Aside the fact that your concluding statement reeks of needless tribalism, you made great points. Your tenant belongs to the category of people who simply WON'T pay (not necessarily because they can't afford to).

Most tenants believe landlords have less needs and priorities, reason many of them won't pay. The fact that rent is due for payment is not enough reason for them to pay. They expect you to give them a "strong reason" e.g. you need money for an urgent surgery, and stuff like that.

The poor share this mentality also. When they borrow from the rich, they hardly want to pay back. The fact that they owe you money is not enough reason to pay.

Same ideology runs in the veins of those who blame church goers for giving offerings in church. Why should you give offering to a rich pastor, (when obviously he can afford to keep the church running from the money he pulls out from his buttocks on a daily basis)?" After all, the church was built from the money he stole from World bank.

Well, the ultimate lesson here is well noted.

Honestly, I like the passion with which you defend these pastors.

People like you would always exist in the world and you are the reason I'm now thinking about cashing out with this church thing... I need to own a church!

When you get to discover the number of pastors finding it difficult to eat 2 meals per day, you would rethink your decisions.

They will only tell you about Oyedepo and Adeboye, no one will tell there are over 1 million registered and over 2 million unregistered churches/centres in Nigeria. You think their founders don't like private jets too?

Quickly go and start oo, we will talk about your "business" in 5 years.

It's same with every business. That shouldn't deter a business minded person like me.

That's the spirit! cool

I have steady flow of cash from my businesses. I only knew about tbills just this year.

It's a matter of getting a "Pastor" with the right "Lamba" and tricks as I don't plan to be the pastor myself.

well the truth hurts. you as an ibo man know your people so well but will never say the truth .ibo lack morals and manner of approach.i have aboki as tenant and yoruba.all tenants owes rent and most overstay for months.the abokis which is even a businessman will approach me ahead when he will pay even the yoruba tenants.the ibo tenants are so arrogant lacks manner of approach and respect. i have three of them and only one hasnt given me much headache.

yiu are just being myopic and parochial. I have (or had) a yoruba co tenant. woman claims to be staying in London and visits Nigeria occassionally. just to even move her car so that someone can go about his business , that's a problem. She doesn't even pay her utility Bills. She owed the landlady 2 years rent and was forced to pack out. And you are here ranting about Igbo this and that because your lot refuse to travel. Oga , every tribe has good and bad. Move around. it would help u a lot.

Lol, pastors are cashing in big time than tbills investors.
Churches and schools is the highest paying investment in nigeria right now!

Just as you rightly condemned the poster you replied about the needless tribalism, your message should be condemned for needless religious dogmatism.

Sometimes, those tithe payers beg me money o.

My neighbor literally sleeps in RCCG. He defends tithe and offerings as if his life depends on it. As we talk now, he is still owing me money.

Even my mom, once they pay her, the next Sunday, she would go and give 10% to pastor and claim it is tithe. Then by second week of the next month, she will start complaining she does not have money to buy fuel.

You cannot control how others choose to spend their money.

Alibaba and AY should also donate to charities to help them or set up their own charities, which they will deduct from their taxes.
The norms of the society, expressed through tax laws among others, control how everyone spends money made from others in the society. It is the understanding of this fact, coupled with actions accordingly, that distinguishes Trump's white societies from black shittyhole nations.
