$20k for that? I think it’s kinda of free money.
Remember it’s what they do regularly. They just have to do it faster during the competition

loveymom:

Free money you say? With all the running to get your items and cooking in 30 mins is what the $20k.

.

Been craving the Igbo stew made with Curry leaves.
Might have to make some tomorrow
I can’t find an Igbo food vendor around.
Never tried scent leaves in stew sha
Won’t be a bad idea either
Was using curryleaf for stew before I discovered scent leaf. Also try adding utazi leaf to beans while serving, cut it very tiny too or use it in abacha.

Wowww...the last 10 pages or so have been really messy

Calling someone out cos you think that the food they cook in THEIR KITCHEN is too fancy...is just plain tacky and doesn't make any sense. It's worse if you've never posted any food picture yourself, yet you have the guts to criticize others.

I came to drool over food pictures and I met a lot of e fights. Please who has cooked this morning? Advice to everyone, mind the business that pays you. I don't have energy to engage kids and underachievers on nairaland, maybe that's why I don't post so much here.

Yes o. Growing up, a neighbour used to prepare oota /hoo'ta/ (Yoruba word) which is one hell of a tasty meal in which none of the ingredients is cooked. It involves slicing tomatoes, pepper (ata rodo), onions into a plate, and garnishing it with plenty fermented locust bean (iru) and smoked fish. It is taken with agidi and most enjoyably washed down with fresh palm wine. That is the ideal weekend repertoire oh. Nutrients loaded yet, pocket friendly.

No ajee for here o kiss

All are welcomed, u design your food o, u cook and post like me o. Most times I don't remember posting unless I'm on nairaland while handling food.

There are two food channel I watch constantly on YouTube and they are Asian. One is in the interior village somewhere in China and another is Korean living in US. The two has one thing in common. They started getting more subscribers when they started using artistry to define their cooking. It makes viewers fall in love with their food more as they showcase their creativity.
If u have it in you show it, it might open another chapter in your life. And there are many things we use to decorate and design food. That most of us don't use them doesn't mean they don't exist.

Erm, I entered a classroom this morning and saw basket of small small tomatoes. Asked the teacher what's it's for, she said it's the children's fruit for the day. So tomatoes can be eaten like that.

Oh, sorry o. Small school boy like me feeling everyone got to have done the cooking by himself. Well, she couldnt have fried it, that would have been too harsh on the efo and would definitely not have come out nicely like this. You can help me ask her sha. The whole details wink

See ingredients used in preparing it in a second pic...Discarded the spices that usually comes with Indomie and subsituted with my mixed spices that has turmeric in it....Yummie doesn’t best describe.

Had you ever tried cooking with coconut oil before??

This thread used to be very interesting but it has become the Instagram of Nairaland where people go all out to impress people they've never seen. 'Cook In Your Kitchen, Take Pictures And Post It Here. SIMPLE!' and people are going as far filling syringes with raw Tomatoes/Ketchup. Far from reality, if you ask me. It is one thing being a chef on a professional level, it is another thing when you're alone in your kitchen. I can't imagine the pain of filling a cooking syringe with ketchup on a normal day in your kitchen... Haba!

The essence of every meal is simplicity; not how it is prepared but how it looks when it is finished. It would be a different ball game entirely if you were cooking for a gourmet or a critic. The pressure has pushed some to use slay queen filters on meals just because they don't want to be left behind.

To the Amiedi and Starch eaters, God bless your originality, the Okra cooks, the jollof variant cooks and lovers of simplicity, God bless you lots. To the complicated cooks, God bless you as well cheesy
I just pray we don't start seeing Crepe Bandages in plates, in the name of artistry.

This is so bitter and disgusting. I feel like throwing up embarassed

I have noticed that many people now cut their okra big, is this a new style? I will admit it looked good though BUT i can't remember such while growing up.... or is it that people have lost patience of fine cutting?

If this is breakfast, what will be for lunch or dinner, how do you find time to do this in the morning or even have time to warm it up if it was made the previous night? I envy you oh

This is okra and beans soup

I had this one time as teenager and it has never left my memory nor the taste my taste buds. But no one seems to know about it and I get ridiculously laughed at when I talk about it

I remember the lady who made the soup was from Akwa Ibom state

I made this one but with white beans (the beans must not be mashy but tender)

Anyone knows the soup?

Btw: the lady garnished hers with a lot of proteins
