We have good players no doubt... but our opponents don't have an all crappy team either...they didn't come here to hand us the trophy.. we have to fight for it!!

Seriously people should quit whying and get behind the team!!
England were knocked out of Euro 2016 by an unknown Iceland team but did that end the English national team? No!!!

Let's get behind the team...it's what we are supposed to do as fans...
Bruv, those ones are just showing the average Nigerian "spirit"- fair weather person (owó epo in Yoruba)

I was on a neutral forum and everyone over there was certain Cameroon will be playing Egypt in the quarters. I mean this Cameroon isn't even decent yet everyone seems certain they'll beat us; not that I believe them but it just shows how much of a meme team we are under Rohr.

Depressing.
Same thing the shitters said and were flogged 4-0 at Uyo

That depression should be saved for future times

Keshi team of 2013 got worse treatment than this but they bounced back...

I don't like rohr and I want him gone but I'm still supporting the team 100% ...

I would bring in Simon for Kalu due to former being fitter and more defensive . Kalu may be introduced later. Onuachu should start while Osimehn can come in later . His height will give us a good advantage if we can fully utilize it. Also Iwobi should start in place of Onyekuru ...I think we need somebody to link the MF to the attack. Iwobi fits this role cos that was where he normally played at club level.

I am making the proposition based on us going with a mobile and fluid attack. The front three selected are players who can make pacy runs into spaces.

Onuachu and Iwobi diminishes this and will slow the set up. I feel we will excel with a more direct system.

Looks good on paper.

But may I ask why u didn't include Iwobi?

I don't think Ndidi and Etebo can control the midfield here..Ndidi can hold his own but not Etebo .his ball distribution are rather poor....

No Iwobi because of a pacy direct front. Creativity and buildup will come from the flanks, with combinations with the side forwards.

We go at them with swift direct runs and Iwobi can not bring this. With news of Mikel’s injury, Etebo remains the go too guy.

You've just named these species like Adam. Bloody Spectators!

Rohr has been quite underwhelming & my eyes have been open ( to theGoodjoe's joy tongue) that his style of play is not future stuff . However, I can't see a replacement, maybe Herve Renard

U just proved that u are an hypocrite.. U are saying Onauchu didn't deserve to be called up because he plays in an obscure Danish league. But u used to complain that Kayode wasn't called up when he was banging goals in the Austria league ..remind us again, what position was the Austria league the season Kayode was banging goals there ??

BTW u lied big time at the bolded... the Danish league is no 16 in Europe.. Go confirm..

I didn't clamour for Kayode when he was banging goals in the Austrian league. I started clamouring for him after he performed well in Europa League and when he was voted the overall best player in the league even ahead of players that took FC Red Bull Salzburg to the Semi finals of Europa League.

Did Onuachu achieve all these last season?

Use your brain to think and stop being emotive.

Oh! It's number 16. His club is still an obscure club.

Cameroon are as unconvincing as Nigeria so far in this tournament, granted. For me, it's a toss up.

They will also find it hellish getting past our defence marshalled by the La Liga Warrior in Kenneth Omeruo partnered by a resurgent Balogun. The defence of the first two games is what Cameroun will be up against and they will sweat.

Also, that game will be decided in 90mins or worse, extra time. There will be no penalties. Cameroun is yet to concede, I know... But they will concede against the Super Eagles.

History favors Nigeria because we always have it good against any tournament's defending champions. We have never lost to a defending champion in a Knock out.

I am telling you had been we are playing Ghana, these guys would rather die on the pitch than loose to Ghana.
Because they have beaten Cameroon before complacency will set in whereas the Cameroonians will be all fired up for this game.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 1:08am On Jul 03, 2019
Man management will always be a problem. All coaches have their selection preference and bias somewhat.
For a Nigerian coach to manage his team well, he will need to have a group of his loyal boys. Else, because of our players' mentality -- which is Nigerian -- most of those who have achieved somewhat will not be easy to manage by local coaches. There will be clashes of egos. Our local coaches will want to say they achieved more during their days, vice versa. Dem go dey compete, who pass who?

wayodude:

I still think we would do better with the right foreign coach instead of going local. The man management and selection bias will ways remain our undoing with local coaches no matter how much exposure they have to how things should be done.

Amunike as a no 2 under a rijkaard or someone of that sort of standing is what I would opt for.
