Definitely possible... but my bro u & I know that’s not a small figure for one year especially if you’ve got bills and other responsibilities...lol
ugsams:

It's achievable, it all depends on your lifestyle, how long and hard you're willing to work and your pay rate.

yeah bro, it is really not a small figure, it takes sacrifice, discipline and extra hours of work to achieve. Also, I think cost of living is a little bit cheaper down here in Hamilton.

Oh definitely a bit cheaper outside Auckland....my sister in-law stays in Huntley just before where u are and house prices are ridiculous low compare to Auckland. But not sure I can live anywhere else apart from Auckland and Wellington.

I get your point, Auckland is about the only place where I feel alive here... I like the busy and bigger cities. Unfortunately I haven't been to Wellington yet. As for Huntly I heard lots of negative stories about the place which I didn't take serious until I have my own personal experience. I will never live there for any reason.

Lagos can be rough and tiring.

For those of us who have had opportunities of crisscrossing popular cities, we can only hope one day, it would be better.

I wish I can have my family abroad permanently, to give them the best of care in terms of life, healthcare and sense of belonging.

If I had to travel from Lagos to Abeokuta 3 times and spent ₦59,000 to obtain int'l Passport, then if I give up on Nigeria, no one should blame me

you’re not alone bro.... I miss Naija everyday even though they say it’s a jungle.
It’s too lonely here sometimes.....Even most local find it too politically correct that u can’t just meet a person once and have an instant friendship.....you hardly find people with more than 10 close friends unlike Naija where u can have 500....lol

Hello house, Please, does anyone know how long it takes for the school to send Unconditional offer of admission after seeing the transcript? Also will they post it or it will be mailed?. Please is anyone currently studying at Victoria University, Wellington? How is the cost of living there?

Thank you for your reasonable response.
I appreciate your time and effort.
However, welding, teaching and other vocational jobs need to be registered before applying for a talent work visa through an accredited employer.
Kindly clarify that.
ugsams:

My answer will be biased based on my experience here. I will say it's mostly trades such as welding. I have seen lots of my colleagues been hired from overseas, and many others who are already here move jobs easily. I think welding job is promising here and it's mostly in Skill shortage lists of most countries. However, in Nigeria, most trades are highly underated. we look at them as a poor man's job and as such we don't have a proper system for apprenticeship or internationally recognised vocational education framework/certification.

In addition to these, I have seen Nurses, Teachers, and just few weeks ago my colleague's brother came on a work visa to work for a forestry company.

You can also check the accredited employer list and see what's in there for you. Here is the link

Yes, you know me in AU thread sharing information. Well, do you know what's changed since 2017 and now? Oftentimes, I provide response to people's questions on this thread does that change my location to NZ?
It's fine for you to make assumptions, but you're assertive with your assumptions which isn't right and fair.
davodyguy:

No, I think you're perceiving it wrongly.
Solin and I ha r been pals here since my 2017 AU trip that we shared information.

I think I visited AU before he did and thought he was processing AU 2 years ago. This is the sole reason I asked. It's very harmless

Teaching as a profession and many other trades requires that but I'm sure welding doesn't require any registration. what they normally ask for welding is that you have at least a level 4 certificate in welding or many verifiable years of experience in it. Once you're here you can get your welding tickets.

The passport you sent to SA is just for capturing of data and it's return doesn't mean they have reached a decision on your application. South Africa doesn't handle your visa assessment. As for the application timeline, I have seen who got his PhD study visa in 2 months and another in over 4 months. Don't worry, just be a little bit patient, PhD study is a quite flexible so you can still get your visa and come over at a later time just keep your university updated on your progress. Good luck with your application.

Hello guys.

Today not really good

One of my colleagues has just been denied visa.

She sent application last week Monday and today Tuesday (about 7 days after) they refused her.

They said 3 things

1. She didn't provide evidence of previous travel(which she did provide)
2. That she didn't provide what she's going to do in NZ(which she sent them conference registration)
3. That she didn't convince them that she would return.

They now said this decision can not be overturned, and she should not ask them any question in that regard.

I've told her to reapply, cos we've been attending same conference since 2013.

Guys what do you think?

She's yet to send passport to SA.

I'm also yet to send mine and she opined that I should wait

nawa oh, not good at all... this is not in there nature to turn down application without asking for what is not included in the application. unless they have changed. 2015 when i visited Auckland, the person handling my visa application called me when ever she needs clarifications, she also send mail afterwords. Just re-apply my brother.

I think it may be deliberate.

See reasons below. They said they reserve the right to ask for more information, but chose not to

We have considered all the evidence provided and the circumstances of your case and have identified the following concerns which mean we are not satisfied that you are a bona fide applicant:

You have not provided sufficient evidence to demonstrate strong employment or financial commitments in your home country

You have not provided sufficient evidence of international travel to demonstrate a history of compliance with immigration requirements

You have not provided adequate evidence to support your purpose of travel to New Zealand

Because of these concerns, your application for a visitor visa has been declined.

We have considered if requiring a bond or granting a limited visa would lessen our concerns or if there are any special circumstances to justify an exception to immigration instructions, but can find no reason for any of these.

Requesting a Reconsideration

There is no right of appeal or reconsideration against a decision on a temporary entry class visa application made outside of New Zealand.

If you have new information that has not been considered by INZ, you can submit a further application. This would be considered on its merits and would need to show that you meet all relevant New Zealand government immigration instructions.

No it’s never deliberate to deny anyone a visa.
This is how it works ....Each immigration officer is trained to use their discretion to judge each application. However there’s a list of eligibility criteria that needs to be ticked on paper by the case officer before any visa is granted. This eligibility criteria is further checked by a supervisor or senior staff to make sure every case officer do not miss any information and have made the right decision on each application.

The burden of proof is on the applicant to make sure the case officer is provided with every necessary document and information. The list of this eligibility criteria is not confidential. You can easily find them on the immigration site if u search enough. It’s a very open process.

If you’re applying for a temporary entry visa ( visitor, tourist, work etc), the immigration officer is “ not obligated” to ask u for any missing piece or pieces in ur application. They have every right to deny it first time. And u cannot appeal or demand any further explanation.

However if it’s a permanent visa category like a resident visa application, the immigration officer is “obligated” to inform the applicant through a letter called “Potentially prejudicial information” PPI Letter, before making the final decision on the application. This letter allows u to clarify whatever doubt they have or provide any missing piece. Even if this category of visa is denied and u think it has been done in error or unjustly, u can appeal the results or even petition the immigration minister.

If a case officer have concerns but you’ve provided every necessary documents and information required for ur visa category, as long as the case officer can tick all the boxes on their paper you are very still likely to get the visa in most cases.

On the other hand, If your motive and intentions are genuine and crystal clear to the case officer but unfortunately s/he can’t tick all the eligibility criteria boxes on the paper, the visa will be declined no matter what.
Except the case officer is in a very good mood or maybe just a very nice and patient person and s/he is willing to go outside of the call of duty to help.

I hope u understand better
