Build Refinery In Nigeria by Sagay212: 1:39pm On Apr 25, 2019

There is.

The problem is, NNPC is spending the money that they would have used to build refinery on subsidy.

NNPC cannot make a profit because maintianing the subsidy means that they buy fuel at N180, sell at N145, and cover their lossess with N35 per liter of PMS...which makes things worse.

That's why Atiku's idea of privatising NNPC plus removing subsidy would make NNPC profitable enough to build refineries. Just like the Saudi ARAMCO...which is a private company really.

Stop making excuses for a useless and failed government. They can fix the refinery if they want to. They have refused to fix it because of evil money they gain from importing fuel. Fix the existing refinery and they will.make their money in the long run. We cannot be waiting for foreign investors to cone and do everything for us. Very soon we will be waiting for foreign churches and mosques to come build religious houses. Wait for foreign hospitals and schools and maybe even foreign farms and foods. What are we using our own money for?

What's wrong with foreign investment? That's what transformed Singapore which was either as poor as Nigeria in 1965 or even poorer into a super rich country today.

The best paying companies in Nigeria today are Western multinationals.

If a company makes sales of 1billiom and a profit of 150m and assume they repatriate all their profits, what of the N850m left? Most of that will stay in the country.

If foreigners are not keen on expanding operations in your country, it means your country is doing something wrong. It's an indictment on you and not them.

One thing still baffles me, when will Nigeria (Giant of Africa) build her own refinery by herself. What is stopping us from doing so? If a single person(Dangote) is trying to build one, how come a whole country is unable to build. Somebody should please enlighten me cos I don't get.

The same Dunce screaming terrorism would travel to muslim majority countries like Malaysia, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, only to become cultist, drug dealers and Bank robbers.

They arent Nigerians, they are children of hate from biafra and Cameroon who feel their right to insult the government is threatened should any good stuff happen to Nigeria. Therefore, the only time they celebrate is at the sound of bad news over deaths of Nigerian citizens or economic woes of the country.

Take note of such monikers and pay no heed to their idiotic ramblings.

Not exactly. The market is millions of miles away from saturation, therefore, the inclusion of one or two more players wouldn't as much as make a dent on the projected earnings 9f any of the players.

We have been on subsidy since the 1970's.

Subsidy means you sell fuel below the cost of production, and government pays the difference. No profit can be made, and as a result, no money for investment in new refinereis, among other things.

Plus, the last refinery we have was built in 1988. If all of them are working at full capacity, they would be able to give us 20m liters of fuel a day...when we need 50-70m liters of fuel a day.

If we removed subsidy, the investment would flow in, and more jobs would be created and far more money would be made than there was with subsidy. Need I say that prices would come down within a few years.?

And importing fuel would be something of the past.

When I say that a typical black man has no functional brain nor sense of self-worth, folks will beg to disagree.

Instead of looking for internal solutions plaguing the nation, Nigeria runs around looking for other races/people to come and lead her when they have all it takes to be great. What is the meaning of education in Nigeria?

Borrow. Buy. Sign. At no point will one hear invent, think, produce as a lingo in Nigeria.

I doubt if this will come into play... Dangote struggle when he has competitors and this can be seen in his tomatoes and pasta business unlike cement and sugar where he has monopoly but let's see how this will play out. I am actually interested in this.
