These MTN bidders are falling my hand ooooooooooooooo

i beg first thing tomorrow they shld up the bid to about 500m units ooooooo and back it up with cash

so that NSE can be very cash starved in other to facilitate the prices qouted above

Again im begging them in the name of all things they hold dear

because unlike them im OK with a div yield of 20% (im not really a greedy person) for the near future and those prices wld surely do it for me

It usually continues like this through out summer and the rush comes in October.

Let's see if the trend will change during summer

Market will be "sheep come and chop"(in ibo). grin

Lots of people are waiting with grinding stone and cutlasses.

I got a very sketchy info on them.

Site has been only 173 days old online and
due to expires on 2019-11-24.

No info on physical address or contact info.

Only two images on fb page without any friends.

I seriously doubt if they're really serious.

Better still there are countless big brokers in US or Europe that has platform for
global stocks, foreign and crypto currencies e.g Tradeview, Etoro etc. just google it.

Finally, run away from any brokerage firm without any good review from recognized forum online.

my 2 cent though.

WHT ~ Withholding Tax

You can use lots of method to get the price you pay for your stock. However, the taste of the pudding is in the eating. You have to buy at or below the instrinsic value. This gives you a better margin of safety.

Now this is where your mind starts to play games on you. When you buy and prices starts to fall, you start to ask yourself if the price you bought was the right price. Aside all these theoretical computations, that is why you need to place your satisfaction on something that you derive value from. And that to me is dividends especially during a downtrend.

So this means that after getting your price to buy, you go further to ask: Presuming they pay the last dividend again, what Dividend Yield (after WHT) will be ok for me? 8%, 10%, 15% etc.

If it is >10%, I will advise you take up the stocks even as price falls. Because falling price will give you improved DY compared to the price you bought earlier. This is like dual buffer. Buying at or below intrinsic price and still waiting for dividends.

So long as price remains low, you could be adding units quietly for that good stock. You can buy large volume at a cheaper price in a downtrend and not an uptrend. So the bear is the period of planting. As in plant coke bottle during bear!! grin

Well understood sir. Thank you.

Lol! What did you expect?

Brokers got for themselves, family, friends and rich people they will continue to do business with, hoping others will buy it at a higher price. They have been heaping praises upon praises on MTN, I find that odd. Lol! It means only one thing... direct monkey hunting.

The shares sold yesterday was done through cross deals and many more are likely to follow suit...unless MTN decides to offload some units which I doubt. If you offloaded your stock to buy MTN I hope you see it to buy, otherwise...

https://businessday.ng/lead-story/article/update1-buyers-outweigh-sellers-on-mtn-nigerias-first-trading-day/

"MTN Nigeria, which did a listing by introduction today (Thursday) attracted a bid of 165 million units on the first trading day, which works out to N14.8bn at a N90 share price, but there wasn’t a single unit on offer. At least not publicly.

That’s because there was one private transaction which was a cross deal of 5.3 million units sold at N99 per share. That means MTN gained 10 percent on its first trade, effectively valuing the cross deal at N524 million."

I don't know anything about this MTN but the fact that they pay out 80% of their PAT as dividend, the NSE I know will price it very high o

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/05/16/africa/mtn-nigerian-stock-exchange-listing-intl/index.html

"The only way new investors can get shares is if one of the existing investors decides to sell," Fawehinmi told CNN.
"But given the kind of dividend payouts MTN has been doing lately, it is hard if not impossible to see why any shareholder will sell," he added.

No need to queue up for this mtn. At a certain price, it would become available. I doubt if any one here would get it below 150.
Just my thoughts.

If you see at N150 that is good, they cannot get it below N180-N200...even brokers want to buy and they cannot get it, at the end brokers will sell it to their clients at above N200

But at 200, what is the point. They pay 80% of eps as dividend, good. But how much does that translate to - less than 10naira. Zenith will give a higher dividend return than that.

MTN, if una no go sell to me at 80naira, make una carry go.
