Greetings Mr Lucky. Trust life has been good. smiley

On your question to Boss Tbaba1234... Well if I may, I just will say that dorning the #1 jersey is not really indicative of who is number 1 in goal. Alisson wears #13 but he is Liverpool's number 1. Ederson too goes by #31 I think but he is Man city's number 1. Uzoho was first choice but wore #23 at Russia 2018. So it is not indicative but most coaches would give the number 1 jersey to their first choice. Sometimes though, the goalie may prefer a different number.

I know this, I'm just trying to state his ineffectiveness in the team.

our passing game have greatly improved and there is also discipline in this team. No be all this our slow type of football wey them know us with....our main challenge now is creating chances to score.

Our main challenge is taking our chances because we created more than 4 chances in the first half.

I agree with your points, I still feel our team needs atleast one more creative midfielder. Someone that has the eye for key passes because our front line is already good at making runs it's even like they're on speed grin

What did Iwobi do with the chances Moses created for him?

Post Match tots - #NGAGUI series

2. Naby Keita will never forget the name Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi!!! Ndidi Shadowed Keita, Nullified his threats, closed him down at every bloody turn and even in a clash of legs in a tussle, Keita cane off worse. Keita was practically played off the field by Ndidi's monstrous discipline, tactical positionings, tidy tackles to shut down passing, running and shooting channels Keita would have exploited.

Ndidi's distribution also improved today and he is so confident when in a tussle for the ball. The way he can wriggle his way out of trouble with simple stepovers and turns is also impressive to see. If we didn't see the best of Naby Keita today reputed to be among Africa's top CMs and Box-to-Box Bisons today, it is because the beast in Ndidi was super active today.

3. When Iwobi was faltering and misplacing passes and having a performance parallel to his good AM showing from the Burundi game, my thoughts was for Rohr to please Bring in Mikel. But that means to take out one of Etebo or Ndidi.... TOUGH CALL!! BLOODY TOUGH CALL. But we may have to solve this conundrum at some point in this Afcon as we progress.
Mikel flopped as an AM vs Burundi... Yes! But his best position for us now in his final moments with the GwG is in the "PIRLO ROLE". THE REGISTA.
Mikel as a CM/Deep lying playmaking CM will control the entire game, boss proceedings and complement Iwobi's crispness and fluidity in the AM ROLE.
BUT seeing the Xavi/Iniesta-like combo in a Mikel/Iwobi as CM-AM combo would mean dropping one of our two midfield rocks to the bench. Etebo or Ndidi.

Etebo brought a lot today to our midfield battles and did okay on a few occasions when he had to pass the ball around but he still didn't function with the positional discipline Mikel would have brought to the table. Etebo helped Ndidi neutralise the guinean midfield. A midfield having Naby Keita of UCL winners Liverpool and a certain Amadou Diawara of Napoli FC (not sure if he is still there.. will check) complemented by the dynamism of their captain Traore of Borussia mochengladbach in Germany was always going to be mountain for any team but Etebo and NDIDI dominated them and did their reputation lots of good.

Only minus is that we didn't move the ball well enough from defence to the wings and attack as much as we would have wanted. Sometimes we went the route one way and yes, Our CM in etebo was all hardwork and putting his body into duels but his ball distribution responsibilities weren't distinctly executed. We didn't have enough creativity and passing options fron deep because neither Etebo nor Ndidi can playmake from deep like Mikel does.
In all, a fine performance from the man with Ten Lungs, Peter oghenekaro Etebo.

He should also work on his freekick delivery. One FK goal can be the difference sometimes between a win and a loss. Between Glory and Despair.

(TBC .....)

Great analysis. Welcome back Brother!!!

Mujtahida:
Musa was always thinking of Ighalo but Ighalo thinks only of himself. It was quite clear that that angle was quite tight for him to score and moreover the gk had covered well. A square pass to Musa would have been it but Ighalo dey suffer from lack of positive vibes from Nigerians, so instead of passing the ball and let another score, he'd rather want to score himself.
if you have played a football match before, you will get to understand that there is always pressure while you are with the ball in front of goal. The difference between a world class and a decent proffesional footballer is their level of thinking when making decisions.

The decent striker follows his mind, the world class striker make use of his brain.

It is good to see players like Awaziem and Ola starting to prove themselves for Nigeria.

The defense was a lot more solid than in the first game. Leon Balogun is a major factor. He brings a mature head to the defense.

Omeruo looking like a better version of the 2013 Omeruo.. Finally!!! He is having a great AFCON so far.

Akpeyi, one error a game.. He was hardly troubled today. Thanks to the defense.

Iwobi with some great efforts from outside the box.

Ndidi would have been man of the match but Omeruo scored.

Any right back will love to have simon moses.. He supports the defense so well.

with Nigeria now through, there’s every chance Gernot Rohr will rest his
star players with the knockout rounds in mind.. So we need those who will come in to be on top of their game...

Virtually all of them are star players.. No resting. Your perform well in training you get picked for match day. Rohr is throwing in everything Now...
