The rate of Refusals as become alarming however the increased rate in which applicants continue to think what works for Person A will work for Person B is equally appalling. Majority of applicants cannot distinguish;

1. Between Having the proper finances for a study program and establishing an adequate personal asset and finance portfolio.

2. Understand meeting the demands for a clear purpose of visit to Canada and Establishing good ties to Nigeria.

3. Submitting applications in a cohesive and logical manner.

4. Not understanding how to state and explain the use of a 3rd party sponsor.

5. Most importantly not understanding how to generate a solid study plan and choosing the right program and institution. Every institution in Canada pocess a unique blend of speciality a particular institution can be skilled in a particular program and pretty much basic in another. Applicants don't bother doing researches they just apply to whichever school pops up.

The VOs already understand the patterns used by Nigerian applicants right from copy and paste sop formats to basic and unnecessary supporting documents. Difficulty rate of trv application is now HARD!.

Applicants need to understand the game plan, conduct researches and understand what they are doing. When I go through applications this days I can smell a desperate applicant from a mile away and guess what I am not even a trained VO.

P.s: Always try to read up the thread before asking questions.

Nice write up and good points of advice.
But to be honest, how many of the applicant that are not desperate? Na who de sit-down apply for Canada visa just for fun?
Anyway, I pick a lot sense from your write up.

I don't advise you to withhold any information you submitted with your previous refused application as the visa officer will go through their GCMS data base to uplift all the documents and forms submitted by you in your last application. Once this is done, you might up in misrepresentation. You've a good CGPA 3.97 why settle for a 4 years undergraduate degree 18,000CAD$ per year that is more expensive in Canada compared to a 2 years Master's program? You can check University of Saskatchewan, they offer a master's in Public health and the tuition fee (6KCAD) is favourable and the Admission process is also not stringent.

This is my advice!

If I understand you clearly, your brother submitted an E-medical slip along with his application. However, during an active visa processing he was instructed to undergo another medical exam right? Let me ask, how do you know that his medical exam wasn't good? Did the hospital call him to inform him about it? I know over 8 applicants who were called for medicals and was rejected starting from December 2018 till March 2019. I was thinking the Kenya visa officer's have stopped this style of calling for medicals and rejecting the application. With your brother's case, its sad to see that getting a medical request still doesn't guarantee the issuance of a Visa.

Has she been called for medicals? If no, i am afraid it's a refusal.

Let me break it down

My tuition is 4833 CAD per year+ Living Expenses 10000CAD per year

And my sponsor is supporting me with 20000 CAD per year and MUN's financial support is 4732 CAD per year.

My SOA is just to show my persona asset in the first place.
$2,000+1.9M ($6,000 plus) isn't up to $10k.
If my calculation is not wrong, then I suggest you work on this before applying again.

From what I gathered, when an application is submitted, it goes straight to central processing center in Mississauga, where a home Visa Officer will do the initial review. The home officer may recommend a satisfactory status for your file or otherwise at this stage and return it back to the queue online for the lead Visa Officer at the Canadian High Commission in Kenya to later pick it up for final processing. This is where the issue is. Some VOs have a style of inviting applicant for medical once they sight satisfactory remark of the home Visa Officer before they open the file for their own final assessment. Now, during the lead Officers's assessment, he/she may have his/her own issue with the application dossier like the funds issue he raised. Mind you, he has already sent out medical invite and will not hesitate to refuse the application at this stage since he/she has the final say.
Go and check your GCMS notes from the first page to the last page and confirm this story

Well said Senatorkolade! I think your points are valid. Above all, there is no blueprint that works perfectly for this visa processing thingy as applicant's cases differs in spite of the fact that we try our best to gather precise details from refused applicant's GCMS notes.

Bro, it is not justifiable to silence your first degree when you even know you have stated that in your first application. And what reasonable reason will tell the VO for the 13 years study gap? Bro I will advise you go for a PGD course or for direct masters because your Cgpa is good.

Was the repeated Medicals passed? If yes you can submit the slip given you with other documents when re-applying.. And for ur refusal, u will need to order for ur GCMS note to know the exact reason ur application was refused ... And also work on ur finances in ur next application cos it's obvious u were not able to convince them financially that you are capable of ur expenses while in Canada.. Peace

Wow, this is great news! I really would like to learn from your Judicial Review journey as I am not a custodian of knowledge and always open to learn at any given time in my life. Permit me to ask you, how much did it cost you to hire an experienced immigration attorney in Canada to file for a judicial review on your behalf at the high court of Canada. More so, how long was the whole process including transferring your file to the next visa officer for reassessment down to when you got your approval.

Thanks very much at the bolded.

ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST!!! (May applicant)

Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it.
Before I proceed, below is my timeline.

Online Application (2nd Application)
Submitted May 9th (10:57pm)
Upfront medicals passed on 11th June
Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am)
Original passport request (today by 10:32am)

This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story.

So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad.
when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!

Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.

So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.

In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.

Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.

Below are the list of documents I submitted with my application:

Even though I know my application is a little bit tight, I still handed it over to God because I have seen better applications refused, or the acceptance quota being reached as rumored on the forum,I said to God that they will bang the door when it’s my time to enter, I prayed against errors which can come from the VO leading to common refusals, lol, I prayed against bad mood on the head of the VO handling my application. Prayer is the Key.

I wish all TRV hopefuls SUCCESS!!!
Congratulations dear. I am so happy for you !
