Mizwisdom: Trump indeed is racist, but this has nothing to do with the decision to suspend the interview waiver program in Nigeria. That is down to the high visa overstay rate for Nigerians. |

Re: United States Embassy Suspends Interview Waiver "Drop Box" For Nigerians by TWoods(m): 3:59pm On May 15, 2019 |
Mizwisdom: Again it’s not about trump. Overstaying a visa is an abuse of a visa. It is the duty of the state department to combat this through any means possible... that includes suspending the interview waiver program. There is no evidence that this has been suspended in all other African countries. Most predominantly white countries do not require visas to visit the United States hence your example doesn’t apply... their citizens also do not routinely lie at ports of entries or overstay their permitted entry periods. We are incapable of running decent countries even we can live in. Yet we feel entitled to go force ourselves on others. If you’re that upset about trump’s racism then why is the United States embassy always so full of Nigerians seeking exit visas? 2 Likes |
Re: United States Embassy Suspends Interview Waiver "Drop Box" For Nigerians by Mizwisdom(f): 4:06pm On May 15, 2019 |
TWoods: You're not being sincere to yourself. You shouldn't say most white predominant countries will not abuse visas. People from Romania, Poland, Argentina, even more prosperous Europeans have overstayed visas in America without returning to their homeland. Even Trump's wife is guilty, but no one cares because they're WHITE. It's time we tell ourselves the truth. |
Re: United States Embassy Suspends Interview Waiver "Drop Box" For Nigerians by TWoods(m): 4:15pm On May 15, 2019 |
Mizwisdom: You’re being dishonest. The issue isn’t whether not one single person overstays their visa from predominantly white countries, it’s that Nigerians are serial visa overstayers, far and above citizens of Poland for example. There is no evidence that the interview waiver program has been suspended for Kenyans or South Africans for example... last I checked, they are not white. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mizwisdom: Again you’re being dishonest. Here is the full report straight from the USCIS. Start from page 15. Black African nations are the worst violators. As that news report mentions, Canada is not a VWP country. Canadians do not require anything to come to the US and the same for Americans crossing over to Canada. Infact, I only require a drivers license at the Canadian border. You should pick a better example. |

Re: United States Embassy Suspends Interview Waiver "Drop Box" For Nigerians by TWoods(m): 10:49pm On May 15, 2019 |
Mizwisdom: I sent you the report already. America does treat Canadians differently. As does Canada. Unlike other nations, America shares huge border swathes with Canada so you’re comparing apples to oranges. They don’t need visas or a VWP. They can simply walk across the street. If Nigeria shared a border with the US, there would be nobody left in Nigeria today. If you weren’t as concerned with the US, why are you here? The very people who complain about racist America would be the first to fast and pray for a US visa. America treats other white nations differently... their citizens are far less likely to break the law and they are of strategic importance in terms of the economy and defense. What is Nigeria’s value to the US, other than swarming their embassies like desperate refugees? |

NoonMasamune: You will understand my message better when you’re faced with the reality of life, especially in a sick country like Nigeria and for the records do not remix my message. Do you know that Nigerians really love their country? There are many people based abroad living good but still invest and make it a must to visit this messed up country every month/year but we still get burnt at the end due to government policies made for elites but not for the masses. People now work or do anything just for money not passion all because jobs are not available, it’s abnormal and insane for the people in Nigeria to live below 1 dollar a day when there is crude oil, massive man power and enormous wealth in Nigeria. Now you chose to blame individuals who have been so frustrated with Nigeria they would rather stay put in America than go back to a messed up country like Nigeria. |

Mizwisdom: Thank you for this piece. Mexicans also share a bother with America but they are treated different from Canadians. I guess it’s the Same reason Nigerias all around the world are being treated like shit, we got very poor reputation globally all thanks to our terrible past and present leaders. The cup of the suffering masses almost full and when it’s full the rich leaders and family will drink from it. The North is now a reflection of a failed region despite producing leaders running the affairs of Nigeria. More wisdom to you Miz. 1 Like 1 Share |

I stand to be corrected, those Nigerians that uses Dropbox for renewal, are not the ones that will overstay. Overstaying your visa already jeopardise your chance of getting it renewed. But I rather think it is mainly those that 'hustle' to get visa after many attempt, that will stay put on getting one. My opinion anyway. 1 Like |

Re: United States Embassy Suspends Interview Waiver "Drop Box" For Nigerians by ttmacoy: 2:35pm On May 20, 2019 |
Firstly how many Americans are applying for Nigerian visa? Secondly how many Americans are using Nigerian visas to cross over into Ghana illegally? If you recall Canada specifically asked the US to limit visas to Nigerians because of the number of Nigerians who will get US visa which is relatively easier than Canadian visa and then cross the border and claim asylum. The majority of American visitors to Nigeria excluding those of Nigerian descent are on business visas and if you target business visas it will impact the Nigeria economy via foreign direct investment. Restrictions on Nigerian visit visas will mostly affect US passport holders of Nigerian descent. Besides a Nigerian visa is not easy to get and this is in part due to the inefficient processes and staff at the embassies. Heck even me a Nigerian trying to get my Nigerian passport renewed at an embassy abroad is so annoying and can be difficult. In short the solution is to fix our country so people are not so desperate to run to other countries illegally. That way we also gain respect and prestige on the global stage. At the moment we are funding universities in Canada UK US etc while our universities continue to wallow in under investment and with very poor conditions. We continue to invest in the medical sector in these countries while our medical sector is so bad even our president has to travel to the UK for treatment. All this with the limited foreign exchange we earn as a country. dheaven: 2 Likes |
