If Brendan Rodgers is as good tactically as you have been wanting us to believe, he would have managed the team better after Suarez left.

The same Brendan Rodgers that became bereft of ideas after narrowly losing the league. How can one go from almost winning the league playing beautifully to struggling for 6th position in just a season?

He was abysmal in the first few months of his last season that Liverpool had to sack him.

Arguing with the Good joe is futile

Even as a Liverpool fan since 2001, I knew Rodgers rode on the excellent display of Suarez so much that when Suarez left, I knew that Liverpool would struggle even before the season started. And they did struggle...

My verdict on him will be out till the end of next season

I didnt want KC to go to the AFCON either based on the fact that 1. He has not improved. 2. He has not been playing. Now that every Kelechi hater has had their dream achieved of dropping him lets let the matter rest. No need for all the mockery and dress down.

My best wishes are with Iheanacho. He must come back stronger and prove his critics wrong.

Forgiveness , you are dead wrong that Iheanacho should not have gone to the world cup. He was active for club during world cup preparations and scored some very important goals. Your dislike for Iheanacho is not exactly based on his performances....Its purely tribal and everyone here knows this. So, flush your bias and bigoted opinion down the toilet!

Oga,there's nothing like Kelechi haters here.. When the guy was having it rough at Leicester we didn't see u showing him love here.. na today u wan come scream haters!

The national team isn't anybody's personal property. u either perform or get dropped..

Three years ago if anybody had predicted that Iheanacho wouldn't be heading to the AFCON we would have tagged him a mad man! it's unfortunate things turned out like this..but such is life...it's up to Nacho to make good use of this free time to work harder and bounce back...

Nothing wrong with having this opinion. However, if it's as a result of Nacho getting dropped then this is beyond pitiful of you.
This isn't 2015. Nacho has been poor for 2 years now. Stop acting like he's Mbappe.

You people shouldn't act surprised

He compared Nacho to Mbappe back then

Me, I am just laughing...they tagged us haters didn't they grin cheesy

Some clamored for him to be included

This rumors about Kelechi trying to attack the coach and had to be restrained. Mikel also had to be restrained as he wanted to slap him. How true is this ??

Enemies of the national team at work again.

even though Nacho omission pains him..
he still wish the team success and kept it cool.
that omission nor pain me at all....

just that I have begin to suspect this Paul of a player.... he look tall for nothing and too slow...@yesterday's match

Someone said he was trying to avoid injury so as not to scuttle his chances of representing us as the AFCON

Let's wait and see what he offers at the AFCON proper sha

My people guess which team lost in a friendly to Namibia today

Let me give you a hint one of their countrymen loves to come here shouting average all the time while posting not too funny pictures

Very dry pictures and banal comments always from that certain guy.

I dare him to type without using the word "average"

The only set of people who are complaining about Iheanacho being dropped are those who are being blinded by sentiments.. Iheanacho shouldn't have made the 25 man list in the first place, all things considered.... its funny that a few years ago, this same guy was nominated for the golden boy award.. now he has regressed so badly..

If he is really serious he would take the first flight back to England tomorrow in preparation for the pre season.... All this excuse of him being a back up striker to Vardy is already stale... He was a backup striker during his time at city and he delivered.. a back up striker that played 30 league games with one goal is not a serious backup striker at all..
Either he leaves on loan or work his socks off in pre season...

As for Ajayi,it was unfortunate that he missed out.. his versatility and goalscoring ability would have been needed at the AFCON... I would have dropped Shehu for him if I were Rohr.. Shehu has long over lived his usefulness at the RB position..

Overall, it's a good list...we can only hope that Rohr doesn't mess it up by deploying the wrong formation and tactic like he did at the world cup...

Gbam but what can we say...Rohr is the coach and probably knows why and what he is looking ofr

I wish the team all the very best smiley

Here is my assessment of the chances of each of the teams (done this for the last 11 years)

FAVOURITES
-Egypt
-Senegal
-Morocco

OUTSIDE CHANCES
-Cameroun
-Nigeria
-Ghana
-CIV
-Algeria

FIGHTING CHANCES
Tunisia
Congo
Mali
Guinea
South Africa

NEVER-SAY-NEVER
- Angola
- Tanzania
- Zimbabwe
- Burundi

NO-HOPERS
-Benin
-Uganda
-Mauritania

-Namibia
-Guinea Bissau

Now, on a personal level, which do I want to win?

1. Nigeria (for obvious reason)
2. Mali (they have been underachieving for long - mostly gets knocked out in semis)

Which do I think will win?
Morocco or Egypt

Senegal have very good individual players but not a great team.

By the way, here are the prize monies:

1st- $4.5m
2nd - $2.5m
3rd & 4th (semi-finalists) - $2m
5th - 8th (quarter-finalists) - $800k

Noteworthy that the prize money for the AFCON winners is far less than what teams that were eliminated in the group stage at the last FIFA World Cup received ( $8m).
