But why is it that Nigerians are always the first to here news and fake rumors about USA and even we living here don’t hear anything? For USA to place such a huge ban on something like banning F1 visas , it is not a day job. It can take years to approve something like that. Even trump cant just wake up one morning and say he wants to ban something, it has to go through Congress, and most of the things he has brought up Congress no even Dey answer am. Even till today, they no answer am for the WALL!! zolargeo: |

I was thinking not to share a ‘delayed’ visa transcript Incase anything goes wrong (coz of shame lol) but after a deep thought, I realized people learn from both approved and delayed transcript! My transcript yesterday 14-06-2019 at Abuja Embassy (2nd attempt) first was in Lagos, December 4th 2018 (am always meeting a man as Vo lol) N.B: these are just what I can remember (95% but not 100% ) Vo- good morning and how are you? Me- am fine, thank you and happy America’s flag day Vo- oooook (looking suprised) thank you. Why are you going to Troy ? Me- to pursue my second bachelors degree in computer and information science Vo- (stoped typing and focused on me, looking straight into my eyes) why second bachelor? Me- Firstly, passion and choice; unlike my first degree that happened by chance and not by choice; I have enormous passion for computer and info science . Secondly, job opportunity; you see sir, this program already guarante me a job opportunity with the EFCC through my uncle working at their operation department in lagos. Vo: (looking satisfied and going back to his typing) Why did you choose Troy ? Me- apart from the partial scholarship given to me and the academic excellence Troy is known for, I chose Troy coz their course structure is more flexible and their curriculum perfectly suit my study plan . Vo- (also looking satisfied) ooook! Vo- what othe school did you choose ? Me - Minot State University Vo- who is your sponsor ? Me - (although I filled my step father in my ds160) My mother and my step father Vo- do you have any proof of your mother sponsoring you ? Me- I only have my step father’s here Vo- pls gv it to me (opened the first page and start doing some calculations) Vo- I regret to inform you bla bla bla .... NB: Deficits was 7.6M and the account balance was 12.4M (the account was very legit, not fake, I just don’t know what happened, only God knows ) I just want to thank everyone contributing to this thread one way or the other, I pray God be with you and may you always see his favor too. I learnt a lot here tho . And to @fairheart, God bless you for conducting mock for me a night to my interview (even tho you were angry that I was jus asking for a mock a night to lol) am deeply grateful. I think it’s time to let go of America’s dream lol Money no too dey for now again lol Thanks once again everyone Regards! |

Adedayo65:i really think you should be going for a Masters degree , not another BSc, and you mentioned passion and choice as a reason for going for another degree, i really don't think that's convincing at all....don't give up, try and go for a MSc and prepare better |

Adedayo65:So you don't know you can do MSc in that course even if you don't have a related Bsc degree and still gain relevant knowledge. It's not always advisable to go for a second Bsc. Shoot for Msc please. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Pefuele(m): 4:47am On Jun 15, 2019 |
Olumuyiwalasode:I had a similar experience. The point he gave may not be excellent but are fair enough. He could have just talk about passion and personalize it with a short story. Jobs should have been left out...it is okay to say it offers more opportunities! However, the reason I see for the denial is not this response but the SOA.The calculations the VO they make shows he wasn't convince about something and he mentioned co-sponsored whereas he has only one SOA.If he has both it may have changed the complexion. I told the VO co-sponsored last year and she gave me a funny 'family is struggling financially look'. Another could have approved though! |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Time2win(m): 4:55am On Jun 15, 2019 |
Pefuele:Going for a second Bsc is not advisable. IT is a field that welcomes everybody irrespective of background. It's better to go through Msc route |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Brown2Green(m): 6:18am On Jun 15, 2019 |
Pefuele:. The reason of denial has Nothing to do with SOA. The VO has denied him since the point he mentioned going for a second Bsc. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by LagosismyHome(f): 6:29am On Jun 15, 2019 |
Adedayo65:Why did you highlight that it's your second degree.... usually you only highlight selling points and that's not a selling point. If its me i would have answered without mentioning that and only mention if it came up |

Good morning everyone. Thank you to everyone who gave their advice and suggestions the last time I made a post about my denied visa. After deliberating about it, I’m coming close to waiting for spring 2020 so maybe I can get some funding from schools to boost my chances. But I’m still of a mind to reapply for the visa to the university I chose, though I have no funding for that. My profile: GRE: 309, TOEFL: 105, GPA: 3.05/5 My question is, should I refire with a new transcript I’m working on or it’s more advisable to go with a funded program. Thank you. |

would it not make logical sense that you go for a PHD instead, with the present perception of Nigerians, and you being denied a B1/B2 recently you come off as desperate going for another MS degree, In my opinion, I would advise you shelve this idea of a second Msc and apply for a Phd you may be able to get funding as well Philtos: |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Adedayo65: 7:52am On Jun 15, 2019 |
I tried applying for msc, but my applications were rejected in both schools, they said I didn’t have a foundational course in computer science hence, I can’t be considered. That was why I just went for bsc Time2win: |
