Medicals are valid for a year.
None of the options are objectively better, it depends on your situation.

Oh thanks. I did upfront on 20 Sep 2018. So am about to reapply again as 3rd time for visa but am thinking not to include the upfront medical though it will expire by this September which mean I may likely sumit before then but i won't include the upfront medical. I hate it when you got upfront medical pass and you will thought all is well at the end it will b refuse so it's better to get medical request and have 80 percent assurances of approve ..

In that case, if you’re applying online before September (say July, early August) you could submit the application without Medicals and then submit your medicals by web form towards that date if you still haven’t received a request by say a week before expiry. I don’t know how the process of withholding your upfront medical result would go if you’re applying at the VAC.

@Optimusprime21 and @Tlontin

I checked the CIC portal today for my fam and saw application updated , that usually happens very shortly before the counterfoil is issued so I think we should be getting the counterfoil in the next day max and passports back by end of week
Perhaps you should track.. your fam’s own might be with vfs already!! Someone got back his passport without the application updated!!
My portal is still the same!!

Have anyone did upfront medical and forgot to sumit later get medical request.... Anyway I feel something the upfront is just that it will always be pass but it can't tell the outcome of final decision.

Getting a medical request wont tell you the outcome of final decision either....its just a possibility. anything might get wrong during the continued eligibility review. i think Upfront medical saves time.

Try to explain how Petroleum engineering is related to Environmental engineering to the vo, it should be well detailed (cos these VOs don't really know these things so you have to present it like you are explaining to a novice). All these should be in a separate LOE(apart from your SOP). Also, make sure you talk about your funding. i.e your LOE should be about your funding and how related petroleum engineering and environmental engineering are(shouldn't be hard at all)

Please can I pm you. I need your assistance

Guys, are we not kinda missing the point why this forum was created. For the past few hours all i see are people trying to drag unnecessary issues and forgetting the main point. Someone posted his gcms note for us to help him but no one responded. Instead we are treating trivial matters.
As we proceed we should bear in mind that no one knows it all.
Most of our gurus gained their experience from this same forum.so sometimes they might get it wrong or right, they are humans.
We all have unique profile, therefore our applications are obviously different. So no one should use theirs as yardstick.
Most importantly, we should always let God work by having total faith in him.
Goodnight everyone!!
Honestly I don't see the reason for some exchange of words that went down. As for me, I have learnt a lot here. As regards that person that sent the GCMS note, I couldn't view the full attachment. Please how can we view it?

Here is what happened to me, sometime ago, someone wanted a phone number for someone who sold winter wears, I had gotten the number from someone on nairaland, so I posted it here. Came back the next day, and it had disappeared. I just sent it privately to the individual.

My experience has made me think the highlighted statement may not always be true for nairaland. I don't really know how these things work, so I'd prefer to err on the side of caution.

95seun:

Based on your profile, while waiting for your GCMS I think you should seek out a couple experienced eyes on the thread and plead with them to go over your statement of purpose or better still provide you with pointers to improve your SOP. If I were playing devils advicate, I would wonder why you are not pursing a bachelors degree since you obviously have the funds available for that based on the fact that you’ve paid the college fees.

Also I think it’s counterproductive to the helpful nature of the thread that people don’t post links of services that have helped them in the past. Posting a link you are in no way affiliated with is different from rule number 6.
Suggesting a website you’ve used in the past with favourable experience which you can translate into a teaching experience saves more time and is a better teaching/learning experience than telling one to look on internet at the numerous options / going back and forth over messages and that is different from promoting a website that you are affiliated with. But anyway, what do I know.

Good morning everyone in house, below are my result of gcms note, pls help me attend to it or advise me on what do. Thanks"I have reviewed the application. Based on the *financial documents submitted*, the Applicant appears to have a *moderate level of establishment* in their country of residence, and as a consequence, this visit does not appear to be a reasonable expense. in addition, *I have therefore accorded less weight to the applicant's economic ties*. The applicant's *purpose of visit appears vague* and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application."
To be able to respond or help or suggest to you, I need to know the following concerning your application that was refused.
1. Did you apply as an employee or as a business owner?
2. How much was the closing balance in your personal account?
3. How much was the closing balance of your sponsor and how related to you? (though seems not to mean much to the VO these days)
4. What personal assets did you presented(documents)

Others can be tackled within a good SOP.

Bank transfer.
Choose either CAD or USD depending on which dollar is available to buy in CBN that would be done in your local bank.

Heyyyy I am seeing another thing again... Please what is the difference BTW LOE and SOP? Are you saying both should be in one study visa application?
Did you read my post about LOE at all? SOP is an applicant's way of explaining his/her application to the visa officer because CIC won't organise interviews for applicants, it is basically to explain things that might not be too clear to the vo (that's the only job your SOP plays), so if you think your application is simple and very easy to understand you don't need an SOP(so many people have applied without it and got their TRV).
Letter Of Explanation (LOE): For this, it is best to include it when you have been denied before, so you basically use it to explain the reason(s) for your previous denial only. Just a way of drawing the Bo's attention that you have been able to tackle the issues raised by them in tow previous application.
NB: like I said above, it is not compulsory to include any of these if you think your application is straight forward. The choice is yours

You can scan specific pages. With over 100pages scanning 25pages is fine.
● 1st 5 pages
● 5 pages of each subsequent month
● last 5 pages of soa

Also note that the scanned pages should tally with the range of inflow in the account. Dont scan pages that shows 60k,100k,200k only and then scan the last pages showing millions in inflow. The VO cares about the inflow in the account and the source. Also to understand thay the balance tallies with previous transactions....
Thank you so very much for the clue.
Pls may I know if one can submit his application and go for upfront medical few days after and send it to IRCC via webform. Pls.

Paying school fees has no effect on granting of TRV. There’s more to the TRV application than paying of fees. However, you need to satisfy the VO that you can afford both fees, upkeep and any other miscellaneous expenses for a year.
Options available to you include but are not limited to paying of fees but be knowledgeable on the schools refund policy, or having the funds in your account / sponsors account.
You can use a sponsor, co sponsor .. answer to this has already been hashed and rehashed on previous threads.
And nope there’s no express application option for TRV applications made by Nigerians.
