there is only one sure way to confirm this....

mayor get in that ride, get going and when in gear 3, rev to 7k rpm and then downshift to gear 1

let's see what happens sef, my own prediction is that nothing will happen....

the gear will just instinctively know that it was a mistake and disengage gear, throwing the stick in the neutral position....

mayor let's do this grin grin

Not even gear 2!
I think from 3 to reverse would do the job better.

Shifting to gear 2 is to gather more momentum without slacking....
So far we are going up, there's no issue.
But it won't be palatable to downshift from such rpm
Are you aware of power band? It is a range of rpm that the engine delivers its highest power, below or above the power band you will only slow you down. Racing drivers know their power band and shift gears within the power band.

Say your redline is 7k rpm and your power band is 3-5k, your best upshift point is the highest power band rpm and the best down shift point is your lowest power band rpm. The car achieves the best acceleration only in this band. If you accelerate till 7k, you will feel the car losing power.

If shifting to 2 will not get you to the base of you power band, 3 would be better.

I'm looking forward to drive a V6 sedan manual transmission.... I'll put your lessons into use.

Please house, has anyone come across 08 camry V6 with manual transmission before? Or 05 Accord v6?

Hoping to own one

He's not "maybe right"; he's absolutely correct. That's why more gears usually translate to being faster. The more gears you have, the easier it is to keep the car within its powerband.

too much torque, I don't think you will find a 2GR-FE mated to a manual transmission.

I might be wrong undecided

Not totally true at bolded.
The gear ratio and engine capacity matters too.
I've read of some cars with 7 speed transmission that reaches its top speed on the 6th gear and the 7th gear drops the speed down a little as it's designed for cruising and ease on gas.

Engine capacity matters, of course. All things being equal, a car with more gears will be faster, sir. Most moderns transmission have their last gears as overdrive (for cruising and economy), so having more gears still helps.
