Very true. My playlist has earned me so much tips ehn. Especially from early morning peeps going to work.
A rider was once playing Jay-Z's Holy Grail album from his aux and we were both jamming every line. Nigga was shook.

Nice one, pray for better riders... One rider once ask me to pull over at one nice buka ard d street that burst out of Oshopey. He gave me the go ahead to eat anything, shy me, even the chickens r eyeing me, I just ate rice and meat, while I watch him tackle pounded yam. Trip end at 5k and he transfer 7k.

Wake up guy and smell the fish...Ehailing was not designed for rentals but we Nigerians we too get Agidi and we don't want to hear the truth. How realistic and for how long do you think drivers want to be paying 30k or now 25k weekly and keeping at best 10k weekly only to themselves. It is even better if it is HP but not all these silly killer throat HP am talking company HP where you have a car and you pay 50-60k monthly for 24 months max...But since Rentals has become a source of livelihood for some what can we do but hope for the best but knowing the inevitable.

You skipped my simple question and you're doing mathematics, I didn't ask if it's viable or not. I aksed if its not designed with rental in mind, how come uber matches partners with driver?? Back to your calculations, uber was profitable before the 40 percent reduction in fares and owners weren't complaining.

Didn't uber have uber x or something like that. Coz I remember when uber first came ..I believe uber x was their luxury division.. I recall people using suv ,big big luxury cars like they did in Yankee.. I can recall very well, well .. But uber eventually scrap that part.. Due to very low patronage o ..2010 cars now be beans o. Nigerian riders just want to get from Point A to B in a / c with comfort than the regular cab o.. If you to say there is a demand via app for luxury cars and uber did it and didnt work ..we talking about about a multi national company with a well known brand all over the world.. Think am bros ,make u no lead this investors / sheep to the slaughter house ... think am o ..either way I wish you the best ...

Even if uber decides to do 3% commission officially.. People will still complain.. The uber app is one of those things that very few Nigerians were able to manipulate.. So alot of frustration is out there. Also most of these partners lack maintenance culture both privately and professionally. Until all the maintenence culture is practice very well, uber will not be profitable even if it is 1% commission ..
That been said in other countries like South Africa ,uber has partners/ rental options... even in the USA uber has rental too ,I don't know how many do rental.. But I know it exists , A friend of mine in the USA car was at the mechanic for a week .. He had to go through uber via Herzts car rental.. Uber and Hertz car rental have a partnership.. So my guy rented a car for one week . He paid like $249.00 a week

I loved it

Was like a cute toy

grin
Sprayed it and put black wheels grin
Used it in my university days till last year
Sold it to a friend who cruises it now
Then got a 2006 pilot which has been faithful too

Funny how my first car a Toyota showed me hell and I found favor with Hondas

Either you bought a lemon or you are downright lying

In South Africa and the USA ..uber get rentals bro .. They are companies especially rental car companies that will give u a car for uber to rent.. But if you going to that and get a cheaper price you have to go through uber to get the discount... now the question remains how money people are on rental? That I can't tell you.. But I can tell you for sure that uber does rental in the USA ... please don't let's us give out false information o

You are obviously alone in your illusions. I've had gazzuzz's proposed model going for me for three years already. I have a group of guys that used to take my car for 45k/week whenever they are in the country. Sometimes they are in the country at the same time and I had to source for good cars for them.
If you think transport business starts and end with uber, good for you.

And how often is that bros, excuse me how constant is it week . I known last year I got few offers like that.. A guy was coming from Yankee, so I gave him my car on a lease for 30k a week or so. But that is not even the point, the point is how often can it be to really turn a profit .. ..if it is profitable I am willing to start bringing in 2013 cars even Range Rover self now ,now, now..

There are riders who are tired of the 2005 Corolla's and want to turn up in 2019 prado's. I will meet that need. instead of running with the crowd, identify a target audience, and meet a need.

Invest smart. There are greater rewards.

Funny thing is the guy I was renting my car to begged and convince me to let him have my car. I picked him in my three months old very clean white 2007 camry SE. I was scared as he was a total stranger that I picked on uber. We familiarized for a whole week. Inviting me to all sorts of event in VI and his house. I drafted an agreement form, had my girlfriend(now wife) secretely record our convo, took pictures with him and his guarantor, even collected 100k upfront as guarantee against damages. This is the guy that introduced me to his friends abroad and they would always call me up when they are around. I take the car to them at the airport most times. They've not called me in about four months now, they probably are not back in the country or found an even more luxury car to hire.

If you think these set of guys are the only ones that need this service, you must be a slowpoke.

I never considered 07 elantra upwards and Corrolla 07 upwards as luxury cars .. Those cars are like company cars that look very presentable for offline trip .. That is why at the time I started with 07 cars ,when uber requirement was from 05.

While I was at it, I get called at least once a month. I was even making more on uber in a week then so i wasnt always looking forward to their call. But i often use the time to rest and recharge. One had my car for good three months from December 2017 through February 2018 at 45k/week. You can do the calculation yourself.

My point is, not everybody wants to drive 12hours a day before making 10k profit. If I do three trips a week in my luxury car and net 30k at the end of the week, I'm good. Its not going to be a full time job. You've never driven a day on uber, you don't know the whole story.

Besides, if the model doesn't work there is absolutely nothing to lose. Simply sell your barely used luxury car and invest in something else.

It's different doesn't mean its stupid.
