It is too early to say d super eagles have arrived, but the boys are gradually getting dere...I have to commend rohr cos the depth of dis team is amazing, for him to bench d likes of mikel, ekong and even losing d likes of Collins and shehu to sickness and injury yet dere absence was not felt.
As for the guinea match, ndidi was sometinelse and is combination with etebo is very strong and complement each other well.iwobi did very well today, BT should reduced d way he loses d ball and misplaces passes..
On a general note it was a disciplined from d eagles, am really impressed with d workrate of d boys, gone are those days wen u HV players jst strolling around d pitch all Ind name of dey are big players.wish dem all d best as dey move on to d knockout stage

Omeruo impressed me by picking up and motivating the Guineans after they lost today. That single act showed compassion, brotherliness and leadership.

Kenneth Omeruo has earned my respect and I hope he becomes the Super Eagles captain in the near future.

I throwaway salute to Kenneth Omeruo.

We have controlled the game and had the better goal scoring chances.

Scoreline should read 2 - 0 in our favour if not for unconverted chances.

Exactly!

Nigeria demonstrated a lot of maturity to simply get the job done today. Well done.

I am still scared of Akpeyi.

Our strength in depth is ridiculous.

I said this before we have the deepest pool of intrernational quality players in Africa (not the very best players but a wider pool of very good players) and Andrew 444 or was it forgiveness kept arguing against. grin

When did I say such?

Watching Awaziem today I saw why the young man got all the high praise he did last season in Turkey. Was very calm in defence and to think he was even playing out of position. Nice one.

Kenneth Omeruo is registered as a Chelsea player but has had seven loan spells away from the club, including two with Middlesbrough

Nigeria dropped captain John Mikel Obi, who played for Middlesbrough in 2018-19, but their side did include Brighton defender Leon Balogun, Stoke midfielder Peter Etebo, Leicester midfielder Wilfried Ndidi and Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi.

Na true o.

BBC will always relate to England. Ken that hasn't worn a Chelsea shirt before, they are reminding us he is a London player.

Me Sha won't blame them o.
Their primary audience is English and they have to write their articles so that it will relate to their primary target population. I'm sure Nigeria media will do the same.

For example
Completesportsnigeria said this about Nana Bonsu

"Rangers goalkeeper Nana Bonsu has been handed a chance to fight for a place in Black Stars of Ghana squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt......."

A Ghanaian news outlet reported a news about the same player like this

Ghanaian keeper Nana Bonsu dazzles as Enugu rangers win first Nigerian cup

The defense was the real story today. Omeruo and Balogun looked good together and the passing just kept flowing at times. We have a lot of work to do but we are on the right path. We should remain humble and hungry.

Musa was always thinking of Ighalo but Ighalo thinks only of himself. It was quite clear that that angle was quite tight for him to score and moreover the gk had covered well. A square pass to Musa would have been it but Ighalo dey suffer from lack of positive vibes from Nigerians, so instead of passing the ball and let another score, he'd rather want to score himself.

Omeruo joined the Super Eagles long before Ndidi. He will definitely get the band before him. Either way, Omeruo's action with the Guineans was full of class. Deserves respect.

Nice to have you back.
