There are thousands of people across Nigerian prisons on Death due to crimes committed. Several others still waiting trials for crimes they didn't even commit. Go to our prisons and see the standard of our facilities, with most inmates down with terrible diseases,lack of basic medical infrastructure, lack of access to good food and water. Our facilities are overcrowded . Those called senators are jst passing laws without first putting things in order to sanitize the system. I for one don't support rape, domestic violence and other vices ,however a good precedence and proper structures ( including training of our national security agents on how to properly investigate and confirm rape and other cases via modern highly rated technologies and forensics so that innocent people don't are not jailed ) by people who ought to be free from blemish and not those so called undeserving senators who themselves have RAPED this country of its wealth and continue to do so with unrestrained impunity.. Abegi, I know some guys that were falsely accused of rape even on nairaland. There was one that even shared his story during Neymar saga. He said that if not for video they both recorded during the act, he might have been jailed. Because people don't shout that were falsely accused of rape that doesn't mean there are not case of false accusations.

America, UK, Australia and other developed countries with good working systems and have have different kinds of technology to investigate dare not to give death sentence for rape because they still jail innocent people. Totally disagree. That is merely escalating violence. Once again the cause is left alone and the effects treated. Capital punishment has not deterred armed robbers or kidnappers, it has only made them more violent and more.determined to clear out witnesses, so it will happen with rape. Rapists will be more willing to clear evidence and clean out victims.

A more wholistic approach is needed to deal with the issue from all fronts. Together with the harshest prison sentences better enlightenment programs and education at all levels is required to de-sexualise society. Because wether we like it or not the various campaigns of perversion are currently winning the hearts and souls of men and women in this country presently.

He's just assuming of cos, I've seen not less than 7 cases of rape and 5 of them turned out be false accusation.so we have to thread carefully when it comes to this rape issue especially in a country as underdeveloped as ours.
