Christycode:In my own opinion, I think the history of the account is as important as the balance in it. Someone with 10m balance without a good flow is likely to get a refusal letter based on insufficient funds. If your sponsor's soa indeed has a good history or if she can prove the source of the funds, then I think 5m should be okay. I may be wrong o Also, I think the fact that you were going for a prenursing was the reason for the purpose of visit thingy. So now that you are going for nursing, try to explain why you intend to study that abroad instead of staying back in Nigeria, and use your mom as a strong home tie. Explain that you have to come back home to take care of her since your dad is late; it's your obligation! (so sorry to hear about your dad). And erhmm maybe if she can gift you one of her lands and reserve it for your use at the completion of your program. P.S I'm no guru, just an opinion |

hey i think you misinterpreted my message. More schools (apart from the two you mentioned) are actually on their site. Timothyphillips: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Qudkom(m): 5:39pm On May 14, 2019 |
Christycode:Oh sorry thought you meant prenursing. But either ways I think the soa is still a little low. Considering there is still 10kcad living expenses to account for. I hope you can amend that and don't forget the loe I mentioned. |

Christycode:You mentioned someone applied with 4M and got visa for same program but please know that circumstances differ and flow of cash in SOA might influence VO's decisions. Please note, GCMS not is very important but If you are pressed for time and cannot wait for GCMS note, this is what I will do. You are on track and your documents are good but please do the following; (1) What does your mum do? Attach proof (2) 5M is not enough - 12,000CAD + 10,000 is much more than 5M. I will get a second sponsor OR show that my mum has other sources of income and I will attach proof (does she have tenants?). Cash flow is important as well. I think I read it somewhere on this thread you have siblings... (3) I will suggest you pay your fees but please check your school return policy before making payment. (4) I will let my mother write a very good sponsorship letter and you proof read for errors (get someone to proof read for you). I personally suggest 500 words (1 page). (5) I will write LOE detailing WHY I chose nursing. Please don't just write I have a passion for nursing but explain WHY you chose the course (Don't just say because you want to save lives, give an example or a short story), the benefits of this course to your short and long term goals and gaps this course can fill in Nigeria. Please get someone to proof read for errors when you are done. P.S your dad is late, so sorry about that. Did he die in a hospital ? That could be your story on why you decided to study Nursing. You can do all of the above, submit by end of this month and hopefully get your visa before fall. Please if you cannot do all of the above before the end of this month, I suggest you defer till January and apply for your GCMS note so you can take your time to address all concerns. |

The United States of America, just banned the use of drop box for visa renewal. Now you have to apply and wait. I just keep shaking my head to how far we've fallen. Every single year it gets harder and the requirements gets tougher. Nigeria is part of the top 10 countries that overstay their visa's in Usa/Canada. To think there will be a general election in Canada this year gets me worried. I mean what if the immigration rules change! |

So I did my medicals yesterday and all of a sudden my bp went up to 150/100. I guess it was due to stress added with that of traveling down to Lagos. I wasn’t ask to perform ECG test. Is this normal? Can I call to ask for test result? |

Naijaforeigner:Thanks a lot for this. How about having a ball of N5M after paying the fees? Is it cool? My mum has tenants and houses but how do I prove this to them. Exactly,he died in a hospital!! You just gave me an inspiration |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Stonecoldsteve: 7:22pm On May 14, 2019 |
I did mine at IOM Abuja and they sent me a message saying that they had forwarded my test results to the Canadian embassy and that nothing was found wrong with me. I got the message the next day after my medicals. If you did yours at IOM, you should get a message. Tlontin: |

No matter how bad the conservatives feel about immigration, I don't think they will be in a hurry to change the immigration rules as it will do them more harm than good. With a land mass the size of America and a population of 35 million (compared to 350 million in America), they've got socioeconomic challenges that immigration can help them solve. Maybe five years from now they might consider an immigration policy review. chibertha: |

abusmanlouis:So sorry about your friends Study Permit denial. Please tell him/her to stay strong and that it’s not a denial until he or she quits. Also tell him/her to apply for GCMS note immediately to know the exact reason/s for the denial. The gurus in the house will sure help. Please did he/she apply from Nigeria? Kindly share the applications time line. It can only get better.... |

You can also check out MPower finance, they also offer Student loans quote author=Timothyphillips post=78373085] Hello @sillysassysally, I checked through the ProdigyFinance website you talked about and noticed they are more into schools in the US and was able to only find University of British Columbia and University of Toronto (the only two Canadian Universities) on the site. Can you please give a roadmap on securing the Loan. Thanks and nice profile[/quote] |
