I contacted him and he delivered the decoder to my office on Wednesday 3rd July.
Whilst with me, he tested the decoder, even though it powered off couple of times but eventually stabilized.

Today Friday 5th, July I powered on Decoder, it refused to come on. I was like this Tiger T8 Ultra HD purchased for ₦15,000 is brand new, even though there are scratches on the cover. I showed it to him same day he brought it. He said it may be the carton.

I called him to inform him of the status of the decorder this morning. Guess what? The guy said since he tested it on day 1, it means nothing is wrong with it. It can never have manufacturer error and if it doesn't power on, I may have damaged it. Hence, he can't be held accountable for a Brand New decoder(not fairly used) that messed up less than 24 hours after purchase.

Just imagine the response of the charlatan, forgetting that you can buy a brand new car, drive it for 5 days and the brake can fail, which is why we have several recalls from vehicle manufacturers. The Boeing Max 777 aircraft is brand new but crashed due to manufacturer's error.

The guy said I should give him money to send to Dubai/Kuwait

or

I should take it to a certain Mambo in Oshodi Arena, but I will pay for the fixing of a brand new decoder used for less than 48 hours.

I opted to go to Oshodi. The Mambo guy opened the decoder and said it's not the power or fault of mine, but rather a board issue, which he can't fix.

I called this Muna Buhari to brief him, but he cut off the conversation and refused to pick my calls since then.

Some people that know him on Nairaland called him, he gave the phone to someone else to pick. Even the Mambo he recommended tried reaching him, he didn't pick up.

You have jiji where you can search for decoders and suppliers selling, even if you are not in lagos, you have Konga or Jumia where you can search for strongmax decoders and purchase on delivery ,some people have warned regarding using non popular decoders and stick with strong strongmax decoders which are mostly used for years yet you still went ahead to play your self! Hmmm

I picked his contact here, called him and he personally came down to my office. Whilst we chatted and tested the decoder, all through it was 'yes sir yes sir's that he used in responding to me.

But as Yorubas would say 'Idobale kìí ṣe ìwà' being respectful to someone you consider an elder is not necessarily character.

You sold a product to someone and issues arose thereafter and the first comment you made is 'I can't fix decoder you damaged yourself'

Even when you buy from AliExpress or Alibaba, there's what we call 'buyer protection' cos so e products can be defective from factory, which is quite understandable.

first I like the statement u will show me u told me on phone u have a car of 4.5m that your house is millions that u can buy me I said yes I didn't argue with but u came out online here to say u will show someone becuase of 15k disgracefully I laugh. 7. Your response to a dissatisfied customer is that the customer should go and fix it, that it's not your problem, since it worked day 1 and anything outside that is not your business.

8. I reminded you that there could be what's called manufacturer's error, which is not limited to only decoders. Even aircrafts can have errors which is due to the manufacturer.

2. Maybe I used thunder to attack a decoder. Nairalanders help me ask this guy when I turned to Sàngó God of thunder? you're just classless. SMH for anyone dealing with you.

3. I should take it to Uzor. At first I should take it to Oshodi. From Oshodi, i should take it to Uzor who's in Alaba.

4. So if we get to Uzor and he says it's manufacturer error, what would you do?

In 2009, I bought a decoder from George D of this same Nairaland. When I had a complaint, George D handled with care and till date we are cool.

Malix sells products to many people on Nairaland. He's in Alaba. Issues arise, Malik would never tell them to go to hell. He would say send the product back, let me check.

Do you know what this guy first said when I called him around 8:00am today? He said he doesn't pick calls early in the morning and if the decoder is damaged, it's my headache, since he tested it and it worked before leaving.

What kind of disrespectful comment is that for God's sake? The issue is not even about the defective product, shitz do happen, but response matters. What if it's a traffic product you buy on 3rd Mainland bridge? What can you do to the seller? But this guy should protect his image.

Show empathy and apologize to the customer and then carefully offer solution.

Imagine this classless guy being boastful that he can throw away ₦15,000.

I wish I recorded the way this man talked demanding for a new decoder or refund I still stand as any of us not purchase a decoder and same days it died without solution. Even if I want to give him another decoder is definitely not t8ultra becuase as u see I am not a tiger producer just a seller that is why I ask him chat tiger under the law an agent is not liable in a contract between the producer and seller. I still repeat I have told him to contact tiger on there page or via there international number to first verify if the box is from factory issues then anything tiger replied him I will do for him rather than telling me he wants to invite me for dinner as if I told him I have no food. I am only an agent of tiger and have no say on decoder tested and confirmed before pay so let's reason am I the one the clown is supposed to be addressing or go to tiger official page and log is complain to be solve like I said tiger sales is not returnable if damage by client so client is eighter u chat them they tell u send to there repair center for a free fix which is on Jordan or Kuwait or u find another engineer to fix it for u

please I don't want you to see me as if am taking side with davodyguy, I just want this issue to be settled. I believe you know technician that can revive that receiver since you are into that business. I can't say who caused this problem but one thing is certain which is that any electronic can damage at any given time not minding if it is new or old but I urge you to render your help which am suggesting that the cost be paid by both of you but most importantly, I plead with you that you do something urgently about that said receiver.
