Growing up, i was a very chronic stammerer. I hated talking in public. I kept to myself most of the time. whenever I was told to read a paragraph of story book in primary school, you would hear my heart beat extraordinarily fast. Fear of been laughed at would be written all over my face; i gradually developed low self esteem. Then my mum ensured I went to a very notorious secondary school as a boarder. there, i met another chronic stammerer who doesn't care at all. This guy would raise up his hands to answer questions and would prolly use more than 5 minutes answering a question. we would all laugh, yet he doesn't care.
That guy changed me. Now, i realise everything is just in your head. I no longer stammer; i had no idea I could stop until i started talking more in public places stamping my feet on the floor before i make a complete statement. All these are just in your head. with the right attitude, you may not even need a therapist. Face your fears and tackle it.

Please do not lose faith... That's all you have.Guard and protect it like your life. Give attention to the word of God, listen to motivational tapes by men Of God. Everything u need is in Jesus, don't look elsewhere.,. I was once like you, I remember but I can't even remember when last I cared abt Wat people think. Instead right now, I have the ' I rule the world" mentality.... How did it happen? I submitted to Jesus, I became born again and I followed his words bumper to bumper. If I make mistakes or err, I ask for forgiveness and continue my walk with Jesus. I can say I am a very radical and stubborn follower of Jesus , that is , no matter what tricks the devil throw at me, I still hold on to Jesus and see what he has made my life become... My dear, please don't lose faith, everything u desire is in Christ, Hold on to him and he will teach you how to break free from every challenge you are facing. Remember he said, not by your power, not by your might... So Jesus realizes that there are some things you cannot stop by yourself except you involve him because life is Spiritual... God created you to be Bold, Fearless and Conquer the world but the devil is trying to change that for you, so you have to lean on Christ so that he can help you fight these battles and trust me, U NEED FAITH... REMEMBER WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD... UR FAITH IS YOUR CONNECTION TO GOD FOR THAT SPECIAL MIRACLE. JESUS LOVES YOU, JESUSBOIY!!!!

Op u are not alone...mine is even worse...like very bad...I av been relegated indoors for like months now..d new tenants in my compound for months now haven't even seen my face for ones because I can only come out at night when everyone has gone to sleep... depression n anxiety is killing me slowly... You can visit a good government hospital, it a medical condition that can be resolve with medication. I am currently undergoing treatment with national hospital Abuja for anxiety disorder. The good thing is that the medication is very cheap

All the symtopms you listed can be as a result of
1. Having a parents that are not presentable due to having a shameful records.
2. Being ashamed of your personal failures
3. Having a ugly facial outlook.
4. Poverty and living in a poverty stricken home or environment.
5. Having a poor dress sense or poor body frame. No stylish dress fit ur body frame.
6. Uncoordinated speech impediment...Are u a stammerer ?
7. May be you have a very bad experience while growing up...like being raised by abusive father or mother.
8. You may have been bewitched by a superalien. A won iya aje
9. Lack of faith in yourself.
10. Lack of sex education,
11. Mental disorder or lack of mental focus
12. Prayerlessness or losing contact with your innerself...
Bros the list is endless... Just try and do the opposite of the few outlined problems above.

JESUSBOIY do u realize the magnitude of your name I was once like you but with conscious fellowship with the word of God, I broke out of such situations, the word of God puts you over in life, visiting a therapist won't change anything... U should talk to Jesus about it... NLanders can't help you on this one, their suggestions will only b temporary, Jesus is the lasting solutions! Hope u break out pretty soon, all the best!

Shey you saw that I said let me not say to much ? Well He tried to kill us both two times when I tried to leave him.
First time he said he will drive his car down a flyover now now and we'll both land on the bottom express, I looked down at the busy express the thing said M55 Portsmouth or something and I became dizzy!!. I prayed and begged for my life that day.
Second time he brought out a knife saying we are both going to die today!! All of a sudden he needed to poop and ran to bathroom , I ran out and luckily saw a classmate and jumped in her car that's how I fled never to go back again.
I had developed a strange problem where I thought i have to go back to save him because he needed me but now I know he needed a doctor.

I had an ex that was just like you or maybe worse because he wasnt only scared of been seen , he thought he doesn't deserve to be seen I dated him with courage and decided to love him without prejudice. Things went great initially I felt fulfilled at the point when he'd dance for me at home which was something he dares not try outside.
Later turned out he suffered from severe paranoia which I din't notice initially so he for some reason believed I am interested in other guys (let me not say too much) in the end he beat me Olumi bi aso oke!!!!! So please forget woman for now and go to therapy.
By the way don't be too hard on yourself it is your nature and I'm you will find true love that lasts eventually .

medication is good for short term otherwise with time u will now need higher doses n dis usually v effects on d body . d trick is getting to d root of problem. What triggers it.

I can't recommend the drugs I am using cos your conditions may be different from me but the drugs are just 1000 naira and it will last for a month

Hello. social anxiety is killing me. I have suffered this for most part of my life and I must say it has affected tremendously. I now have low self esteem,lack of self confidence and self hate.

I have isolated my self from most social situations because of the fear,anxiety ,embarrassment and discomfort i often face during and after every social event.
I stay indoors often.

I skip church services because I am afraid I do be asked to participate in one or more even that would trigger fear. I am afraid to walk to put offering in front because of fear that am getting watched. The fear that people must have noticed my anxiety brings more anxiety.
If I manage go i sit at the back and never stand up.


I can't talk to a group of people, if I try, I start shaking and trembling. I avoid talking to girls I find attractive.


I can't go into a place where everyone is already seated, if I do I will tremble, look down or blush. It it embarrassing when they notice it.

What broke the camels back is a beautiful girl that was was crushing on me, after managing to woo and she agreed decided to come to my place. When she arrived I started shaking, trembling, faster heart rate, lost of focus, and feeling blank. I couldn't look her in one the eye or even hold a conversation with her.

I think she noticed it and has started avoiding me.

Nairalanders, I feel too low right now, I don't know if I am the only one suffering from this. Its killing me, no amount of advice I have gotten has really helped me.... I don't know what drugs would...
