OWNwithEASE: I advise you do another T.vaginal U/S scan at another lab and compare the result. Scan results are conflicting (from experience). Besides pregnancy is not clear on scan until certain weeks. P.S. Do not say anything to do the Radiologist. Just say u want to do the scan as referred. |

Transvaginal ultrasound is a imaging technique used to create a picture of the genital tract in women. The hand-held device that produces the ultrasound waves is inserted directly into the vagina, close to the pelvic structures, thus often producing a clearer and less distorted image than obtained through transabdominal ultrasound technology, where the probe is located externally on the skin of the abdomen. |

NaijaOlosho:It seems you didn't understand me. And I don't know why you are already insulting me. It would be nice if you apologize. Now read my points: He did a scan, brought the written report to this Forum. If he was sent for a scan by a doctor, he should forward the result to his doctor. If the person that did the scan is a doctor, no need to bring it (his report) here for another interpretation. If he wanted to get people's view of the scan, he would have uploaded the captured image (s), rather than a report. |

[quote author=OWNwithEASE post=79111333]My wife went for a blood test in 2 different labs and the result from both centers indicates She was pregnant. We did a scan but the scan did not see She was pregnant, we were then advised to do Transvaginal U/S scan. Our next appointment with the doctor is next week but She is not at peace at the moment. Pending the time we see the doctor next week, Pls any medical practitioner should explain what the statement of result mean [/quoterh This is my work from what he wrote I suggest early pregnancy n she should go back in a month time but the sonologist doesn't even know his work ,I mean how could he diagnose normal when he saw decidual sign |

You just unleashed monitoring spirits and demons into your private life. Some things are best kept private, bringing them on social platforms will only worsen things. Next week to see the dr is only 7 days away at most, not a lifetime. Only God gives children, so rest on Him and He never fails. Anxiety prevents pregnancy! A bit of self control, moving forward. A gestational sac can be seen as early as the fifth week of pregnancy or 3 weeks after conception using an ultrasound The scan says there is a suggestion of decidual reaction. This is a feature seen in very early pregnancy when the endometrium thickens around the gestational sac. Meaning there is a possible early pregnancy The scan also ruled out a possible ovarian and ectopic pregnancies. Good news for you here Finally the sonographer noted a non gravid uterus. This simply means a non heavy uterus of not more than 60g. Anything heavier than 60g suggests a pregnancy Discussions : From the foregoing it is important to repeat the scan within a week to confirm pregnancy or a miscarriage. The scan did not rule out that your wife may be pregnant neither did it confirm same. Like I said earlier anything below 5 weeks of pregnancy gives this problem A clearblue urine pregnancy home test kit should give you a more accurate confirmation of a pregnancy within 5 weeks and below. Since two labs seems to support a positive pregnancy report, I suggest you buy a digital clearblue at home kit from any pharmacy around you and conclusively confirm if your wife is pregnant. If clearblue shows a positive result, it gives you a smiley face and tells you how many weeks the pregnancy is. It would have helped if you gave us the date your wife last mensural period started, called Last mensural period or LMP. Note that I said the date it started, not the date it ended. This is usually important to note if a scan report is reliable and if the blood test you did at the lab can also be relied upon. It is also used in calculating how old the pregnancy is and the baby's expected due date Best of luck 3 Likes 1 Share |

OWNwithEASE: From your story, it's like you people have been trying to conceive.... your wife may or may not be pregnant now. The result could be a false positive one (most likely) or a true positive one. If you look at the scan, the right ovary is BIG (more than >10ml) and contains about 19 follicles (>12) and has a dominant follicle of about 22 by 18mm in diameter. If this scan was done at the middle of her cycle then rush and meet with your wife because ovulation is about to take place and the chances of true pregnancy is very high (assuming all other things are OK) If the scan was done outside the middle of her cycle, then it depicts a not-so-good condition that can also give a false positive result. Again if she has been on some fertility (ovulation) drugs, then it can explain why the endometrial thickness is 11mm (means it's very thick) which may be misinterpreted as a decidual reaction by the sonographer. She could also be truly pregnant but just needs a little time.. 2 weeks and repeat the scan. Lastly, I suggest you go back to your doctor (if you don't have one, then look for one... a Gynaecologist... and have some heart to heart discussion with him or her. 1 Like 1 Share |

SHE'S PREGNANT. BUT THE SAC HASN'T YET DEVELOPED. THAT'S BECAUSE THE PREGNANCY IS STILL LESS THAN 4 WEEKS. THE POSITIVE DECIDUA AND 11MM THICKENED ENDOMETRIUM IS A POSITIVE INDICATION. BY THIS TIME NEXT WEEK... A GESTATIONAL SAC WILL BE VISIBLE. CONGRATS! ©RAD ELECTDBAHDGUY! |
