I'm at crossroads and really confused right now. Got another invite for an interview, but the medical tests which i got to know involves HIV screening. My parents are on my neck to go for the interview because it's likely I'll get it(the HR manager is a family friend). I snubbed the first invite lying i did not get a notification, now the HR manager had to send me another one personally. I just don't know what to do.

Really confused and mad at myself right now.

This guys story baffles me, for you to get infected only once you had unprotected sex, because I have seen men that had sex with positive ladies many times without contacting it. Even a Dr confirmed it that it's very difficult for a guy to easily contact it, unless you have some wounds around your private part.

Didn't the girl you got the infection from have any symptoms to indicate that she has the infection? Is it that she knew and deliberately made you contact it? Or could it be that she gave you out of ignorance? Does she look healthy?

See there is what we call latent period of hiv infection (usually a period when one is infected yet no symptoms or sickness)...It varies on an individual and could be up to 15 years for some..I have a patient whom I just started ARV for a week ago, this lady has been HIV positive for 8 years without any symptom..She wants to conceive and needed my help, I screened her and found out she was positive, she admitted having it for 8 years and feels no need to start treatment...I had to counsel her and gave her the condition for treating her infertility is for her to start ARV of which she agreed, I enrolled her a week ago

You might do worse if you were in my shoes. You don't know what it feels like for someone who you thought you had a future with, tell you to go look for who infected you without remorse.
Guess it's the price i paid for being a faithful guy. For close to 3 years we dated we've only had sex 3 times(I'm not really a fan of it) and just one exposure changed my life.
Hell!! I don't even drink, smoke or womanize, at least i wouldn't be this pained if i was randy. Just an average Joe who got unlucky.

Well I don't know you but then let me tell you that am also in your shoe. I was diagnosed of HIV last 2 week and guess what man.. am just 23... Like still an undergraduate.

I'll be visiting the doc today cos I've started treatment since 2weeks now. No body knows cos am still living my normal life although the first few days were depressing owing to the fact that am the only one in the university out of my family and currently on a good grade (4.2) aiming higher.


My own say is this... Start your treatment now. It'll be better with time.

No p... Went to the hospital today... Collected another two weeks appointment. I got the cd4+ test result and it's 214. (Normal should be above 200) .

Your own is better nah... You had sex, me I don't have a girlfriend not to talk of having sex . But you know, life must go on.
