Good riddance. Now that he has stepped aside as pastor of the church, a formal complaint should be lodged against him at FCT Police command and thorough investigation should be conducted. Every lady with a story of abuse by the pastor should be encouraged to come forward and tell their stories. At the end of the day, we want to see full prosecution of the accused if necessary.
and then u will be satisfy abi.[s]

This is wrong. On no account must a man's life be disrupted or source of livelihood stifled because of an allegation without evidence. Investigation into this issuing and pastor Fatoyinbo continuing his pastoral work are mutually exclusive except if Busola has filed a case and hearing has been scheduled for a day he is supposed to work as a pastor or if he has been subpoenaed on a day he is supposed to minister to his congregation.

Foolish Nigerians. This same mob mentality made so many innocent souls die during the Spanish inquisition and Salem witch trials.

Why is it easy for some of us to believe Busola Dakolo?

Unlike the previous ladies, Busola is not an unknown person. And she has a lot to lose if all of this turns out to be false. She staked her entire reputation by coming forward with this story. What person is willing to risk all they are and have built themselves to be for a lie?

Well, let's keep watching. As I've said, it could very well turn out that the preacher is innocent but there is certainly something to look into here

He does, and thank you for your nice and thoughtful post.

I have always said it, ever since an argument I had with my younger brother some years ago about why Chirstian leaders fall, that we don't pray for our christian leaders enough. We somehow think that Pastor is superpowerfully immune to temptation...no he is not.

I hope we pray...and I hope he too learns his lessons at the feet of the Master...as we all should.

I feel your pain Sir. PBF is a great preacher, I am not a member of COZA but I have seen and hear him speak, his love for Gods work is precious, though his past sins may be catching up, but it breaks my heart seeing this... The kingdom of darkness are glad that a soldier has fallen and all the christians do is rejoice?

Please take time to pray for him that he remains strong and come out better, stronger and more equipped for the task ahead.

This letter, though seemingly humbling in context falls short of 'I am sorry; I did wrong'. Pastor wants us to pray for him without requesting for prayers for his alleged victim(s) who are going through more severe pain. The healing and reconciliation process should start by admittance of wrongdoing.
I concur, Busola herself is suffering inside, and we must give her a lot of credit for coming out.

Time wasting. Nothing good will come out of it, he will be discharged and acquitted. Let an independent body from outside Nigeria do the investigation

who said? this will send shivers to many Pentecostal church pastors who are still indulging in such act as alarm can blow on any of them now.

The man cannot go to court for defamation. He knows he is guilty of most sexual allegations against him.
Since 2010 till now, he is the most alleged of rape issues.
Though, there is always two sides of a story but why only him? He must be doing something wrong somewhere repeatedly which might be his weakness.

Nigerians and sentiments. There are many sides to this story but mounting so much pressure of this man is so uncalled for because he's a pastor or because of the celebrity status of the party involved. We have had worse case situation and recent that nothing was done by this same activist or populist. let's allow the law court do their job and we should keep an open mind on the situation. We have not even had pastor biodun's version and we are making conclusions. I pray for his family and that of dakolo to be strong.

That's the only reasonable benefit celebrities are to anybody. To use their influence and bring to light certain social issues of importance including rape. If anything at all, this case will help rape victims and survivors and can enable them speak out too and not be silenced. They can see the support a once considered shameful experience a celebs wife got, when she choose to speak out. More parents are aware that covering for rapists and even collecting money for restitution for their children's stolen innocence is not the way to go. They are able to see that even a rich and influential rapist may not be able to get away with his impunity.
Many people are now aware of various agencies they can contact that will help them. There's even a 24 hour phone contact counselling service or so now, which we' d never heard about before and didn't even know existed.

It takes a lot of courage to be strong especially in a time like this. The Senior Pastor of COZA, writes an emotional letter as he addresses the issues and reacts to issues being raised in the media... But this time, he didn't use the church letter headed paper as he writes from an A4 paper.

Remember he has stepped down as the pastor in order to give room for elders to investigate on the matter. He seems to have disabled comments on his page in order not to cause unncessary backlash as he has been receiving.

In whatever angle you may be, just take a moment and pray for him...

He lived a reckless life as a cultist, no doubt. But any girl that's coming to testify should say whether he has become a pastor or not when it happened.

Prayers do not solve ills in a sane society. Jail is a big deterrent. Nigeria claims to be a prayerful nation but see where she is today. Folks like you are the ones keeping Nigeria chained to abyss with your hypocritical suggestions.

did you digest the content of his missive? He says he does not want any distraction from the job he has been asked to do so therefore he has to step down. This is the right and proper cause of action. The position he holds in the church is very important and it is right for him to step down pending a proper investigation. Furthermore, it does not mean that there have been other severe cases then this case should not be investigated.

if you digested my input properly, you'd realise I don't have an issue with him being investigated, or prosecuted if found guilty but till then, it's all still ALLEGED so we can't tag him a rapist like people are already doing. my bias is just the way people are overreacting and not looking at the situation from both side critically. I hope after this one, incase of such situation that doesn't involve a celebrity or a pastor, we will react and take it up to this extent. I just hope then Nigeria can be better indeed.

Who will come out when the proponent of their movement has not taken the necessary legal steps to seek redress?

Slow down, read and reply like you can have a discussion and not everything is a fight to you.

First off, I still don't know who Shola whoever is. You said she lied against an Uber driver - someone she felt she could easily get away with lying against. Biodun Fatoyinbo is not an Uber driver. He is a popular, powerful, well-connected person. If you are saying something about such people, you best know what you're talking about because they have more than enough resources to challenge you every step of the way.

I finished my submission by saying the man could very well be innocent, so I've not concluded that she's not lying - I only pointed out why it's easy for me to believe her.

You, on the other hand, for whatever reason, have concluded that she's lying and she's just out to bring your bro down.

This is the right thing to do.

He should be reinstated if found not guilty and acquitted. But also, the accusers should be made to pay compensation as deterrence for fake accusations.
