Boss...worst things are happening in other countries and the citizens of those countries doesn't speak ill of their country. Please Sir, let's mind our discussion here because the VOs are reading this thread and we might be sending a wrong signal to them.

Perhaps that is why things never change for us? Because too many of us are ok with the end justifying the means... we are ok with fraud as long as it benefits us. Yet we complain that we are treated with suspicion at embassies around the world.

The US education is not designed for the rich, it is designed for Americans. Nigerians should design an education system that is affordable to its citizens. Oh wait, we can't! We've dishonestly stolen the money... all in the name of gawd of course. If there is one thing i am genuinely thankful to God for, it is not having to raise my children in a zoo where it is ok to lie with impunity.

But we forget that the simple things of life; love, laughter, pain, joy, happiness, agony, sorrow all defy empiricism. You cannot synthesize laughter in a lab nor happiness in a petri dish. You cannot bottle joy for sale nor peace as tablets. There's no agar to culture a smile and brew pain. No matter our gains in science, death defies pathology and psychiatry cannot reach the bottom of the human mind.

Should we continue to accept that all we see is all there is? Should we elevate science to that podium above all else because it peeps into the galaxies and tells us of the birth of stars and black holes? Why were the stars born?

If science on its match to unravel the mysteries of existence taught the discerning mind anything, it is ad TS Elliot puts it, that realization that "all our knowledge leads us closer to our ignorance," for the more we know, the more we know we do not know.
Those with true knowledge will develop a sense of awe and bow (even while still searching!); the man with half-knowledge will mount the chariot of banal hubris and go gallop to town spewing inanities at faiths and those who bow.

Had a deficit of 51k after 30% tuition waiver and it was still approved. So.. It’s not just fully funded people that are getting approved.

1. When you choose to make contributions, please learn to apply more empathy. Most of the time, your comments, advise, suggestions reeks of prejudice and preformed opinions. You assume all Nigerians are crooks. No, we aren’t. It might disgust you to live with the fact that you were originally a citizen of this great country.
2. When people get their visas and they claim it was God who gave them. I think it’ll be best you stay out of it. When you claim Americans or Germans or Chinese or Irish people don’t pray to be issued a visa you need to understand that they pray about other things. We don’t all have to have the same prayer requests do we? If they pray for good health and I pray for a successful visa outcome does it really matter? Live and let live.
3. Third, I discovered that Johnolukay raised a very important fact and you need to check it.Your ‘tone’. Honestly, watch it bro. There’s life beyond Nairaland Visa Thread that people constantly have been dealing with. Getting a visa isn’t a do or die affair. You lack an understanding of how communication works, you clearly do not understand emotional intelligence. You are notorious and acclaimed as someone who passes good information in a harsh way. I think you hate that you come from this country so much. To those applauding you for always coming out harsh, we should try to see beyond intent and suggest that he delivers more compassionately. I have been a memeber of this thread for more than 8 years now, good people have come, left a lasting mark, imparted lives without having to be rude or harsh. You have a point though about him already having an MBA and thus going for a masters degree will raise eyebrows, however there have been instances where persons with a prior masters degree still go for another masters degree, and are granted visa. (well each applicant's status and existing conditions varies).

Neither you or your wife will be unable to work... so how do you intend to care for an entire family and maintain your status on $30,000 for a year or more?

Yours is a confused mishmash of a desperate economic migrant masquerading as a student. Profiles like yours make it harder for genuine students. As at April 19, you were still actively processing a Canadian student visa - obviously you were denied. As at May 16, you were planning to apply for a US visa alone, within the span of 3 days, you are now planning to file with your wife and kids. How is this proper planning?

To be frank, you will be denied a visa whether you go alone or not.

1. You already have an MBA, how do you justify paying thousands of dollars to earn a masters degree again?
2. You were denied a US visit visa in 2018 and a Canadian student visa in 2019... your profile is that of a non-student seeking to use the F1 route to migrate to the US.
3. You compound that by showing up at the embassy with your whole family - no ties to your home country.
4. You have no funds to maintain a decent lifestyle in the US.

2. Did I say I do not have answers to questions on DS160? I only needed better clarifications on what best to do, given the form has option for one person/sponsor. Again what is wong in seeking help from the group?

3. With regards to the bolded, what gave you the idea I do not have such information? It was clearly stated in my post that i have picked one of the on campus housing units, but I really do not intend to stay on campus cos it is way more expensive than off campus housing, And if you are familiar with US leasing pattern, you will know that you cannot get an apartment outside of US easily. (But it is obvious you do not know).
Go back and read the post I made... and see if I asked for any address... see? Jumping to conclusions may cost you in future cos you obviously were reading to reply and throw slurs as against reading to assist in any manner. ROTFL

At this point, you should have liaised with your school to determine where you will reside during your time there. Typically, US programs help out international students by sending them information on available student housing, costs and other living expenses to give you an idea of how much money you will need in total. Why are you asking the forum to provide an address for you?

Your brother and your family friend's money is not available to you. You are only using their proof of funds to lie your way into obtaining a visa.

I have seen @Lagosismyhome and some other people pay for people’s standardized test. There are people on this thread who have offered their space as temporary shelter at home and abroad to nairalanders from this thread as a form of onboarding service lol for free. Being a compassionate person is really great.

When the embassy asks for a SOA, they are not saying show us all the money that everyone you know has, they are asking specifically for money set aside for the purpose for which you seek a visa. We all know... yet we continue to lie and cover for the outright dishonesty of our fellow Nigerians. All i see are people excusing fraud... while claiming "god", "grace" and other pseudo-religious psychobabble. I have yet to find anyone, other than a Nigerian, praying for a visa to anywhere. Little wonder we can't even be offered the dignity of the drop-box application anymore. Shame.

US institutions are typically very thorough. When they send you and admission letter, it comes with detailed information to assist the international student seamlessly adapt to life in the US. That includes information on available housing, estimates of living expenses - some even go the extra mile to provide you maps and useful information on the town you will be residing. If at this point you have not used that information to have a rough idea where you will be staying before applying for a DS160, i am obliged to conclude that indeed you are lazy and unserious.

I really admire your matured responses. Its a known fact on here that twoods can be annoying more often than not in his delivery of messages but that doesnt mean his points are invalid or give anyone the right to call people azzlickaz. We all have different perspectives and we should learn to filter the information we think is useful to us from the 'cockiness' of people like twoods' responses.

When i just stumbled on this thread, I had an altercation with this same twoods when he tried telling me something reasonable in his usual 'nwaamaikpe' attitude and i didnt find it funny but i eventually found myself doing exactly what he was trying to tell me to do which was reading the thread from the first page and that helped tremendously in securing my visa.

So for that person talking about azzlicking, yes sure like brown2green just said, its better to be that and get enlightened.

Concerning the bolded, you are right, but we also have some that actually have the financial means and do not plan to hustle when they get there other than work the regular 20 hours a week, to have a US work experience. Some others really want to further their education with a good educational system and plan to come back cos the have jobs waiting for them.

Some want to leave and get a better life, blame it on the country and not on the individuals seeking better life. Some just want to use their uncles Statement, obtain visa and hustle over there to pay the tuition fees. I know someone who transferred to a community college and have been hustling and paying his fees. Everyone wants a better life, you too are grateful that your children will not face what is obtainable in this zoo, same as what others want. You can advice people but please change the tone of your message.

Yes you have a point about how Nigerians are treated at international airports across the world, well this is due to the perception we have given the world about us. Does that then mean everyone is dishonest? or that persons who are wanting to leave the country all do so with dishonest means?

I agree we have dishonest persons among us, I agree people have varied intentions of leaving Nigeria. But I do not agree with you just blatantly using insulting words on people because you are pissed at how bad the situation is.

Yes, a society does not exist in a vacuum, and people are the mirror of the society hence the Nigerian situation today, cos we let corruption slide so bad it is woven into the fabric of the society. But to the bolded, not everyone in the country is riding on the backs of others to attain a better life. There are still persons who are morally honest, who stand by integrity and who strive to do what is right no matter the consequences.
