I am a very in passport holding travel to South Africa before month end, How much PAT do you suggest I should hold? How do I deal with the immigration guys since they are used to creating troubles especially with first time travellers.

Hold 3k in naira. Make sure you are there 2hours before Boarding commence. They surely will find a way to create trouble with you. Just stand there and let them know you don’t have money when they request from you. At the long Run when you see that it’s 1hour or some minutes before Boarding. Offer them 2k in naira. They will outrightly reject it. Just tell dem that’s all you have to part way with. They will accept it and if they don’t just add 1k and they will let you go

That’s how Bad the country is

Mad immigration officials.

Even when you come back, the way they treat foreigners is quite different from the way they treat citizens.

Corruption at all quarters.

You can imagine. Even in your country. I have hard countless stories on this harassment by these so called armed robbers especially fron first time travellers. Some even parted with as much as 500 dollars since they lack esperience as were scared they could miss thier flight.

I have determined to leave for the Airport port 5 hours before departure time. So that we can have ample time to drag all dragables.I still looking for a very technical way of handling them.

Please make a video of any official trying to extort you.

Be wise about it tho’. I have some people ready to take it up.

Even those checking your luggage will be asking for tips. Don’t give zilch. Sometimes they are tempted to call you stingy to your face if you don’t wet floor for them.

Even when you return, they treat you like a stranger while foreigners are treated like gods.

shine your eyes.

South Africa is good for someone willing to study or work and with your permit.

Not good for visitor who want to remain in the country with visitors visa.

South Africa requires those with critical skills that are not available in the country. Before one applies for critical skills visa should first have a job.

Hi,
With south africa study permit you can work for maximum of 20 hours per week (i.e 80 hour per month). You supervisor, department, faculty or any other unit within the school can give you assignment within this number of hours. you can as well take up any part-time job outside the school. You are legally covered.

Hope your question is answered.

Am talking from experience, Have been in SA for years and if you know your movement ita will not attack you.

When you go clubbing and show off, You inviting problem. There are skill jobs, People that do security jobs dont have papers or qualification.

When you enter without the right permit, you will always have problems.

Hello guys, please I need your kind contribution.
I am planning to resubmit the application for the renewal of my study permit.
I just want to know if I can submit the certified true copy of my South African
Police Clearance Certificate.
I submitted the original to the embassy during my first application that was
rejected in January. And applying for a new SAPS certificate will take close to
two months which honestly I don't have.
I was advised by a travel consultant that it should be acceptable, that I just add a
motivation letter explaining the situation.
I have all my other documents ready including the original Nigeria Police certificate.
Please guys what do you think?
Thanks.

It should be possible.

Since you have not been back in the Republic since you got the Police Clearance, you couldn't have committed any crime there. Also, since you were not rejected based on the Police Clearance Certificate, it shouldn't be a problem.

Please use the Certified True Copy (just make sure the date of the certification is not after you had submitted the original) and include a letter of motivation, explaining why you are using a CTC.
