One doesn't have to be clairvoyant to spot a poser. And Yes, I know as he's written here severally. He's the top b school MBA who got an emergency F1 visa, recruited on campus to become MD of JP Morgan Chase, that also operates in the IT sector with Sergey Brin. Did you not know that he wrote the reference letter for the Akosua somebody. I forgot to mention he also wrote the source codes for nairaland and has alternate accounts to like and support his comments. ![]() Time2win: |

Top Schools does magic if in the IVY.. We all know that. Like if you're a CEO, you did like to have a grad from Harvard in your firm right? But see the US is not like Nigeria where your effort is not commensurate to the rewards. If you're are very consistent in self development, you'll walk with your shoulders high on Wall Street regardless of the school you attended. In the US, your efforts is directly proportional to rewards. I.e. E = KR Where K is constant self development |

| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Brown2Green(m): 10:34am On May 08, 2019 |
toluene1234:Why would you take personal I20 after ticking Yes? You have to go with the I20 of all coming with you. If you can rectify it, kindly choose NO You have already indicated you have a family on your documents which will be used as your home tie. Then you can go with your personal I20. The details on the DS160 and I20 MUST match |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by LagosismyHome(f): 10:50am On May 08, 2019 |
toluene1234:There is no right or wrong answer ......... But when you dwell on something too much then it becomes a high Mountain . If its me they cannot travel without you so focus on getting yours first . The rest might follow seamlessly after. If you go with the I20 alone then if asked , be very upfront and say you would love your family to be together at some point but your i20 is for yours now. If you go with the other i20 then work with what you have and be ready to defend home ties Interview is so subjective that there is no right or wrong way. Any of them can work. It depends on the voices in the VO head at the time of interview.. Some people have all the home ties in this world and are still denied ... So just Prepare for questions and how to present yourself well and hope for the best |

Good day Everyone..i have been a silent follower for a week now..a lot to learn here...I want to start my Visa application. How do I go about it? I hear people talking abt DS160, scheduling appointment, sevis payment and so on. Which is first to do ? And also I need help on sevis payment . Do I have to fill these forms to know when they are available dates? I am hoping to have my interview in june |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by sharwama(f): 12:38pm On May 08, 2019 |
Congratulations on breaking your silence ![]() Have you received your I-20 from your school? If affirmative then you have the details you need to pay your SEVIS fee so you can go ahead. Next, you can begin your visa application ASAP. Open a DS -160 form online, note the code. Pay your visa application fee of Fifty nine thousand two hundred naira only at any GTB of your choice. Get the receipt, together with the code on your DS-160, you may proceed to schedule an appointment. This is when you can see available dates for June. You do not need to complete the form before booking your appointment. For SEVIS payment please search for Texrem or Walspring and send a message, they'd be glad to help you. Please let me know if you require additional information ![]() Ellakemzy: |

CptCharlesVane:So much hate in one post. SMH. How you guys manage to twist people's opinions because they differ from your reality amazes me. Are there facts in what he says? Most certainly. Has he said top schools are the 'only' way to succeed? Well, I am yet to read that. Saying top schools are not important is akin to saying getting good grades are not important - cos we all know "no be everybody wey go school go make am". I'd advise you all to be a little less touchy/offended about the "top school" matter and instead just pass your important message that it's not all about the school you attend (all without crucifying the man for stating obvious facts). Cheers! |

You're quoting the wrong person. This should be directed to whoever is talking about top schools and success. Think that discussion had passed. All I'm saying is it's a privilege to be here among legends, self-acclaimed and otherwise. Cheers to you too ![]() dabaniru: |

Visa Approved today at the Abuja Embassy. Here's an abridged version of my transcriot to K.I.S.S. VO: Hello Me: Oh Hi! VO: I can see you're going for your Doctorate in aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Me: Thats correct. VO: Are you married? Me: Nope, I am single. VO: Why the Univerisity of Cincinnati? Me: My choice of schools was based on the Carnegie Classification of Institutes of Higher Education in which UC falls under the Schools with Very High Research activity(R1). I had emailed many profs with similar research interests who work in schools within the R1 list and received interesting replys from the Profs at UC. Also, they have a really strong faculty. Particularly, the first man to land on the moon surface, Neil Armstrong, was a one-time member of the aerospace engineering faculty and helped develop it. The above helped to shape my decision. VO: **cute smile** Whats your research field about? Me: oh I am interested in the aerodynamics of airfoils as well as the development of miniaturized satellites--CubeSats in particular. VO: *smiles* and asks, whats your highest degree qualification? Me: I currently hold a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of xxxx where i finished with a first class. VO: hmm, i can see from your I-20 that you've been offered full scholarships. Me: That's Correct. VO: I will be approving your Visa. Please keep your I-20 very safe as you will be needing it at the POE. I am grateful to God for his grace. |
