You can apply without IELTS, it's not a requirement.
2. Most schools don't require you to pay tuition upfront BUT working full time while schooling is impossible. Therefore, I'll advise you take your time to build your finances and other required parameters (please see the first page of this thread for more info.) before you begin an application for admission to universities (you'll need to pay application fees and tuition fees) and an application for a study visa.

Good luck.

Please does anyone here have any idea on

1. how I can apply for Student Visa to Canada without using IELTS??

And

2. which schools in Canada won’t require me to pay any upfront tuition fees ( I wish to work and pay off when I get there) ??

I wish to do a Postgraduate MSC course over there so I’m really in search of how I can achieve this dream

Thanks

Hello house, in my SOP, can I talk about the different times I tried to join the Nigeria military and paramilitary respectively as plans after studies and reasons to leave Canada after my graduate study.
ps: I've documents such as acknowledgement cards applicants are asked to print out to back my claim up.
Also, I've interest in Nig polictics in the nearest future strictly as a lawmaker. My course is a kind of course such that it can be fussed /incorporated into my two different ambitions which is military or politics and also it wil be very helpful to nation building.. Thank you.

I am sorry for the delay. You have got good finances as you have 7kCAD extra from your funding. There's also good educational progression. Travel history is not a must as we have seen others get TRV without one. The only impediment I see here that is cogent is your current employment situation.

Thanks so much for the response. Please what do i do to tackle the current employment situation?

Hi are you online now. Can u answer immediately please.
I want to ask you a question and I want you to look at your imm 1294e form and get back to me. 2 funded masters student in previous thread made this mistake and they were refused trv. They corrected it and they were granted.
What did you fill in the funding part. That part that shows funding a) self b) parent c) other.
Also how much did you fill the in amount of fund beside ot

Everything I'll be writing here is my opinion from the little knowledge I have.

The money in your account is small; if they refused you based on funds, then your funds are low. Increase that amount or get a co-sponsor who would show their willingness to support you by either paying a part of your tuition or paying the money earmarked for the sponsorship. I'd advise they pay a part of your tuition.
Even if they do pay a part of your tuition, you need more money in that your account.

I'd have said you should wait till after your NYSC to reapply but I suspect you're in a hurry because of that mouthwatering Graduate Assistantship you have there, so I'll say you should write a banging SOP addressing the rest; because of the NYSC and the employability reasons, I'll advise you remove that unemployed and put your NYSC place of employment.

I don't see the relevance of Nos. 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21. The documents that concern your extended family aren't relevant in my opinion. Your wife is the only family you need to prove as a home tie, and if you have children that'd even be better. Unless you're the one taking care of your mom, then you can explain that in your SOP/LOE.

The purchase agreement is for a family land, not a personal one, so why will that bring you back home? I'd have used the family land as a supporting document for funds (this is for online application) while in my SOP I'll write why that decision was made, going as far as to say that the land can be sold if I get short on money.

Work on your home ties please. Show how that degree will work for you here in Nigeria.

Please remember that these are my opinion. Someone else may have a contrary view. I wrote all the above based on my limited knowledge of the application process.

Godspeed.

Thanks so much for taking your time to type me your opinion.

Please, does it mean that there is no difference between "Insufficient fund" and "personal asset and financial status" refusal reasons?

The fund i got is an award, to be paid when i resume. Its not something i will do Assistantship for before i get.

The current place of employment i stated in my application is NYSC and i explained its a compulsory volunteer service for graduates who intend to work in Nigeria after graduation.

I have taken note of the irrelevant documents i need to remove.

Your opinion is highly appreciated!

God bless you.

My question to you is, have you made a decision on what exactly you want to go for....have u secured admission to a school...I will suggest u start reading this thread from the 1st page to get insight on what this Canada journey is all about...to answer your questions...

Yes u can get admission apply to schools without IELTS...Wat u have to do is find a school and look up their requirements...

Not so sure but I think memorial university and couple of other schools don't require u paying tuition immediately...I will also suggest u get a sponsor cos to study and work to pay your tuition fee is possible but incrediblely not gonna be easy...

thanks for the feedback... i was referred to Mount Allison University and Newbrunswick University but i really do not much about them except i heard they dont also require me to pay any upfront tuition payment.

How much do i need to save up as starting amount to pay for tuition?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Schonebaby: 10:34am On May 06, 2019
When will you be finishing your NYSC?
For God's sake, you shouldn't have put NYSC. Just ur ppa's name (Perharps a school or whatever) as ur employment place.
I hope u know if you leave before finishing NYSC, you have to do some underground runs for someone to complete it on ur behalf.
That compulsory NYSC info is absolutely not necessary.
However, I totally doubt that it was the reason for your refusal.
They have about five major reasons for denial :funds, purpose of visit, travel history, home tie (indicating ability to come back after validity expires) and study gap +career progression. employment Is not particularly a deal breaker.

i have the money to pay for any other expense and cost apart from the tuition... like how much do you think i need to save up for the tuition?

Plus, i wanted using an agent but they charged me 400k plus other expenses i will still have to make

i was adviced that its something i can do by myself rather than paying such huge amount to somebody

i will be really grateful if you can help me achieve my dreams by giving me relevant infos on how to go about all the processes

Top up your money to 3 million and above and reapply with the same documents you listed.

You're matured and married. 1.2 million in your account is not reasonable in the eyes of the VO that handled your application regardless of the funding.
(how would your folks cater in Nigeria?) ask yourself that question
If you're showing such little money, How much does your wifey has in her account? (common bro, you're married don't think for only yourself).

Ongoing NYSC is not the problem here.
They don't even recognise that sh**

Ok, thanks so much.

Good and fine u got a scholarship, if 1.2m is for flight. What about feeding, living expenses...thats was why you were denied on financial bases.. do not tell a VO you are doing your nysc, totally unnecessary. Plus certain docs u added to your app ain't needed...your application should be simple, light and straightforward...

Ok, i will note that. Thanks so much, God bless

what is the source of the 1.2mill and do you have experience on the field work of plant science

I explained it came from joint account i have with my wife, and from my mother in-law as a support.

Experience is I.T, and research skills through published paper. i am serving, i have not worked.

But seriously experience for a fresh graduate going for MSc in order to have a specialized research role upon return?

They are simply wicked!

The vo might not understand you having an account that’s financed by you, your wife and in-law to study abroad when the same course is available in your home country at extremely cheaper cost, bearing in mind that even the said amount wouldn’t be enough for your flight and cost of living. What will your wife live on? That might be the question the vo couldn't figure out and concluded that you are not a genuine student.
PS.my opinion.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by sillysassysally(f): 12:35pm On May 06, 2019
I have a friend whose situation was quite similar to yours. She got full funding for an MSc and her passport was semi-virgin (lol) the only time she had ever traveled out was to the UK when she was very little (like 4 years old). She was rejected on the basis of purpose of visit, travel history, personal asset (something very similar to yours). The second time she applied, she used consultants (Maple Education). Some of the things that i know she did differently includes:
1. Deferred her admission as she was already short on time
2. Wrote a banging SOP - I can send you the template she used
3. Even though she had full funding, she still used a sponsor (her dad) whose SOA could cover her cost of education

Like it has already been said, i would advise you to order your GCMS notes immediately as it'll give you more perspective to what the VO's line of thoughts are regarding your particular application. When you have done all your hard work, don't forget that "faith begins where facts and figures ends" - Omofar. I pray that what God has started (getting admission and full funding) would be perfected for you.

With that said, i noticed we do not have your timeline information. do you mind sharing?

AgroNACT:

Thanks so much.

I think i tried my best to explain the purpose of visit.

About SOA, pls, is $46800 not enough for the total duration when the tuition for the 2years is $13072?

Really, I explained the job prospects, i even got a recommendation letter from an International Scientist in that field in a reputable international agric research institute practicing in that line. He also explained the prospects.

Please do i really tackle this issues in my next application?

Stay blessed!

in "fund available for my stay" box, i typed the total sum for the stipend award for the two years period.

Any blunder please?

Please can I get a sample of a bank reference letter or a guide. I have checked on google but not sure if the templates I have seen will be good enough for the Canadian VOs as I am not sure of the kind of details they expect to see. Thank you.

If I got your question right...Do you mean the reference letter you get after printing out your bank account statement? If yes.......then you need not to worry about it, every bank has its template, yours is to indicate you need it for a visa application and also give them the appropriate visa office address for the letter. I hope this helps...

Pls I wanna ask, for som1 that did his medicals at Qlife...how long should I wait b4 the medical is updated in my cic account...
plus will Qlife call me to tell me they have sent it to the embassy?

Good Afternoon,

5 days there about should be enough. Check your CIC account after that, the medicals section will be updated to "medicals passed".

Not sure Q-Life will call you. Except for maybe something else.. I wasn't called after my examination about my results or when it it was submitted to CIC.

Hope this helps.....

Thank you for your reply. Not really, my sponsor's account manager who is also the branch manager wants to write a personalised bank reference for him to be used for my application, so I was asked to send a draft but I am not sure of the key information to include in it. By the way, is the bank reference letter that necessary?
