As bad as this news is, it opens the door to a more energetic Nigerian display against Germany (if we make it). I'll just put Ordega in her position and deploy Ajibade to replace Ordega. Ogonna Chukwudi should be readying herself because its like the team is down to bare bones now.
By tomorrow night after Scotland vs Argentina, then we will know 90% if we're qualifying. If that game ends in a draw, then we should start travelling to where we will play on Tuesday next week.
If Nigeria ever qualifies to the next round of the competition which is very unlikely, I do not mind who plays but Okobi and Ayinde. The light in the midfield is Chikwelu and she should be missed due to being carded. I want Okoronkwo, Chukwudi and Uchendu in the lineup.

I don’t think Ebere will miss the next match because she didn’t receive a straight red or am I wrong?
I guess when a player receives a red card, he/she automatically misses the next match.

Yes but she didn’t get a straight red. It was a second caution in one game which turned to red. I think she will still play in the next match

Nope.
Ebere was actually sent off, so she will definitely miss the match. Same with Chikwelu

My preferred formation for a possible game v Germany would be:

—————————-Nnadozie————————

————Okeke———Ebi———-Ohale——-

—-Ajibade—-Ayinde—Nwabuoku—Okobi—A. Okonkwo—

———————-Oparanozie——U. Kanu————-

Did Chikwelu receive a red card or she was injured?
I know Ebere was sent off but it’s not a straight red card. That’s my point

Ebere’s case was a double yellow, she still misses the game.
Chikwelu isn’t injured, but has accumulated two yellows. So she misses the potential R of 16 match.

Brazil finish with 6 points and are through to the round of 16.

Penalty rebound opportunity should be removed in football. The penalty should be between the player and the goalie. If the goalie parries the ball, the match should be restarted with a goal kick.

Won’t that reduce scoring opportunities in soccer?

They are trying to copy basketball free throws.

So 3rd place in group B and C are through

Yes. The remaining two best 3rd-team spots are between Nigeria, Argentina, Scotland, New Zealand, Cameroon, Chile and Thailand.

Nigeria would be guaranteed a knockout place if the Argentina v Scotland, New Zealand v Cameroon, and Chile v Thailand matches all end in draws. This is a LONG shot scenario though.
Funny enough, Japan could finish third in their group if they lose to England, and Argentina beat Scotland by a 2-goal margin.

Agreed! The penalty advantage is really being stretched now. A simple penalty yesterday cost Nigeria 2 players and a lot of heartbreak.

So we dont need all the matches to end in a draw. We just need 1 or 2 to end in a draw. Chile can beat Thailand 2-0 and still not go through. I personally think Chile will not beat Thailand by much. Thailand are not pushovers like that. Argentina vs Scotland is the massive one for me. If they draw tomorrow night, we are almost guaranteed a place. Cameroon will beat NZ and join us in the R16. I fear VAR will help Scotland tomorrow. The VAR ref for that match....is European! There's a pattern for these things now. VAR ref is European, expect an European VAR advantage. They have used bias to kill VAR in its infancy.

Right.

I was just saying that three draws means that we wouldn’t need to calculate GD, FPP, goals scored or goals against, to see if we go through. But if there are 1-2 draws and a win, then we have to whip out the calculators grin

Lol. People are trolling the hell out of Fifa women’s world cup’s IG page with references to the Nigeria v France game. At this rate rate, they may have to delete that page. You see why Ojoro no good cheesy grin cheesy grin

This should have been the normal thing.

It appears the powers that be are trying everything to turn people away from this sport.

You don't rate Ayinde? Not even in your second team. I'd personally go with the team that started the last game with Ajibade coming in for Oshoala

I cannot rate a player who fails to complete simple pass to his/her team mate. Okobi and Ayinde are the worst culprits.
