All these guys that are just making light of the efforts of the super Eagles, saying that SA is this, SA is that, as if SA is a Brazil that we don't know about.

If Egypt had taken their chances, I'm sure you won't be saying all this about SA.

If SA is that fantastic, why were they struggling in the group stage and they had to wait till the last day to qualify. for the next stage.

Like what is wrong with you people gan gan. what do you guys want?

Before the Cameroon game , people were saying, it is our first real test, we beat them, now you are saying SA is our first real test. The same SA that could have been down by 2 or 3 goals against Egypt, no thanks to the wasteful Trezeguet.

It seems a lot of people want to see the team fail, just because of Onyekuru and Osimhen issue with the coach

Nigerian team of 2013 had to wait till the last match of group to qualify and from then on, they found their mojo. If Rohr doesn't sit up, it could be bye, bye.

Osimhen or not, I have chosen to stand by this team against all odds in the SA game. However, we fans can only support. Without the right tactics, nothing can be done

It's unethical to speak ill about the dead. This is wrong. The man is a national hero whether you like it or not. Let rohr even equal his record first before we compare

Speaking ill of the dead bawo?

The thing that people have been saying even before he died sef.

So his death automatically made him a saint or what?

Hate him or like him ...Rohr has given younger players like Osihmen, Henry and Chukueze opportunity to be at cup of nations ...though his tactics are too conservative for super eagles to play free flow football we are known for .Most of our locals are just too corrupt hence kills talent . The former one took Agbim to world cup and render the reserved bench useless .Before the match against Cameroon many people on this forum said this is our first test of strength and concluded the eagles will loose .once we won they change again " the team was just too luck " Again tomorrow when they defeat SA they will cry luck luck . Rohr is not Dutch coach or Spanish coach to play entertaining football ,he is more defense minded ....if he can improve his tactical changes during matches we will play final

i never told you pinnick is a saint. the contacts keshi had coupled with the afcon triumph overnight turned keshi to a demi God. i was among those who clamored for him to take over the team back then after lagerback left but was disappointed with his approach and team selection.

i could remember then the top 2 names were keshi and oliseh but i preferred keshi because of his rich Cv and achievement in the african continent by qualifying tiny togo for the world cup and taking mali to the afcon
edi287:

Abegi!! Pinnick is no damn saint too. Keshi would've left after the WC if not for Gov intervention. He would've also resigned after 2013 AFCON as well.

Late Keshi was way better than Rohr.

Qualified 2 countries to the world cup
A great motivator
Won nations cup

Didn't have the kind of young blood/wingers Rohr currently have.

Some people dey quick forget sha.

How many years did he spend as our coach and how many years has Rohr spent?

Pls don't argue with those bashing keshi. Let's wait and see the final outcome of rohr's sojourn before we compare notes. At least both went to the word cup and we all saw for ourselves. Let's allow rohr finish his own tenure first

The world cup qualifying group of death was not the first time we found ourselves in such group. Keshi had achieved more with way less talented group of players than Rohr. Rohr has not won anything yet. And ,yes he is tactically deficient. Rohr has been Super Eagles for over 3yrs yet we unable to play three good passes....its not impatient...its FED UP! There is no reason why we should not be playing beautiful football!

And, no! The problem with Nigeria is not impatience it's people like you who are dormant and comfortable with anything you are given. Rohr has not done anything spectacular....just few flashes here and there.

Keshi had more talented and experienced players than Rohr.

lol

Maybe because he was a defender in his playing days

He played for Bayern and Bordeaux.

Spent 12 seasons in Bordeaux. Got French citizenship and that's where he is based till today.

Ran into him at the airport in Paris in October 2017. Had a brief chat and he said he was on his way home to Bordeaux after qualifying Nigeria for WC.

Even if Rohr fails to win the afcon he had laid a foundation that will last for a long time and made the team a force to reckon on atleast in African football once again.

If keshi won 4 afcon to me he was the worst mistake that happened to our football

oga you lied, keshi gave iheanacho conditions to sign with his management team before will grant him a chance in the chan team.

martins was doing very well in laliga and continued with the same form when he moved to the mls but was only invited once in a game the team performed poorly.

odemwingie was in top form in 2013 but was snubbed by keshi citing indiscipline, same goes to taiye taiwo who was a mainstay in dynamo kiev that had haruna lukman and brown ideye.

what about the case of inform youngster imoh ezekiel?

do you know keshi almost dropped yobo and odemwingie from the 2014 worldcup list if not for the intervention of the then nff chairman?

why did an inform sone aluko who was hot in the colors of glasgow rangers in scotland prior to the 2013 afcon but wasn't given a chance?

at the time haruna lukman was a regular and aside mikel, onazi and i will say to an extend igiebor was the most inform nigerian midfielder in europe but was never given a chance by keshi.

what about john chibuike who was doing very well for norwagian giants rosenborg as of the time?

- Source please. The reason I heard Nacho didn't play CHAN was because he left to complete his move to City.
- Odemwingie wasn't in "top form". He was just ok and I think that was around the time he started beefing with Steve Clarke after his failed move to QPR. He scored only 5 goals that season(12/13.)
Martins should've played but we had Emenike in form and like I said - he didn't play well when he got the chance and wasn't actually in form at Kazan before AFCON
- Yobo got injured and Oboabona and Omeruo usurped his position and rightly so as at that time. When he dropped Yobo for Confed cup - he said Yobo would make the WC and eventually break the appearance record.
- Aluko deserved to go to WC.
Igiebor was given an opportunity but he didn't play well at AFCON and Keshi eventually found a winning midfield formula in Mikel - Onazi - Mba

The 2013 team didn't loose any of their group games. They drew against Zambia (defending champions), Burkina Faso ( eventual finalists) and defeated Ethiopia. Infact, they should have beaten Zambia if not for the penalty manufactured by the ref.
I admit, it wasn't all smooth sailing but it wasn't a struggle to qualify like you make it out to be.

Every contributor here knows Aina loses concentration but you. Aina get caught ball watching on many occasions. He literally knocked Balogun into unconsciousness during world cup qualifier, because of lack of concentration. Sometimes I feel you deliberately like to sound ignorant.

I watched that game live at Ellis Park. We had a weak team but Martins was the main attraction. I still remember that last ditch tackle Aaron Mokoena made in the early minutes preventing Martins from acoring.

Keshi had a better team than Rohr n more experienced one at that. Yobo was a veteran who held his on in fenebahche and Norwich during the tail end of his career. Had an efe ambrose who was a mainstay in the defense line of Scottish biggest club Celtic and also a steady performer in the ucl

In the middle we had a seasoned professional in mikel, a young and constant regular in the serie A in onazi, Nosa was doing very well in Isreal and gaining alot of interest before he left for betis also had haruna and chibuike who were standout performers in their respective clubs dynamo Kiev and Rosenberg but ignored them.

In attack had an emenike who was in his prime and scoring consistently in the ucl and Russian league in the colors of Spartak Moscow, an ideye who partnered legendary Shevchenko in attack in dynamo kieve and finished with double figures in two season prior to the 2013 afcon and an Ike Uche who was prolific in the colors of villareal

Had an echeijile who was playing consistently in one of Portugal biggest clubs Braga, also had taiwo who was a mainstay in the colors of dynamo kiev in his disposal but snubbed him.

Had an inform Sone Aluko who was a dynamite in the Scottish league in the colors of Glasgow rangers but was ignored for the afcon in preference of uzoenyi, had a victor Moses who just signed for Chelsea and did pretty well in his first season. Musa was a consistent performer in the colors of Russian giants cska Moscow.

Had a Vincent enyeama who was unarguably the best goalkeeper in Africa and one of the best in the world then were he was a jewel in the colors of lille.
