I’m a newbie here but from what I’ve learnt so far, it’s never advisable to lie in your application. So it’s best you mentioned that you’ve been to Russia. I think your SOP/LOE needs to be very strong too. Over to the gurus

okay. noted, thank you.

Before you left to study in Russia, what's the highest academic qualification attained? It is important you disclose that you've been to Russia and the reason for your visit, this will be a contributive key in trying convincing the VO when writing your "statement of purpose (SOP)," as it will fill your study gap or provide answer to why deciding to study now since last academic qualification.

A Bsc will be the most suitable program given to your provided information. I don't see your age been an hindrance despite in some situation it could also be, but you covered.

All you need to do it put more work in your SOP, and try to meet the IRCC requirements of Sponsorship, Financial capacity, Home ties, and other level of establishment in your home country.

Good luck!

Thank you. Before i left to study the highest qualification i attained was WAEC.

There is more to the "they are not convince you will come back after ur studies".. So I will advise you order for ur GCMS note to actually know the reasons why u were refused so u will know what you will be tackling in ur re-application.. Peace

Sorry for the delay. What was the reason for your denial? If you feel CIC made a mistake you can seek judicial review and you will need to get a lawyer in Canada to help you with that, some people have been lucky to win the case while others not so lucky. Before you make that move make sure your app is solid so your lawyer can have a good case to fight
Purpose of visit and got gcms note. There was nothing in it

Congratulations bro. You should get the correspondence letter on your CIC account soon. If you don't, send Nairobi visa office a mail/web form. It will be uploaded on your account

Judicial review isn't as easy as u think, there is more to it.. Apart from having concrete reasons and evidences to tackle the VOs decision in a Canadian court, it is very expensive getting a Canadian lawyer to stand for you, way too expensive bro.. I had spoken with someone that did Judicial review before, even tho he has gotten his Visa now, he didn't find it funny with the whole Judicial review process.. Even after the Court Judgement favored him, the embassy was still asking him to bring one thing or the other before they could grant him his Visa.. And the reason why he was able to provide all these things was cos he had all the documents and evidences to back up his claim.. And please note this person earns 500k per month, so paying a Canadian lawyer wasn't a problem for him.. So if u think you have the money and can face the stress of Judicial review, then u can go ahead cos I cant make ur decision for you.. But I will advsie u order for ur GCMS note, know the real reasons why ur visa was refused, tackle the reasons and re-apply, and I assure you will get ur visa this time.. Peace..

In addition to what Makano said, you should review your Application and SOP and access its content from an objective standpoint. You know how much financials you declared, access that and consider options for improvement if you can. Regarding SOP there’s always room for improvement and you’ll be amazed at how much progress you’ll make between now and when the GCMS note comes if you draft a new SOP and get advise with pruning it down to make it succinct.
I’ve experienced this refusal before, and it was because the SOP I thought was fire, was actually mehh. Actually my SOP was just a letter, with irrelevant supporting docs. I know for fact when the GCMS comes it’s going to have something to do with study plans, and having sufficient home ties to motivate a return home.

Honestly unless your case is airtight and you have the funds in millions of Naira to spend, just take the refusal, strengthen your application, write a banging SOP, LOE and reapply.
Judicial Review is expensive, time consuming and you might not even win the case. Even if you win, your application gets reviewed by another VO, you don’t know what might happen.
But based on your refusal reason, you know you can improve your SOP, LOE.
I’ll advise you to spend a couple weeks drafting a SOP, don’t worry about length, just consider your background and the story you’re trying to tell and answer all the main points that should be answered in a SOP. Afterwards, contact a couple people for review and prune it based on their suggestions. Once it’s two pages long just improve its readability and get appropriate supporting docs to back significant statements. You can even contact the International student service at your prospective school and they might be able to help.

Kindly share your profile let's see, then you can involve an immigration lawyer if your case is good enough. Like I said earlier, some people have gone that route and they won and were issued TRV but it is expensive and very stressful

Congratulations on your admission.

All your elder bro has to show is his SOA and then a sponsorship letter as well. His employment letter too.

Alternatively he can do a deed of gift for you.

Hello Everyone..
So many thanks for such a helpful thread...

Jst got my acceptance letter....my hubby is my sponsor and my elder bro a co-sponsor....
My elder bro lives in uk..he once sponsored my trip to UK for a visit ...he also gifted 2.5million wen I went to US to deliver my baby....my question is..how do I show evidence for this jst to prove he is capable to co-ponsor this time or is it unnecesssary?

Lastly wat document should he provide as a co-sponsor

Many thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Mudicua: 1:55pm On Jul 12, 2019
Sis... two people can sponsor.
all you need is to show their documents.
I am speaking from experience, and there are also enough testimonies on this thread to that effect.

jessyeve:
With all due respect, I'm not advocating for agents, i only asked someone to get professional help if he doesn't want to risk it, I ddnt refer anyone in particular, all I have been trying to do here is to give my sincere help...... What I meant by no co-sponsor is that two people can't sponsor, i Said that because I haven't seen anyone so far giving testimony with two sponsors, if I read well, she said elder brother and hubby will sponsor, I said choose one and the other should pay into ur account as his support then u mention it and show his source..... If some of u ain't so eager to attack, u would have seen we all saying the same thing or u would have asked and be clarified, stop hating on who u don't even no, I say things bluntly and that's how I prefer to receive it, don't have time to start massaging the truth but if u think u don't want me here, feel free to do ur mind, I personally don't believe anyone on earth is holding key to anyone success, thanks.

We can talk on the phone if possible because some people on this platform have reviewed my SOP and yet the second application was declined..
I contacted an immigration lawyer who said my documents are OK and that I have a case but like you said is very expensive and time consuming.

I tracked it, and saw it was ready yesterday. 22 days, still waiting for POE letter of introduction

Do you mean the BVL correspondence, i've the counterfoil but nothing like introduction letter was included in it and nothing also on my application page

For online app., its normally uploaded in the gckey account which you can print out. If its not there, send a message to IRCC Lagos and Nairobi in request for it. It will be sent directly to your email - mostly common with paper app.

The BVL is not the same with it. In this case, its referred to either Letter of Introduction or Correspondence Letter (of Introduction)

I need a link to where to apply for my gcms note that bro, I have a friend in Canada ready to help me.
mcobex:
Have you thought about EXPRESS ENTRY? with your years of experience you should have a better chance getting it (though it also depends on your age as well, cos the older you get the harder for you).
That said, try and order for your gcms note so as to know the exact reason(s) why you were denied

Please before you make any move, order for your gcms note (it is very important, though not compulsory). Once you get it come back let's put heads together to help tackle the reasons
