Buy unripe plantain , peel them and cut into piece after that dry and take it machine that will ground but the colour is another thing ooooo
He can also mix it with wheat.
Or he can buy wheat and take it to grounders to ground mixed with the unripe dried plantain .

The best swallow for high glucose level is OAT SWALLOW.It's very low in cholesterol and gluten free.Though a bit expensive compared to other low starchy swallows.

Since he has tried all this maybe he should try cocoyam heard is good for them according to one doctor but he should ask his doctor cause what works for Papa Nkechi may not work for Baba Lola.

this is what the OP needs. I have someone that even nutritionist of a particular teachings hospital couldn't get his sugar level regulated. Went to the US for treatment, same result until he met someone who introduced him to food plan (eat right), funnily rice was part of the food plan that was charted for him. oatmeal,plantain amala they are both good for him.He has to eat more of vegetable soup with no oil.Please reduce his oil intake.
There are some juice you can also prepare for him
Cucumber,lettuce,celery and a touch of Apple.

If you can, get him acha(i think the English name is hungry rice). When I was in jos there was this bread made from acha specificcally meant for those suffering from diabetes.Acha is also used in making swallow(tuwon acha).

Use Oats. My mum does. Just buy the usual oat products like quaker oats, take it to the market, they'll grind it for you the way egusi is ground, then you prepare it the way you prepare wheat.

Yes acha is good for diabetics. You can also blend oat and make a swallow from it. Also look up for samvita(sugar free).

My dad has being diabetic for like 35 years now, even before I was born. We boil unripe plantain and pound it into swallow. We use the local mortar and pestle.

Hmm...I have the same reaction after eating wheat flour. Perhaps your dad is reacting to preservatives mixed in the flour. Try changing the brand of plantain flour.

This is really the best thing when it comes to eating healthy swallow. The carbs in raw plantain are actually complex sugars and it's difficult to break down to glucose and fructose which actually do the damage in diabetes.
