We live in a country where killing of snakes is seen as a lifetime achievement. In Brazil, people had to stop their vehicles just for a snake to cross the road.

But over here in Nigeria, people will invade a snake territory all in the name of some stupid expedition, kill the poor animal, take pictures with it and show it off on social media like its some sort of trophy. Where is your humanity? Where is equity? Where is justice?

You are calling a snake "POOR"......
I pity your Destin......
well... if it's a poor snake, you can leave it with your children at home....

When snake enter your compound Or house, park out of the place for the animal to continue to live there. . ...
Over population and encroachment into these animals territories is what is making humans to have constant contact with them.
If venomous snake has ever bitten you before you will not be talking thrash.

Even though so many humans have this visceral fear of snakes, they are there for a reason. They have their own part to play in keeping the ecosystem in balance. Remove them from the equation and just watch what happens.

This is the same way vultures were ignorantly regarded as one of nature's mistakes - ugly, filthy creatures that blight all they touch. What isn't widely known is that they are nature's waste disposal experts - efficiently clearing up carrion and preventing the spread of disease. Many years ago, they were a common sight in several states in Nigeria. Sadly, I have not seen a single vulture in the last 30 years and I have travelled to and from several states in Nigeria. It would be interesting to see what the biologists/ornithologists have to say about this.

What are you saying? Venomous snake and humanity? What type of books are you reading? You think the snake that was allowed to cross freely in Brazil would be allowed if it posed threat to them? Even in saner climes, stray, wild or dangerous animals are shot at sight in certain circumstances. It is instinct that tells people to attack first when they come across anything that poses threat. When you see a viper in your room, go to bed and sleep since it is humanity. I am not for animal brutality, but you don't take chances with venomous snakes around you. A farm is not a zoo or a park where these animals are well monitored. If a scorpion stings you once, you won't even say what you're saying. A droplet of the venom from some snakes can kill up to 100 fully grown men, Mr. Humanity.
lol help us tell d stupid guy dat snake his talking about was a green Python and therez no history of green Python attacking humans , dis a venom snake viper 4 dat matter

Maybe you don't understand his post. I was watching snake hunters on NatGeo Wild and I saw how the deadliest snake in Africa (black mamba second only to King cobra) were removed on different occasions from homes and released into their natural habitat. If they can be removed from home safely without killing them, a farm is far less. Mind You, I don't like snakes but I just wanted to point out something

These snake hunters have experiences, protection and the right equipments.
You expect mere Agric students on pytp with only cutlasses and boots to capture. Lol

Not that man, there's no regard for animal lives in Nigeria, or Africa in general. They even kill whales for food in Nigeria. It's pathetic

I'm really fascinated about snakes, I love studying them a lot. if only human will understand their nature we'll hardly get bitten....

One thing I've come to know is: snakes don't like wasting their venom on what they can't eat, every human bite is just the act of self defense after several warnings.

My favorite show on DSTV are "Snake Island" "Snakes in the City"
NatGeo Wild is my favorite channel, I hate when this beautiful and gentle creatures are being killed.

99.9% of snake bites are as the results of human trespassing, snakes don't just bite without warning. The truth is they avoid contact with us more than we do....
I agree with you man, i have experienced it on different occasion, they move around to look for food, sometimes new homes, mates and different stuff like that, but when they sight any human, they try to run away, but if you run after them, then they turn and attack you.

Even agriculturist who where to protect the life and species of crops and animals are the one destroying it.
Not all 'agriculturists' protect the life of species of crops and animals. Take crops for example. A cassava, yam, potato, or any other table crop producer will weed his farmland of species like Eluisine indica, Phyllantus amarus and Phyllantus nuriri.
So you see, the 'agriculturists' are the ones to define what stays on their farmland, be it crop or animal species.

peter talked about saving trees , he would cry and go naked to campaign against cutting trees how ironic peter died a few years later ,he was crushed by a huge tree by the side of his house ,why? he refuses to cut the tree down when he should have , one hour in a room filled with your non venomous snakes will reveal the animal activist in you.

tell them. those snakes have ambitions and a future too. they're just being heartless just because they are superior. I wonder how powerful these snack killers would be if all the Lions in the forest decide to have a show among men. I hope they can still boldly batter their heads

Inasmuch as I am in support of wildlife preservation, I support the killing of any snake that strays into a human habitat . (This one excluded) I have seen firsthand, a Man who got bitten by a mamba. He died less than 12 hours later.

Google the word "Inland Taipan" . After doing that you will fear snakes
. BTW, the guy you quoted was right. A single drop of the Inland Taipan's venom can kill 100 fully grown men in less than 35 to 45 minutes.

Read! Read! Don't rely on one source. That you didn't hear such from your purported documentary does not make it a lie. Here you have it: https:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inland_taipan and https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2209256/amp/Teenager-fights-life-bitten-snake-kill-100-men-ONE-DROP-venom.html.

I have contributed my bit towards fighting ignorance. Now, you can see what is poor is brandishing ignorance by relying on just documentary.
