Thank you for this. I will be 31 by dec. I genuinely want to go for a Bsc just to correct my first degree. Just that it is possible i do a change of program after everything(i mean when i land canada). Guess my chances are slim because of my age but will shoot my shot 1) So is it possible i include it in my statement of purpose? 2)Do i need a letter of English Proficiency? oluwadelana:Go for a program higher than a Bsc. If you don't show progression with the difficulty level in getting a visa for Nigerian applicant you'll most likely be refused for not proving you're a bonafide student and purpose of visit. That's my simple advice for you. You have a lot of experience, and if you can prove it you can always go for pre masters. |

Ibitowaoa: You don't need to book an appointment, in Nigeria it's a waste of time. Just gey there very early. I booked an appointment also and realised it didn't count. Either ways I used about 25mins there. Goodluck. |

Kennylad90: Congratulations on your approval. You're in the right platform to get all the information you seek and like I always tell people, you can use similar documents but always remember everyone as a unique case. You can start by following this tips; 1. Get a sponsor with a decent financial portfolio. Parents are the best option to sponsor. And if you're making use of a 3rd party sponsor then make sure you prove the relationship that exists. 2. Show a proper time line of your study gaps and supporting documents to prove it. 3. Employment documents and future job/business prospects is a must to prove your chances of returning. 4. Police character certificate to show you haven't been convicted for any crimes. These are simple tips and if you take your time to go through the forum you'll get more. Good luck. 1 Like |

Hi, Congratulations on your admission, I also have an admission to BU and whoever told you to apply in Canada is lying to you. You cannot apply for a student visa in Canada while on a visit visa. You can only apply from here (Nigeria). So, dust yourself, go to the IRCC website or the first page of this thread and get the information you need for applying, and apply for your visa ASAP, because application processing time is increasing. Good luck. Tibex2: |

O boy book your appointment and go for the biometrics. When you get there, show them the confirmation of booking. The more time you waste, the longer it'd take for your application to be processed. Ibitowaoa: 1 Like |

No need to defer your admission Tibex2, apply for that visa right now. You can still get it before September when school resumes. Brandon University resumes in September. OptimusPrime21: |

Pls all the gurus in the house, help me with this question. I am working with my HND accounting. Masters is a must in my field for promotion and other incentives. I've been brousing and realise that no matter how high my cgpa is, I can't be admitted into Canadian uni for masters in accounting. I have two options: 1yr PGD or 2yrs PGD. Now choosing Iyr PGD, so I can come back and use it to enrole into masters in Nigeria. Or 2yrs PGD, which is more convincing cos my aim is to obtain masters? Can I progress to masters in Canada after completing a PGD program with HND cert? |

Ancy12: Yes, you will. You will even get an apartment if you add some little money. That's why life is simple and inexpensive in such province or territory. But don't try this in Ottawa, Toronto and BC cause it's crazy out here Forget whatever you see at Kijiji cause when you see them face to face the story the price would change. Ottawa and Toronto landlords don't joke with first and last payment bullshit and at least 4 months least. This country is crazy, they tax you for any f****in sh*t 20hrs is Being unfair for student to work. It's unfair cause you gon pay tax for everything even if you buy toothpick or biro. HOLYSHIT! if you drink water, buying stuff in the mall, taxi... every daily activities here is a tax. Someone (student) got deported cause he worked more than 20hrs in a week. (crazy) even if you're lucky and didn't get deported, you will meet them in PGWP, PR or Citizenship. (Maad) PS: do you know the reasons they ask you for your assets is because they want to collect taxes from you? If you have assets in your home country and its fetching you money. You will meet them when you come here If you're buying new clothes for your travel please endeavour to remove the stickers cause they will tax you for all of it if they find out Canada is very very fine and sweet wella... Too many beautiful ladies out here but don't be carried away with it and play your card pretty well. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello everyone! Happy may 29th. I just received my GCMS note pertaining to my first application. The reasons for refusal as stated in the IRCC correspondence letter is Purpose of visit, Family ties in Canada and country of residence, Personal assets and financial status. Meanwhile, in the GCMS letter, it was stated I'm accompanying a minor to school, which is not true. Please Ogass FrankRobben, Qudkom, Mellow, Austacus, and all, willing to help a brother on his second attempt, your input would be highly appreciated. Thanks NB: In my first application, I used the service of an agent who wasn't concerned about the outcome of my application, rather for selfish interest. I didn't submit a mission statement, and the receipt of the tuition I made, was also omitted.

I’m so sorry about the delay you’re experiencing... Maybe this has to do with the office that treated our applications. Was yours treated in the London office? OptimusPrime21: |

oluwadelana: Despite age in some circumstances can be a hindrance, but its totally not in most cases. Also, going for a second degree might pose to be a redflag in certain ways but not in all ways. My advise: 1. Do a thorough research on your previous and prospect studies, draw out loopholes and vital points that could make a convincing case of your intended switch and a second degree. 2. Write a very good SOP, showing a career progression and self development with your prospect second degree. 3. Show relevant evidence whether voluntary, paid, or freelancing done that relates to your prospect course. 4. Do more research BTW you don't need proficiency letter or test score to apply for a study permit. Good luck! |

emmaxman: Its not possible for you to know your application number and UCI number on your first application. If this is a reapplication, fill in the UCI number in your previous application. After everything, you're to validate 1 Like |

abelorode: How sure are you that the agent didn't do something contrary to the information provided by you. On the other hand, i have seen a gcms notes were the VO was lousy and paid less attention to the applicants refusal concerns in the notes. This is an error on the side of the VO. I think little or nothing can be done especially id the notes contains other sensitive information about you. BTW do well to screen shot the appropriate page were the VO addressed the main concerns, you can check the last 2-3 pages. |

Kushbozgyration: Some schools do not condone this, but there is always a way out of every given situation like an unforeseen circumstances. You can contact the school and lay your intention of withdrawal simply because of certain financial constraints recently faced by your sponsor which has made you consider withdrawing your admission in order to avoid financial restrain and academic distraction etc. Use words/reasons that would/might make them feel empathy Good luck! |

Please my course involve that I should apply with a full time work permit along with the study permit. How can I convince the Visa Officer that full-time work permit along with my study permit which I am about to apply for is not an avenue to secure a good job in Canada. Please the guru in the house I need your contribution. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by OptimusPrime21: 3:13pm On May 29, 2019 |
akanbijm: Huh... almost everybody here is applying with a work permit.... who isn't going there to secure a job... if u start trying to explain that, the vo will see you have a motive or you even tot about it.. leave that one... all u need to worry about is showing the vo you are genuinely going for studies and coming back, get your financials intact and tight... 1 Like |
