shadeyinka:Hmmm, You see Christians preaching everytime! (1) Is it compulsory to preach and teach God's word? Well Jesus was a Carpenter and his foster father was also a Carpenter, he learnt carpentry as a young man and that was life as a NORMAL human. When he saw John baptising people for the repentance towards God's covenant, Jesus went directly to John for baptism but something happened! John was baptising sinners who felt they needed to repent due to the way they abandoned God's covenant, He told Jesus 'No this is not for you' but Jesus said 'let's do it as it should be' John could feel the power in the presence of Jesus even before baptising him, after Jesus' baptism he went straight ahead for how to go about his ministry! God's holy spirit direct Jesus to quiet place where God gave him every information on how to go about his assignment, he later started calling others to join him in his PREACHING and TEACHING work, he taught them how to PREACH[make effective presentations of the good news of God's kingdom] and how to TEACH[efficient in inculcating the principles of the kingdom in the minds of whoever finds their presentation appealing] Lastly he commanded that they should go and meet people of ALL nations, and turn them to Christians [effective preachers and teachers] as well. So i believe i can't truthfully claim to be a Christian[Christlike] if i don't know how to preach and teach God's word with efficacy! 2Timothy 3:17 Moreover according to the Bible book of Revelation 22:17 'the spirit, the bride and ANYONE hearing must say COME!' meaning if i accepted Christianity then it's my duty to invite others so i must LEARN how to PREACH and TEACH! Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 10:1-2 1 Like |

Maximus69: Ok! One cannot truthfully say he is Christian if he doesn't preach and teach the word of God. Ok! Second Question! |

(2) What if my calling is not teaching? Well that is factual in the sense that most people aren't good in making presentations and inculcating ideas in the minds of others but that is not a problem amongst true Christians who are ever humble to learn what they don't know! Act 18:24-26 |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 1:09pm On May 16, 2019 |
(3)Do you preach and teach because it is one of the sign a believer in Christ should have? NO! It is LOVE that moves me to exact myself vigorously and pay rapt attention to learn the preaching and teaching work. 1Corinthians 13:13 I believe Jehovah had played his own role by sending his only begotten son to die for our sins, Jesus had played his role by given his perfect life as a ransom for honesthearted people to gain everlasting life, so i need to play my own part by learning how to present the good news and inculcate it's principles in the minds of those who listens to me! 1Timothy 4:16 |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 1:12pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:You mean True Christians don't hide under the guise of "not my calling". They will learn to preach and teach as required. Is this a true reflection of your submission? |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 1:19pm On May 16, 2019 |
(4) If a person doesn't preach regularly, could it be said that he doesn't have the sign of a believer? YES! Because there is nothing like a believer without WORKS to show for his faith[what he claims to believe] we hear,we accepted, we learn, we give what we have as wisdom all freely courtesy Jesus of Nazareth! Romans 10:13-15 Before Christianity God only send prophets alone to pass information[Hebrew 1:1] but after the establishment of Christianity all adherents must act in line with the order from our Master, Lord and King who said 'all authority has been given me......Go and make them my disciples' Matthew 28:18-20 That command is for all those claiming believers! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 1:21pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:I look at it from the scripture: Mar 16:15-16: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Luk 9:2: "And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick." Luk 9:6: "And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere." Is it not more of a command, hence a duty to be done in love? Hence if it is a command and you see a Christian not doing it, wouldn't it show that he may not be a real Christian? |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 1:26pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:I'm not saying it is a must for all people, but whoever claims to BELIEVE in Jesus must pick up that responsibility to PREACH and TEACH. Matthew 16:24 Though TRUE faith is not that easy[2Thessalonians 3:2] so Satan has find excuses for many claiming Christians to stylishly DISOBEY Christ! 2Corinthians 4:4 |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 1:38pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:The title LORD means OWNER! So if i revere Jesus as 'Lord' i can't truthfully say that from the bottom of my heart when he gives any order and i say 'that order is not for me' There is a motive behind the order and that must be met, Jesus sent his followers to go and make people subjected to his laid down principles. That is why Paul helped the Christians in Corinth who taught they can't be true Christians if they don't perform signs, that all those signs are just to show that a new baby has been born but when the baby grows into an adult those childlike SIGNS will no more be evident! 1Corinthians 13 So it is the LOVE Christians have for their neighbours that will keep motivating them to continue making disciples for their Master, Lord and King NOT those signs! 1Corinthians 13:13 |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 1:55pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:I agree with you. You can only demonstrate faith to God by works of Righteousness done in Love. Modified Maximus69: Can you show me where Paul taught that those signs will not be evident again? 1 Cor 13: is showing the supremacy of LOVE over miraclulous abilities. In other words if I have every Spiritual gift and I don't have LOVE, the spiritual gifts are meaningless! The TEXT is quoted here:
MY NEXT QUESTION Has Jesus ever used you to heal the sick before? I am not asking if you have the gift of healing! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 2:18pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:There is just one calling and that is Jesus of Nazareth! Before Christianity, God used prophets to pass infos in different ways! Hebrew 1:1 But when Jesus started his own calling, it is from mouth ro mouth. Christians preach and teach to make more Christians, it is from one person to another NOT that Jesus will call me from the sky out of all other people because i'm special! Humility is what i needed for Jesus to make use of me. He is only interested in humble hearts! Luke 14:7-11 So when TRUE Christians first knocked on my door, i felt they've come again to disturb me after coming back from my church[former place of worship]. But after hearing their presentation, i felt something unique in what i heard so i gave them another appointment, i started asking countless questions based on what my former religion teaches and finally hear i am also going to preach and teach others. If someone says i Maximus can TEACH i'll just laugh it off because i'm not that calm. I believe Jesus is using me now that is why i am able to do what i'm doing now! When Jesus was tell his disciples what they must do and how to do it, they felt it is impossible because rich and well known ruler like Nicodemus kept hiding as a disciple of Jesus, so those average men felt the task ahead is just too big for them, then Jesus told them to pray for God's holy spirit to help them do his will[ Luke 11:9-13] adding 'with God all things are possible' Matthew 19:25-26 So hear i am today Maximus a former military intelligence officer trained to kill people in mass at war as a profession but now pleading with those bloody civilians to reason along with Jesus' principles. Surely with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 2:39pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:Since you say Jesus is using you, is it to say it's through the power of the Holy Spirit? |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 2:43pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:Hmmm, i'm not saying 'this is what you must agree to' So if you find my presentation untrue it is normal, you're a believer and i am a believer therefore my presentation shouldn't be of anything strange to you after all it's just my PERSONAL understanding of the scriptures, and you too have your own. Next question! NO! Literally speaking but YES! Spiritually speaking! I believe in God's Kingdom, that is when there will be permanent cure to all kinds of sickness. When Jesus walked the earth, there were many places he never got to for healing. He only did all that to impress in the minds of his listeners that all the promises of God about the Kingdom will CERTAINLY be fulfilled. I don't believe Christians must continue performing signs to tell people that Jesus is the Messiah, he has come and returned to his place[in heaven] My own duty is to help honesthearted individuals see reasons why they must live the rest of their life as a Christian! I have preached and taught so many people in the last few months, and many of them do exclaim 'thank you, you're an eye opener!' For instance after asking one woman of about 50 years ~'where are the magicians we usually watch on TV in those days?' She said~ 'that's strange Sir, i too don't know where they've all gone to. Are people no more interested in magic? Or Are the spirits supporting them gone?' Then i said~'No they're still very much around, they've transformed into Pastors today, performing their acts to make huge amount of money with ease' She demanded a scriptural quotation to support what i just said and i gave her 2Corinthians 11:14 She immediately knelt down and started begging me to pray for her! I instantly told her 'i'm just a Christian, you too can learn how to open the eyes of those who are SPIRITUALLY blind' |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 2:52pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:That is the question WE'RE NOT PERMITTED TO ANSWER! Whether we're operating for God or not it is the observers that will make their own PERSONAL conclusion on that, NOT for us to tell! Luke 9:20-21 A Christian is Christlike so we don't tell people our status in God's arrangement, we only do our works and allow each person draw a personal conclusion in their heart on who or what we stand for! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 2:53pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:I have highlighted a few places where I had issues especially your comment here He only did all that to impress in the minds of his listeners that all the promises of God about the Kingdom will CERTAINLY be fulfilled. But there is a question buried in my post that is unanswered yet. MY NEXT QUESTION Has Jesus ever used you to heal the sick before? I am not asking if you have the gift of healing! Like you preach through the power of the Holy Spirit but has God ever used you to heal before using the same power of the Holy Spirit? |

shadeyinka:I have answered this one but there is no problem i'll do it again and this time simple! NO! If you're talking about spectacular display. YES! If you're talking about the spiritual lasting benefit. |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 3:25pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:I don't understand your response. I am speaking about healing of physical sickness/illness not Spiritual sickness. So, the Question again: MY QUESTION Has Jesus ever used you to heal the sick before? I am not asking if you have the gift of healing! Like you preach through the power of the Holy Spirit but has God ever used you to heal before using the same power of the Holy Spirit? |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 3:28pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:There shouldn't be any serious issue since you believe that there are blind guides today and i too believe the same. Your PERSONAL conclusion will determine who are those blind leaders, and since we have different mindsets our conclusion on that can't be the same. So you too are free to present your PERSONAL conclusion on the issue WITHOUT MENTIONING THE NAME OF ANY ORGANIZATION! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 3:30pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:My response is as simple as ABC! If you're talking about the PHYSICAL, NO! |

Maximus69:Please check my post (your reference) again: I didn't mention directly or indirectly any organisation. Anyways, there is a post before this that needs a response! Modified! I can see your answer above My next question below |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 3:35pm On May 16, 2019 |
Do you know any contemporary Christian that God has used in healing anyone before? |

shadeyinka:NO! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 3:58pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:OK! How about this: Two questions in one! 1. Have you ever been used by God to cast out a demon? 2. Do you know any contemporary believer who has been used of God to cast out demons? |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by alBHAGDADI: 4:00pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69: Have you JW obeyed this order of Jesus ? Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” No you don't because you don't believe in the Trinity. Instead of baptizing in the names mentioned above, you just baptize in Jehovah's name. Yet you claim to obey Jesus order. Keep ignoring me. I'm not posting g because if you but fir sincere people viewing this thread to see your hypocrisy. |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by alBHAGDADI: 4:03pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69: Jehovah's witnesses don't give a damn about the Holy Spirit. That's why they will never acknowledge him in anything. They can't even say he does the tiniest of duty in their ministry. This is the spirit against God. Never acknowledging the Holy Spirit is tantamount to hating God. |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 4:06pm On May 16, 2019 |
alBHAGDADI:Please not yet Sir! Have a little restrain! |
Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by Nobody: 4:06pm On May 16, 2019 |
shadeyinka:To the two questions the answers are same! If you're speaking about the SPRITUAL, YES! But if you're speakinig about the PHYSICAL, NO! |

Re: Discussion on Doctrine between a Christian and a Jehovah's Witness by shadeyinka(m): 4:10pm On May 16, 2019 |
Maximus69:I don't understand your distinction between "Physical Demons" and "Spiritual Demons". I am speaking of the kind of casting out of demons that Jesus or the Apostles did in the scriptures! So the question again: 1. Have you ever been used by God to cast out a demon? 2. Do you know any contemporary believer who has been used of God to cast out demons? error noted: modified |
