Okay, good info to know.

Thanks for the share!

@Justwise is right. I applied to visit the U.S for just 2 weeks, I got the visa and spent 1month even though my passport was stamped for 6months at POE. When my visa expired, my renewal was refused and the VO said I requested to spend just 2 weeks but spent a month.

Hi justwise and everyone. My visa got approved 3 weeks after my intended travel date on my visa application. I said I was going to spend 10 days when I applied but can I spend up to 14 days now since the visa came out after my intended travel date?

Will appreciate your response.
Thanks All

You definitely can.

Good afternoon all, @ Justwise, I have applied for Uk Visit visa twice for the past two years and was denied twice, first denial was wrong phone number from my invitee (my Mum which is based in the Uk) and secondly was an amount i put in my account way above my salary. And they said i do not earn upto that. Now i want to apply for the third time, in the section where it states what is the total amount i have for this trip, i intend saying i have nothing asin zero naira or zero pounds! Cause normally my mum is fending for my trip, in the previous applications i normally put 200 pounds and they reply saying i do not have sufficient funds for me to return back. I work and currently earn 90k. What do you advice pls?

You can spend more than the 10days tho... You will be asked at the POE but make sure you don't make yourself warrant of questions staying too long because they have believed you have more important things to do in your home country... From my view.. You might stay for your 14 days. My last visit was 12 days. My 1 penny

Hello everyone, my spouse is applying for a UK visit visa. Concerning itinerary flight and hotel booking I was told that the TLS staff can assist with that.
Please advice.

You can do that yourself. Use travelstart.com.ng. Choose pay at bank branch. Your itinerary will be sent to your email address

Have you considered your decision to take a loan of 1m to visit the U.K. ? So when you come back from the trip you start paying off the loan every month from your salary?? Do you honestly think this is a wise decision? Or you don’t plan to return to Nigeria??

I don't think it makes sense to take a loan for visiting visa, you will be refused if you can't explain how you got that money and if loan is mentioned then chances are that you will be refused.

I think that your chances of getting the visa is very low and refusal is more likely

I sent my passport via Dropbox but was returned without visa asking me to schedule interview. It was during the interview the VO said so. This is not a U.S visa thread though

I picked up my passport today and six months Visa was granted.

Below is the time line:

23rd April: Did biometrics at TLS office Ikeja.

23rd April: Visa application transferred to DMC.

1st June: Sent an email to UK Visa requesting status of Visa application.

3rd June: Received an email from UK Visa informing me that a decision has been reached and that I will receive an email from the VAC with respect to passport pick-up.

3rd June: Received an email from TLS informing me that my document is ready for pick-up.

3rd June: Received another email from TLS that my document has been dispatched via DHL.

6th June: DHL attempted delivery but I was not around. Document was returned to their office.

Note: I used self service and no Visa agent was utilised.

Thank God for His favour.

I was not sent any email concerning the application not being straightforward. I only received an email from UK Visa on 7th June stating that my application has been dispatched from UK Visa section. This email came after TLS sent me theirs. However, the date Visa was issued was 15th May as stated on the visa.

Kindly advise my letters were addressed to Walter Carrinton in VI but I want to use Ikeja as my submission centre.
The idea is to avoid paying the 55 pounds each for a family of five.

If the letter you're referring to is the one from your employer, I don't think that is an issue. The letter should be addressed to UK High Commission, and it is located at Walter Carrington, VI. The Visa Application Center (VAC), is different from UK High Commission.

The first application I did was filled by my Mum’s lawyer, wrong phone number was the issue and I got denied.
And I did the second one through an agent here in Nigeria and it failed.
Trying to do the third one now that is y I am here asking questions.

Hello Everyone,

Kudos to those answering questions here. Please, I have some questions too. It is about two weeks before the stated visit to UK and visa is not yet out. Considering the increasing price of flights, what are our options?

Thanks!
