Nigeria was Pis-ma Piss poor tonight. They spoilt my mood this night.

It was torture sitting down and hoping for a miracle while the coach added more torture by subbing out his best players.

How terrible can anyone's night's be? angry

Bleep!. Where do I even start?. To think I paid money to sit down and get emotionally tortured for ninety minutes. Now my mood is completely ruined for the night.

I paid to get tortured!.

I had decided not to watch any of their matches and I am happy I stuck by my decisions.

It was the coach's fault. 100% his fault.

He was given free will to choose his players. Wasn't he?

The GRA GRA players he picked delivered poorly as expected. He choose the players and tactics. So, it is his fault

Woe betide anyone who places his trust in this team. THERE IS NO HOPE FOR THIS TEAM.

No game plan, no individual skills or abilities, no tactics, no team cohesion or understanding, NOTHING!.

It looks like the coach just randomly picked a bunch of 28 year old men off the streets, dressed them in jerseys, and sent them onto the pitch.

Shame unto the nepotistic kleptomaniacs in the NFF that appointed this clueless bribe taking buffoon of a coach.

Even if we had 50 minutes added time for this match, those old goats parading as 20 year olds would still have been unable to do anything.

The gulf in class between them and the American kids was as wide as the distance between heaven and earth.

I have never been a fan of Aigbodun but I will always be opposed to baseless accusations and that was why I was forced to defend the coach.

It was politics that got Aigbogun the job.

Pinnick former Warri Wolves chairman
Aigbogun former Warri Wolves coach.

Even with all the money Delta state government pumped into the club Aigbogun was still useless

It was not that political. Aigbodun has a UEFA badge and the NFF wanted part time coaches from the NPFL at the time. The guy is just not good but he was qualified for the job.

I consider his quality by bein able to ID good legs for a good outing. That wasn't the case however. Although, im sure if he had his way, half of the guys wont make the team.

Poor outing from the boys. But I must also give kudos to the highly talented US team.

Aigbogun failed with his tactics, played as though he never prepared for the game. From what I saw from the US team against Ukraine, they are a high ball possessing side. Aigbogun needed to set up his team to play with great pace and counter attacking football.

The boys were too heavy and clueless in the final 3rd only resorting to long shots.

We can only hope they can put their acts together and get a needed result against Ukraine.

FG Fulfils Pledge Of House To Westerhorf After 25 Years

The Federal Government yesterday fulfilled a 25 –year pledge to former Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Clemens Westerhof.

At an impressive ceremony inside the conference room of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Abuja, the Minister, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) said the occasion was a further proof that the Buhari administration was “committed to putting right the wrongs of yesterday and redressing all forms of yesterday’s injustice”.

Westerhof, a Dutchman, was head coach of the Super Eagles’ Class of 1994 – appropriately –styled Golden Generation – that won Nigeria’s first –ever FIFA World Cup ticket, won Nigeria’s first Africa Cup of Nations title on away ground and reached the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in USA.
“Mr. Westerhof ended our long –time search for a FIFA World Cup ticket, and afterwards went on to lead the team to Africa Cup of Nations glory. As a nation, we made promises, but there was no follow-up.

“I want the NFF to document those members of the squad that have not received their houses in the FCT as promised, and as soon as we receive this, we will respond positively. I was made aware that the promises had not been fulfilled through a letter by the assistant coach, Mr. Johannes Bonfrere, and we arranged for him to get his own in December 2017. Six months later, at the FIFA World Cup in Russia, a prominent journalist, Mr. Onochie Anibeze, brought it to my notice that the head coach, Mr. Westerhof was yet to receive his own house. We immediately initiated the process which has culminated in today’s event.

The 2nd Vice President of NFF, Mallam Shehu Dikko, who represented NFF President Amaju Pinnick at the occasion, praised the initiative of Mr. Fashola and his ministry, saying the redemption of the pledge was a positive sign to footballers and other sportsmen and women that promises would always be fulfilled, no matter how long it took. “We wll compile a list of those who have not received their houses and revert back to the Ministry”, Dikko said. An elated Westerhof, who flew into Nigeria from The Netherlands on Sunday night, said: “I am overjoyed. I want to thank the Nigerian government for this, and I want to assure you that you will now see more of me in Nigeria. “Nigeria is my second fatherland, and I am proud of what we were able to achieve with the players in those years. They were disciplined, dedicated and determined to lift Nigeria high, and we took Nigeria from 79th position to 5th in the world. I am thankful. However, I feel sad that some of my players have left us. May their souls rest in peace.” Minister Fashola afterwards presented the letter of allocation of the house to Westerhof.

Can’t you see their leg works, positioning, and tactical discipline? Those guys were astonishing for the whole 90mins.

no hope oga icon...no hope...
this team is not going anywhere....

qualifying among the 4th best losers...is even more scaring. ..because we will end up being paired with likely one of the strongest teams....and you think that will be a good ride for this heavy oldies..

when we advocated here that Nigeria best under 20 players are in the academics you kicked against it...saying under 20 are for young professionals... forgetting that there is hardly any true under 20 player in the NPFL...what we have there are players in their 20s and 30s parading as 17-22 years old...reason why quickly fades away the moment they sign for one obscure clubs in north Africa or eastern Europe...

the painful thing about this team is...had it been Agboigun paraded true under 20 players and we loose this way...I won't feel too bad... but not go parading oldies.. players that will go into oblivion few years from now.... it is a serious loss for the super eagles in the long run...I just envy Senegal

you and I know that ogunbote was more qualified for this job...
better still Amuneke was there for the taking...he would've done a better job had it been he was given same support given to Paul....

his appointment was shroud with so much secrecy...it was influence that gave him the job not really base on merit.

just take a look at Senegal...they may likely gets some good recruit from their team into the national team....

but here we are..... a lazy ass coach who barely know what football entails all the time he coached an NPFL side he never won any trophy to save his life.....
