Has anyone successfully applied to a university without VPD. Just documents !

I applied to LMU, without Uniassist hence no VPD, just sent a transcript, answered some test questions and was asked to mail my documents to the school. The course is an international course (MSc geology), don't know for sure if it applies to all their courses but it's worth checking out. BEST OF LUCK

If you were not going to share a link or answer the question, then is it not easier for you not to reply to my comment? than to post something so unuseful

grin no vex o bros. But I think reading previous post will save you a lot.

Bro, I think his question is valid. Personally, I've gone through numerous pages of this thread and I have not really seen any answer address his question. Maybe because that wasn't the info I was interested in at that time or whatever....

So, please if you have the answer, kindly help us. Thanks

You can always swtich school bro. You can use school A admission letter to book for visa interview, and later switch to school B with more preference when you get to Germany and do the necessary paper work at school B state's Alien office. So straightforward.

Please how were you able to resolve this??

Turns out it was the application form, which I already sent them. They responded that I should send an email to the school directly. I did. The school responded with the self-same application form I already filled, signed, and sent with the other documents.

The question now is, if they confirmed they received my documents, how come they (Uni-Assist) missed the application form in the same envelope? They did the same thing with my application to PotsDam. I think they are getting sloppy.

To cut a long story short, I have filled, signed and resent the forms again, including a printout of the email from Dresden. I snapped them with my phone as evidence in case they wake up tomorrow and say I did not send. They have confirmed receipt (a second time) I am waiting for their response to the Dresden application itself (Potsdam own has been processed and forwarded)

No problem! just make sure it's not a requirement, if it is, you might have to get one through Uniassist. Nevertheless, there are options out there if you decide you don't want to go through Uniassist. That was my point. Hope you can work something out eventually smiley

Your VPD could have been sent to your mail and documents has also sent to the school you applied to for further process. Just been expecting final decision from the school, Uni-assist has done their part.

Thanks very much for your explanation.

No, it means it has been approved to be passed to the admission committee for checks.
Good news soon for you.

Bros no vex, an uncle in Germany later paid for me. School messaged me today that they have received my fee after I mailed them, So hopefully they must have sent my documents to the program coordinator for further assessments.

Here's what I think about the whole visa appointment kerfuffle. Anyone with an admission letter belongs to Category A. Because it involves fulfilling at least one of many criteria and one criterion is this:

Category B is just for hopeful candidates still waiting on admission and are, to the German consulate, not fully committed yet. That's why it's clearly stated that Category B will be given an appointment date 2 to 3 months before the date.

The only reason that the Category A currently seems to require a scholarship is probably because they are now only dealing with summer 2019 applicants who have scholarships and ignoring everyone else. In the old system, appointment requests by students with scholarships are usually honored even after visa appointments are no longer available.
Perhaps when the time is right (probably July, like someone was told by email recently, or earlier if they change their minds) then Category A will have options for everyone and u might probably need to show proofs of admission before being able to book though.

Anyway, this is just a conjecture. In the end until we get an unequivocal statement from a veritable authority, we can only continue to speculate.

What wil u say abt this my friend that has scholarship..but here is what he was told same tin with B people......guys pls B carefull ooooo....this people day find who them won give problem oo....may that not b our lot in Jesus name.Amen

Are we going with B or A now for appointment?

For many who already have admission letter without scholarship, whats the way forward?
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by atungudo: 9:02pm On May 08, 2019
I think for those without a scholarship or an Abuja residents address, there is no need to go near A. You'd be required to tick a box for either of these otherwise, the form won't be accepted for submission. So it's safer to just go with B.

They didn't ask for evidence of scholarship or Abuja residency. But note that your International Passport has an address on it. They will not admit you if that address doesn't show an Abuja address, neither will they let you in if you have no letter indicating a scholarship position on the day of your interview.

I think everyone that doesn't have a scholarship should just refrain from applying via category A, it is common knowledge that scholarship holders are given preference so I guess that category A was made for them. Also, if you read the page carefully they said if you are unsure you belong to category A then apply via category B. It's that simple honestly.
