Nice work @ op, your work looks promising... Pls tell me more abt water [borehole ] did u dig or do u intend to, I ave a intended site to b situated in Nsk town besides unn, and I heard that water digging is very costly in enugu not excluding nsk.... Tell me more about it

Though this project is at Nike not Nsukka but we did a manual bore hole of about 80ft, though the test conducted advice we can get water at 30feet but to be on the safe side we went up to 80feet.

Really Nsukka water level is very low, someone went up to 800 feet deep to get water and some other was just 600 feet below the surface for water in the same Nsukka area.

So water in Nsukka is not easy , i was adviced to buy water from water tankers if am handling any project in Nsukka. Is that bad some lucky ones get water at 300feet even depending the part in Nsukka.

Tnks man ur response was really helpful but that water issue down there (NSK) is really giving me headaches the bill for water construction which was given to me was within 2.5m to 3m... After checking out two contractors, the suggestion of using tankers seems good but how much do u think I will burn out b4 finishing 3 storey building, in the end if I decide to construct the borehole definitely I must sell water within there......

Just budget about 25 to 30 water tanker (full load) × 7,000 or 8,000 = 175,000 or 240,000 as the case may be.

However, is better to have a permanent water source (bore hole) in the premises hence is for tenants. That will add value to the house and you can aswell generate some income from it too.

I prefer white doors, is exceptional with a good touch of finishing.

Also metal doors are stonger, safer and cheaper.

Based on test conducted on the soil we may likely get a good water at 30 feet .

So, we started opening the ground with intention to hit 150 feet if the water recharging rate didn't stop us

As the new well goes deeper we have to fill up the other well with sand and possibly build an overhead tank stand on it.... That is the only position that will not deface the building with the overhead tank stand we are considering beauty too.

So we shut down the other well and excavated for the tank stand.



By calculation, a 10 ton trip of sand will fill up a well of about 35ft depth by 3feet width. So we fill up the well with sharp sand which better.

The rolling gate we have here is an unusual one, There was serious need to manage space and this concept was birthed ...follow me

The first wing of the gate opens by rolling out by the fence wall and the second follows all by the wall area.

We where able to get water at 27ft but wish to have a year round sustenance so we went deeper to 64 ft.


From the rate the well is recharging we are very sure of 12,000 litres every week with such result we can now introduce submersible pump.
