Congo hit the bar. They're trying to hit dangerously on the counter.
TP Mazembe vs Al Ahly.

Spot on
tbaba1234:
It is good to see players like Awaziem and Ola starting to prove themselves for Nigeria.

The defense was a lot more solid than in the first game. Leon Balogun is a major factor. He brings a mature head to the defense.

Omeruo looking like a better version of the 2013 Omeruo.. Finally!!! He is having a great AFCON so far.

Akpeyi, one error a game.. He was hardly troubled today. Thanks to the defense.

Iwobi with some great efforts from outside the box.

Ndidi would have been man of the match but Omeruo scored.

Any right back will loved to have simon moses.. He supports the defense so well.

Yes we don't have as much as you said

How many number 10 we get ?

We only have depth in the wingers

Who is the backup right back ? Thank God awaziem is versatile

The super eagles I know won't drop a Seria A player from the list of afcon

what was Rohr thinking bringing on Kalu for the last 5seconds or so? .. that substitution is just making me laugh all day

Today, make it a year Nigeria lost to Argentina at Russia 2018 WC. Assuming he made that last substitution SE might have qualified. Rohr is trying all his best to right his wrong.

I will Rohr is unpredictable yet read alot of inputs from fans.

Some people sha...they never see anything good in the team, always find reasons to criticize the coach et al.

Truth is, the team is progressing; passes have been very impressive, players look very fit and hungry, they keep getting the job done in every game. One thing worth noting about this team is the average age of players; they have a long time to remain. They keep improving, show great understanding with each other, they promise a lot to be excited about.... For these, they deserve some accolade.

However, the team need to work harder to become perfect; the attackers, especially, need to mesh better, work on delivering set pieces too. The journey is really going to get tougher after the group phase.

Fun fact :

2013 when SE won AFCON ,the captain, Joseph Yobo played just first match n he was benched subsequently at the end SE Won AFCON.

Fast forward : 2019 Mikel Obi is the Capt with first match but now on bench. Will SE win this AFCON?

Sorry

We don't have depth yet

Two major departments are still lacking and it is not yet Uhuru.

We lack a reliable Central Midfielder and Goalkeeper

More scouting is needed in these areas if the players available can't play those roles well

I am not okay with 1:0. We need to show we are true giants and bulldoze teams.

Also, I want rohr to start Onyekuru and Kalu against Madagascar.

am not impressed yet man ... Our group is one of the easiest, yet we keep managing 1:0
Spain was in an easier group in 2010 and they won they world cup with 1-0 from match day 2 to final. It doesn't matter the margins you win just grind out results. Na who win people want know.

What if Mikel starts next match?

Me thinks he should. At least we want to be sure his last match wasn't a sign of massive decline but just a bad day at the office

Honestly, I still don't know if we would win but I would love Mikel's retirement to be marked by another Afcon Triumph. We have the quality but the key is in Rohr's hands.
